Murder. This act has always been seen as a taboo in society. Though there are some groups of people that see nothing wrong with the act of killing, the vast majority agrees that it is morally wrong. That’s why it is also a topic that cannot be easily brought up and, that’s why the whole conversation that Daemon’s having shouldn’t even exist. And yet it is.“W-What was that sir?” Daemon asked again. “I think I didn’t hear you right.”“Oh you heard me alright.” Desmond replied. “You’re just having trouble processing it but, I think you heard me just fine.”This confirms it. Daemon’s being asked to kill. He’s being asked about the act of killing and, how good he is with it. A teenager like him is given this question. And, unfortunately, Daemon doesn’t have the capability to lie to Desmond’s face.If he can’t do it under the state of [Calm Mind] then there’s zero probability of him pulling it off now that he doesn’t even have the skill anymore. He doesn’t have any form of defense. Leading
Daemon and Naga left the room as soon as their conversation ended. Daemon didn’t say a word and neither did Naga. They silently walked away, using the stairs this time around instead of the elevator because, they aren’t going down. They’re going up.Naga told Daemon that they need to talk in the rooftop. Daemon agreed to it of course, but not before Naga performed the same technique on him. The one which instantly soothed his body and took away all of his nervousness instantly. Naga agreed to this almost instantly as she grabbed on to his head – recreating the same sensation within Daemon that spread throughout his entire body. Bringing him back to his normal state as he and Naga proceeded to the rooftop of the building. “Sit down.” Naga said as she took out a packet of cigars and got one out. Placing it on her lips and lighting it with nothing but her internal energy. This made it cooler than what any lighter can pull off.“I’m going straight to the point. Are you sure you’re alrig
Daemon knows what he needs to do now. With the existence of a solution for him, all that’s left is for him to pave the way so that it can be used to its utmost efficiency. And with only three days to do so, he doesn’t have any time to waste.“Alright.” Daemon opened his system window. “Let’s see what we have for ourselves.”The estimate given by Astaroth to him means that he should expect a kind of change when he reaches [50] intelligence. That is now the goal. Currently, this is what his stats look like though.[Strength (Str): 25+5][Intelligence (Int): 25+5][Speed (Spd): 15+5][Luck (Lck): 15+5]His [Strength] has greatly gone up since this is the same stat that he prioritized increasing during the fights against the other scholars in the Arena. Thanks to the sub quest [The Alpha of the Pack], Daemon got a single status point for every victory he achieved during that day. Allowing him to earn ten points – all of which are placed on his strength. He also gained a couple more points
Daemon’s just finished taking down another scholar. There are plenty more that seem to just be dying for a beating because of how they’re surrounding him but, he’s made to stop all of a sudden because of the animosity and threat he felt coming from the entrance of the hall. Making him stop as, the target of his visit finally showed himself. None other than Leon himself.“What do you think you’re doing?” Leon asked in a sharp tone; suggesting that a single wrong step is all it’d take for Leon to lunge at him and attack him. And he can’t have someone as dangerous as this guy doing that – though it didn’t stop him from actually fueling the fire.“Perfect timing. I was just waiting for you to come in.” Daemon said in a soft tone. “These guys are really good at keeping me company while I wait as well.”“Ahhh you really have a death wish don’t you?” Leon said as he began to take a step forward.“Before you get the wrong idea, you should know that it’s these guys that came at me first.” Daemo
Daemon finished all of the fights within that day. The number of members within the group that he took down amounted to twenty. He had short breaks in between and during the lunch but, that’s basically saying he fought ten in the morning and ten in the afternoon. This whole ordeal had the blessing of Naga Kazem of course. Daemon wouldn’t have the courage to go there if his instructor didn’t allow him in the first place. In fact, this is the thing he fixed first thing in the morning. Calling up the number of his instructor through the telephone in his room.Needless to say, Miss Naga didn’t like the idea one bit. She thinks that it’s dangerous for Daemon to go to a den of wolves ruled by a lion. But Daemon insisted and said that he’d be fine. He also told her that he’s got a plan. This is all he needed to get Naga on his side. Allowing for the events that day to proceed as it is.The only problem he truly encountered in this setup of the fights are with the stronger ones on the list. T
“Alright, everything should be ready now.”Daemon entered his room as soon as he finished eating dinner. He didn’t waste a single second. As soon as he locked the doors and sat on the chair right in front of his wooden desk, he opened the system window. Looking at what he gained from the recent ordeal.[20 Status Points][Information: These points are gained solely through the Sub Quest – Alpha of the Pack]Twenty points. He has twenty points in total that can be allotted to his [Intelligence]. He’s already got forty so, adding all of this will amount to more than he intended. Reaching sixty which, logically speaking, will better the effects he gains = something closer to the original skill [Calm Mind].But even before he could start this, he first needs to consult something with Ashtaroth. A detail that seems to have been overlooked because of the need of the situation.“Ashtaroth.” Daemon began. “Are you up?”It didn’t even take ten seconds before the demon responded to him. With a
[Cultivation Successful – You have reached the Second Gate.]These are the words that appeared in front of Daemon as soon as he opened his eyes again. Unlike what he thought, he wasn’t able to stay awake that evening. The sudden change that happened to his body’s state is so great that, it’s forced to shut down. Something which became even easier when he began his attempts to meditate. The path that he took, the one beyond the gates of fire, is scorching hot. Every step he took is made with his bare feet – his skin coming into direct contact with this burning sensation no matter what he does. There are flames everywhere and the sound of crackling from things that are set ablaze.Daemon can also smell the faint scent of something burning. Flesh, skin, and hair. All of these being burned from the surroundings though he does not see anything resembling a human nor a beast that’s caught in flames. Though all of these are bad enough to make him wake up again, he didn’t. Daemon remained in
Daemon’s told to go to the helipad before Desmon and Naga because, these two still has to talk between themselves. Of the things that are happening and, how it got to that point. Even though Desmond seems to be a carefree soul, he actually cares a lot about his comrades and how they feel. That’s why he stayed for a little while to debrief things further with Naga.“Are you sure we shouldn’t be going up there yet?” She asked.“The kid can wait. I already gave him what he wanted so he’s got nothing to complain about.”“Got him what he wanted huh.” Naga said. Desmond already knows what’s going through Naga’s mind. That this is not a normal occurrence. That a man like Desmond won’t just let a scholar get what they want. If he’s such a generous person, then there’d be more scholars for their organization and, they’d lose a lot of resources just by giving these same scholars what they want. That’s why the whole thing doesn’t make sense to Naga.“I’m surprised he got you to agree to this.”
