Vana's POV

I tapped my boots against the pavement as I wait for my companions to arrive. It has been two days since our graduation ended, and today is the day of our mission. I leaned against the wall, watching as the crowd and vehicles pass by on the main road in front of the clock tower.

Just like our previous mission, I was first to arrive, and I had to wait for them to arrive. I wore a white long sleeve and a knitted vest, tucked in on my black shorts with my holster belt wrapped around my waist. My ankle boots clacked at the stone ground with a beat, my head bobbing to the beats it creates.

“Have you been waiting long?” a voice wondered, leaning next to me.

I lifted my gaze up to Jerome, recognizing his voice. He leaned against the wall next to me, wearing shades to block the sunlight against his eyes. He looked down at me with a wry smile, and I smiled back out of court
