"Oh, come on, Zane. I was just teasing y'all. If I really wanted Collette dead she'd be dead. You know that, don't you?" Martha scoffed, stretching her body.

A gust of wind blew into the room almost immediately and there was Adair, breathing heavily, his hands, body and face covered in blood.

His eyes anxiously swept across the room in search of Collette. When his eyes collided with hers, he breathed out a sigh of relief and relaxed.

However, he couldn't help noticing the fear in her eyes and the sound of her racing heart.

"Don't worry, I did nothing to her. We just had a brief chat before your men rudely interrupted." Martha snickered, her face stretching into a smile. "But you should've at least cleaned up after murdering that poor waiter in the restroom."

Adair clenched his jaw tightly as he slipped both hands into his pockets. "I thought you were dead."

"Why? You wanted me dead?" Martha mused in amusement.

"That would've been better."
