"You got married and you didn't think you should tell me?" Aster asked on their way back.

"I'd explain everything when we get home." Collette bit down on her lower lip.

Curiosity was killing Aster, but she could see the uncomfortable look on her face whenever she brought up her marriage.

"Fine. I'll just keep silent and wait until we get home." Aster sulked and rested on the chair. However, she suddenly recalled something. "Please tell me Evelyn is currently filming and we won't see eye to eye?"

"You won't." Collette replied curtly.

"I'm relieved. Although it'd have been much better if she was dead." Aster mumbled inaudibly and Adair glanced at her through the rearview mirror.

Aster happened to look towards it as well and the two locked gazes for two seconds before Adair tore away his eyes.

Aster lowered her eyes onto her lap. After her encounter with Adair back at the border, she had tried every means possible to find out more about him. But couldn't because she had no name and

Then he rushed towards Collette. "What can I do to help?" He asked, standing beside her. "I just need some painkillers. Nothing serious." Collette smiled, trying to keep the pain off her voice. "I'll get it." Adair nodded, when the pungent smell of blood hit him. Blood? Was she injured? His eyes swept over her a number of times before he asked, "Did you cut yourself?" Collette froze, "No, I didn't. Why do you ask?" Adair looked up at her for a while and shook his head, "Nothing. I thought I smelt blood. I was wrong. I'll be right back with the painkillers."Before he walked out of the room, he threw a chilly glance towards Aster's direction. He had no idea who this girl was, but he'd let her off because she seemed to be Collette's only friend. And from what he heard when he stood outside

Although he hadn't seen anyone when he turned, he knew his intuition wasn't messing with him. "Have you found him?" Jordan shook his head slightly, "I've asked a few of our brothers to return. But Zane is currently trying to find him." Adair turned his attention away from Halsey for a moment and she wandered into the midst of wealthy children. She sat on one of the swings and swung for a long time, until she felt a shadow cover her. She slowly pulled the swing to a halt with her left leg and looked up to see who it was. Shrinking back her neck in fright, she hurriedly looked around in search of Adair only to realize to her dismay that she had wandered away from him. The two tall and muscular men gave way to someone and a small figure made his way to the front. He threw a disgusted look at Halsey,

Despite Tucker's threats, Adair didn't bother with him as he bent over and carried Benjamin in his arms. “Kill her.” Tucker spoke into his phone. However, he heard nothing from the owner of the phone. “I think he's dead.” A familiar voice sounded instead. “Jordan? Of course, you're alive, and Adair had everything contained as usual.” Tucker seethed angrily and quickly left the store. He hadn't gotten far when some men, who had their faces covered, walked up to him. Almost immediately, a van pulled in front of them, and he entered the van with them. Tucker hissed numerous times as he tried his best to contain the fact he lost to Adair once again. The van drove for over an hour before it stopped under a tunnel. Tucker alighted from the van and got into a black Lincoln which was parked just beside it. The Lincoln drove out afterward and headed straight to a seven-star hotel. “Why am I being summoned when I haven't done anything?” Tucker complained as soon as he walked into a privat

It took Adair precisely eleven minutes to get to where Tucker held Halsey and Benjamin hostage. He walked in on Tucker spraying something on an unconscious Benjamin. But despite being unconscious, Benjamin would wince in pain whenever it touched him. “Don't you feel ashamed picking on someone lesser than you?” Adair mocked, making his presence known. His words didn't deter Tucker, who kept throwing the water at Benjamin. “Who said he's lesser than I? Someone who Adair Huxley calls father-in-law isn't lesser than me.” “That's that, but I still don't see how a man in his early forties is a threat to you who's more than a thousand years old.” Adair shrugged and found himself a chair to sit on. Tucker dropped the spray he held on the table and glanced above his shoulders to see Adair's cold eyes. “Those cold eyes. Why does it seem like you turned off your emotions?” Tucker asked in surprise. He was yet to hear the news about Collette getting into an accident, since Adair's men were

What a pity that good people die early, while bad people live the longest.” Jordan said in spite. “True. That's why you, Adair, Hannah and I have lived this long.” Tucker chuckled. He had better things to do, such as torturing someone with the name Benjamin Pitt, so he didn't want to waste time with Jordan. She explained to me, it was something capable of keeping vampires from messing with our head. Why don't you get it for me?”
