At the announcement of his mother's death, Ryu felt a sudden sense of emptiness, one he couldn't quite grasp at the moment. His heart ached so hard that they felt numb, even the urge to cry over the death of his mother was gone.
He fell back to the chair he had previously been seated on, his eyes hollow as he stared down at the tiled floor, not quite registering his environment. His mother was really gone? She was no more, she would never wake up to hold his hands or call his name. The realization of his new reality began to slowly sink in, his breathing soon turned labored as his throat ached from the urge to cry. "Good day sir, we are from the JP Housing Corporation. Our Chairman, Mr Langley Austin has demanded your presence. Kindly cooperate and come with us or we will be left to use force," A young man introduced himself while standing before the devastated Ryu with two other men behind him, all three were dressed in clean black suits with their hair neatly styled, they looked polished and sophisticated while appearing pretty serious. However, Ryu paid them no attention, he didn't even acknowledge their presence as he was way too wrapped around his thoughts to even notice or give the three men a proper response. His eyes soon turned teary and his vision blurry as he clenched his jaw tight in a failed attempt to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall down his now swollen eyes The waiting hall where he sat was very much empty with only four people in it, which were Ryu and the three strange men. But the men were patient enough, understanding he was grieving his loss, they stood by and stared down at him with no sign of sympathy on their faces. A few minutes flew by and the Doctors rolled a stretcher out from the operation room, it had a body on it covered with white cloth. Ryu immediately stood up and held the stretcher, stopping the Doctors from moving any further, he slowly opened the white cloth to reveal the pale face of his beautiful mother. She looked so pale and her face felt cold to his touch. No longer being able to hold back his tears, Ryu wailed out loud with hot tears rolling down his cheeks and they fell on the dead woman's face. "Please... please," Ryu murmured, wishing she could open her eyes by some kind of miracle but that would never happen. She was dead and gone and all of it was his fault, if only he had been at least capable of doing something. Hatred and regrets soon filled Ryu's heart as he couldn't help but blame himself. He felt responsible for his mother's untimely death. However, Ryu wasn't given enough time to grieve over his mother because soon enough, one of the three men quietly walked behind him and pulled out a white cloth at the signal of his colleague, and without Ryu's timely knowledge, he placed the cloth over Ryu's face. And after much struggling at the sudden action towards him, Ryu slowly fell limb and unconscious with the man holding him in place. The first man who had introduced them turned to face one of the Doctors and said, "Place her into the private ward and make sure she doesn't wake up, she can't die either. The Chairman will be visiting soon," the Doctors nodded at him and pushed the stretcher away to go get the job they were paid to do done. Meanwhile, the three men left the hospital with one of them carrying the unconscious Ryu and placing him inside the car and they drove away from the town to a well-known big city in the country. It was a long journey of over an hour, their car drove straight into the parking lot of a huge mansion situated in a neighborhood known for housing powerful and influential people. After finding a good spot to park, they all got down and one of them pulled Ryu out, carrying him on his shoulders, they stepped into the huge mansion. Right after stepping into the living room, they were welcomed by the gold and warm brown decor, a normal person would have been awed but the three men were unfazed as they had been here a couple of times in the past. Going to the top floor of the mansion, they placed the unconscious young man on the soft bed like a sack of potatoes and left the room, they made sure to close the door after stepping out. Ryu who was unaware of his surroundings and his current state remained unconscious in the guest room of a huge mansion owned by a well-known powerful and influential businessman in the city, he remained there till the next morning. Poor Ryu wouldn't be prepared for what was ahead of him.The following morning, the huge mansion was quietly busy with servants running about getting their duties done. Inside the master bedroom which belonged to the chairman, a middle-aged man stood before a full-length mirror getting ready for the day with three maids standing beside him, ready to take his orders at any given time.Mr Langley Austin was currently in his late 60s and looked very young and agile for his age, he was quite particular about his health. The grey hair on his head gave off his age which was hidden thanks to his youthful looks, he was average in height sporting 5:2 ft tall. His face looked serious, so serious that it would leave a person guessing how he looked like if he ever smiled. He looked at his reflection one more time after being fully dressed before stepping out of his bedroom without saying a word and the maids stepped out right after and closed the door. With precise steps, he walked through the hallway and made it to the dining where a feast lay untouch
Right after Ryu had passed out on the floor due to the poison he drank from the coffee, the office door was pushed open, and in came Richard whose hands were placed in the side pockets of his pants, and following behind him were two bulky men dressed in an all-black outfit.Seeing Ryu lying on the floor and now unconscious, Richard let out a low but satisfying chuckle, he pulled his right hand out of his pocket and placed his on his head, ruffling his curly hair a bit as he ran his hand through it before dropping his hand back to his side.He softly pushed Ryu with his leg but no sign of consciousness from him, he looked back up at the two men and ordered them to pick Ryu up and they did while Richard moved to the side, giving them enough space to carry out their job."Take him away and you know what to do with him, no matter what, he can't be seen alive," Richard ordered and the men nodded their heads in understanding. "Make use of the emergency elevator that leads directly to the un
Mr. John quickly drove the car to the same hospital where Ryu's mother had been undergoing treatments for a quick check-up. Following the Chairman's orders, he took Ryu to a VIP ward where a doctor made a quick check on him. That was when they discovered Ryu had ingested a rare kind of poison, this information was quick to place Mr. John in a panic mode. Fearing for the life of the Chairman's son, he instructed the Doctor to immediately start giving Ryu treatment as he knew how deadly poisons can be. It usually depended on the kind of poison he took, some could kill their victims as fast as one could blink and some usually would take time before slowly killing their victims and there was no telling what kind of poison was inside of Ryu. While Ryu was undergoing gastric lavage treatment to get rid of the poison in his stomach before it took effect as according to the doctor, it was a slow-acting poison which would firstly render its victim unconscious before slowly killing them, Mr.
"Sir? We can't proceed with your mother's chemotherapy unless you make payments. Please do so as soon as you can, thank you," said the female doctor who then stepped out of the ward after conveying her message to the anxious young man.Ryu said nothing in response to the doctor's words, he let out a slow breath. Although he appeared all worn-out with visible eye bags and pale skin, his blonde hair was a dry mess but he cared less about his appearance as of the moment, his sick mother was the only person that mattered to him.She was all he had after all."I will make sure you get all the treatments you need," Ryu murmured to his unconscious mother, determination dancing in his bright blue eyes while standing beside the bed where she was lying.Quickly, he fished his mobile phone out of his pocket, thankfully he had a huge sum of money in his savings account, and he would use it for her treatment. However, Ryu's phone buzzed loudly in the quiet room just after unlocking it to see a mes
His mind went blank for a brief moment before rage filled his whole being and without thinking twice about the thoughts he had in mind, Ryu walked towards them in haste, and from behind he came to stand before them, interrupting their cheating moment."How dare you?!" Ryu yelled and immediately grabbed Richard, his friend by the collar and lifted him from the bench where he sat intimately beside Belle."Ryu? What are you doing? Have you gone mad? Let him go!" Belle yelled at Ryu in shock and quickly grabbed his arms, trying to yank him away from Richard. Finally letting go of Richard, Ryu glared hard at his friend, not imagining he could betray him in such a way."How could you?" Ryu asked in whispers but got silence as a response, all Richard did was smile smugly at Ryu, not seeming remorseful and this angered Ryu even more. However, Ryu let out a low breath, trying to calm himself down as he had a bigger fish to fry. He looked away from Richard and turned to face Belle who was cling
Ryu would never believed a day like this would ever come, if he had been told in the past, he would have laughed it off. Ten months of being married to Belle has been hell for him, she never treated him with respect and he tolerated that because deep down he felt she didn't deserve a loser like him. However, today's incident wasn't something he could take lightly. Belle had stolen his life savings to pay up her father's debt without letting him know and still cheated on him, she showed no signs of remorse and only tried to justify her actions, and instead of an apology and maybe his money back, they insulted him and threw him out. This was too much and there was no way Ryu would forgive such wickedness. He signed as he stared down at himself, feeling angry and not knowing what to do. He needed money urgently for his mother's treatment and the little he had was taken away and there was no way of getting it back.Ryu cursed as he felt a great sense of urgency when he realized getting th
Ryu left the house and roamed around town, he made multiple phone calls and asked around for part-time jobs he could do to get paid quickly but nothing worked.Evening soon approached and Ryu's efforts to somehow raise money proved futile, he couldn't even get a single penny.Raising money had always been difficult for him his whole life however, he never complained about it and thought it was normal but today, not being able to get money made him anxious and angry at himself for being such an incapable loser. Especially since his mother's life was at stake. The thought of losing his mother because of his incapability scared him, it angered him the most and the urge to beat himself was strong. However, he knew doing that wouldn't make money magically fall from the sky.It was evening and Ryu was a whole mess, apart from the fact that he was hungry which he didn't really care about, he looked worn out, his head was messed up and he was tired.By evening, before heading home, Ryu decide
Ryu couldn't find a good place to stay because he had no one to go to, Richard was the only friend he had and he wasn't acquainted with anyone. It was already getting late and the night was cold, he needed a warm place to lay for the night, and the hospital where his mother was was the only place he could think of. He ended up spending the night inside his mother's hospital room, thankfully it was warm and it had a couch long enough for his tall body. As early as six am, Ryu left the hospital to a nearby family court for his divorce. However, much to his disappointment, he needed money, IDs, and resources to be able to file for a divorce and he had none of that, now he was stuck. Frustrated and tired, Ryu became lost and had no idea what to do next, he had no money on him, not even a penny, and the ten thousand left in his bank account definitely wouldn't be enough. He stood outside the court with his hands on his waist, staring at nothing in particular with a deep frown marred on
