Chapter 3: The First Challenge

With the heartbeats that raced faster than the light energy, they murmured each other. "How should we explain this?" Blaze whispered to the brothers.

"Well, let's call it a coincidence?" Sirius suggested. He had no idea that he and the brothers would be acknowledged by his father about peeking up the conversation.

Zen, who was a little bit afraid of Kian, said, "Ehm, we unaccidentally heard it, Dad. Sorry."

By holding on his anger, Kian smiled and said, "Well, there is no need to sorry. I will explain it to you, when the competition for tomorrow has finished."

"Explain about the conversation?" Blaze wondered about what his dad meant.

"All of the things, related to you and your brothers." Kian stated with assurance in his glance.

"I think we can have the night sleeping now," uttered Cassian while yawning.

Sirius staring at Cassian teased, "Yes, you want it because you had been sleepy, Cass Bro?"

"Whatever you say, I suggest that we all should have the night sleep. Our investigation has finished, don't you realize it?" Cassian kept yawning and closed his mouth with the right hand.

Before, Sirius answered it, Kian interrupted, "Well, I asked you all to return to the bedroom now. Otherwise, I will not explain about my past conversation and plan tomorrow."

"All right, all right. We return," uttered Zen with the curiousities in his gaze.

"Good night, My dearests." Kian smiled as he replied.

Then, the kids themselves walked away with the unanswered questions in their brains. They might look too young to know about violence and wars. In contrast with their appearance, their brains and mentals were quite mature like the normal adult Nemozens.

As the time passed, the new day with light grey sky came. At the same moment, the sun shone and slowly appeared among the hills and mountains. Through the warm and shiny light, some of the nemozens who worked in the field and village began their activities and businesses.

While the nemozens in the city mostly prepared to go their working places. However, for those who joined the competition had not got themselves prepared. It was because the activities would be started in the middle of the day.

There were around twenty candidates who would fight to earn the special position and rewards. Among half of them, there were some nemostellars joining, including Storm. He finally obeyed his sister' advice for joining the competition.

Sitting on the sofa while watching the television reality show, he looked calm with the snacks on the table. He had planned to prepare later than earlier. He did not want to be the earliest candidate who arrived at the castle alone. Instead of arriving earlier in the destination, he preferred to prove about his sister's saying a day before. She was sure if Storm could win the reward and joined the team to save the earth.

While the reality show was still running, he then opened his palm. Then, the silver light appeared and greeted him as if it cheered for the competition. Storm smiled a little bit and said to himself, "Let's prove about this power which cause me to be considered as 'Stormy Boy'."

Once, when the time was pretty close, Storm went with his air bike. Floating on the street eased him in passed the various type of air general transportation, except space craft.

After about an hour, Storm parked his air bike to the parking lot which was located at the corner of the castle yard. His sight was also amazed by the amount of nemozens who came to see and cheer the candidates up.

"Well, at least, I already want to try and pass the selection stage. If I'm failed, I will not blame on others or even myself," said Storm inside his mind.

It was clearly shown that Storm was not over confident with her ability. Instead, he was curious about the activities in the competition and how he could handle every challenge given.

"As the king of the nation, I would like to welcome all of the candidates and the nemozens as the audiences." Kian's voice was heard by the candidates who stood in the yard and the nemozens standing behind the gates.

The shouting and claps of the nemozens responded the king's welcome speech. Some of them even shouted for their favorite candidates pretty loudly. For the rest of them, they just waited with cheerful and energetic facial expression, they could not wait to see the candidates competed each other.

"All right. After this, we will have a look at the first and second challenge. All of you can cheer the candidates, but please don't do the harm things." The MC announced with a bright smile on his face.

Then, Kian sat on his throne with the family. The first challenge were started by the changing of the place into outer space virtual reality. In the centre, there were about three until four planets and the sun as the main energy sources. At the same moment, a few of the alien space crafts were flying and attacked the planets. The scene made the floating audiences amazed. They felt like watching science-fiction movie.

"For the first challenge, the candidates were supposed to elliminate the alien space crafts and safe the planets. For those who destroy alien's space crafts the most will earn the biggest point." Cedro, the judge of planetary safety, explained as the candidates paid attention and listened.

In the same place, Storm with the clear understanding from the explanation started to think about safety strategy. "So, I should be aware of the aliens' attack and position." He reminded himself carefully.

Subsequently, the challenge began. All of the candidates were flying with air motors and tried to protect the planets. The fight between them and aliens also occurred. One of the fighting scene impressed the audiences. It was done by the yellow thunder owner, Chyper.

"TRINGG!!" The sword held by a candidate called Chyper crashed with the alien's weapon. He tried to stop the mutant alien from damaging a planet with blue and white color.

"You will lose though. You are a loser!" The mutant alien smirked with the evil glance.

"No matter if I lose this challenge, I will still protect the planet," said Chiper.

He then waved his sword to different direction and opened his right hand. Suddenly, the small yellow thunder appeared slowly. In about a few seconds, the yellow thunder started to be bigger, and it was pointed to the mutant alien.

"ARRGGHH!!" The mutant alien definitely disappeared as he shouted.

"Okay, let's detroy the other aliens," stated Chyper with the optimistic smile on his pale face.
