chapter 8 (jack the doctor)

"We have to save him, he is dying… from internal bleeding in the lung. I swear he won't survive two minutes, but if you allow me, I can save him", jack told them.

The head doctor shouted at him, "you don't know anything, you said internal bleeding, how can you conclude that without a x-ray, you don't clearly know what you are doing, please move him away this instant, let wait for the ambulance to arrive".

Jack exhaled loudly, "He will die if you move him a slight, he will die, you have only 2 minute left for him to survive".

Mr. Achveil's body stopped gasing, and immediately went cold. The doctor checked on him and they could see he was barely breathing.

The head of doctors knew if Mr. Achveil die, he will be the one to take the blame. He decided to push it to jack.

"Will you take responsibility if anything happens to him?", He inquired.

Jack nodded, "yeah, let's just go on with it already before it's too late", he said and moved to start.

The bodyguard cocked the gun, but Sophia motioned to him to stop, his father is already dying, she decided to give the slim hope on jack.

Jack placed his hand gently on his chest, and ordered for water. They immediately rushed and gave it to him, he raised the man up and poured a drop of water in his mouth. Then place it back gently. Then, he ran his hand on his neck, and could feel where the internal bleeding was. Although he was under time pressure, Jack kept it cool.

"Pin", he ordered.

The people all looked at each other, and no one had a pin.

"I will go bring it", the bodyguard stated and immediately sprinted.

Jack checked the time, he had Less than 30 seconds, or else Mr. Achveil would die.

He looked up and grabbed a pen from one of the staff's hands. He raised his hand to stab it with him. The doctor immediately held his hand.

"What do you think you are doing! First you are performing without x-ray, or ICU, and now you want to release blockage. You don't even know if that's the area, with a pen?".

"Please let me go, time is running out", he twisted his hand and wanted to try again, but This time, he was held by Sophia's sister. Lydia.

20 seconds.

"Don't kill father!, I know you are sent from the Taheel clan to kill father, you are an assassin, sister, let 's wait for an ambulance!", Lydia cried.

Sophia bit her lips not knowing what to do.

10 seconds.

"He will die, and that will not be my fault", jack threatened, Sophia dragged her sister away freeing jack, without hesitating, jack stabbed Mr. Achveil right in his neck with the pen, blood gushing out. Everyone gasps.

Then, in a sudden Mr. Achveil started gasing, and foam coming out from his mouth.

That was when Jack was lost, he didn't know anything about the foam, it shouldn't happen. He trembled, and feared he had just done what he shouldn't. Mr. Achveil stopped gasing, then he stopped breathing also. It failed.

Jack bit his lips as his heart beat very fast like he could leap out from its chambers.

The doctor checked his heart beats, then raised his head up and nodded, "He is dead".

Lydia's screams pierced the heavy air "you kill my father", her Tears streamed down her face as she flung at him, and tore his clothes into pieces. Sophia went cold, not knowing what to do.

The bodyguard arrived, and when he noticed what's going on, he brought out his gun with the determination to end Jack's life. Jack closed his eyes deep and think of his Dad and mom.

Cough cough cough

The sudden, weak cough pierced through the tension-filled air. All eyes turned towards the source, disbelief flickering across their faces as they realized it came from Mr. Achveil's still form. Sophia gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in disbelief, while the doctor hurried to Mr. Achveil's side.

"Mr. Achveil!", The doctor called out as Mr. Achveil opened his eyes slowly.

"Dad!"Emotional Lydia kneeled beside him, while Sophia breathed heavily.

Jack spoke up, "you should take him to the hospital urgently!, I think there is something more happening to him".

Mr. Achveil was taken to the hospital for further treatment and diagnosis. The hotel started functioning as it should be.

Sophia was with a shirtless jack.

She was embarrassed of herself because she was rude to him some moment ago.

"I'm… very grateful!, I don't know how to show my appreciation enough, you are very incredible and brave", Sophia wholeheartedly stated, and this was the nicest she had ever been after the death of her mother.

"It's okay, I'm a doctor, so it's what I do".

"Wow, that's nice, I'm sorry for being rude to you… and your shirt, I should get you another one", she stated.

"Oh no, it's okay… I will___".

Sophia cut him, "I should, just as an appreciation, let go to the boutique together, as an appreciation".

Jack wanted to refuse, but Sophia was adamant. He accepted, and Sophia requested for her bodyguard shirt so Jack could cover himself.

"Ma'am, are we not going together", Jeremy, the bodyguard stated.

"No, you wait here… I will be back".

"But it will be dangerous, you don't even know him, he might be an assassin".

"It will be okay, he just saved my dad, don't be illogical because of your overprotectiveness", Sophia stated. Jeremy exhaled loudly as he hesitantly took off his clothes.

Jeremy had been Sophia's bodyguard since they were both little. Jeremy was raised a fighter and was at the level of iron warrior in the cultivator realm. He would do anything to protect Sophia.

Sophia and Jack hopped in Sophia's Lamborghini car, as Sophia kicked the engine, jack phone rang and it was from Emily.
