Noelle alighted from the cab, paid the cab driver before turning and heading towards the entrance.
She could see a lot of people around her age along the way. Some were wishing their parents goodbyes, some were making phone calls, and some were looking around as if waiting for someone while some were heading towards the entrance like her.
Noelle could feel a lot of attention on her as she walked, probably because of her looks. There were some boys who came to hit on her but soon left after seeing that she showed no interest in their advances.
She walked unhurriedly, as the time for the test was still some hours away. She wondered if she would be able to pass the test.
As she was lost in thought she felt someone tap her on the back. She thought it was another boy coming to try his luck again so she ignored it. She kept on walking before she felt another tap on her back. She still ignored it, thinking that if she did the person would lose interest and go away.
When she felt the tap again on her back she instantly felt annoyed, wondering why the person couldn't take the hint. She turned around, ready to give the person a piece of her mind before stopping.
The reason was simple. It wasn't a boy who was following her, but a girl.
"Hello. I've been calling you for the past 5 minutes now but you didn't respond. Is everything alright?" the girl asked.
Noelle studied the girl. She was very pretty, though she was short. Her red hair was cut short and she had a very innocent expression on her face, the type that made one want to protect her.
Noelle heart softened, and was about to respond before freezing, a grimace creeping on her face.
Huge! So huge! Is that an E-cup?! At what age?! How?!
The girl's chest was incredibly huge. Noelle didn't know how it was possible for someone her age to have this kind of chest.
She subconsciously glanced at her own chest. She had always been proud of her breasts. She was a solid B-cup, and her breasts were firm and perky. But now her breasts were looking mightily small in her eyes.
She was still thinking about it when the girl's voice brought her out of her reverie.
"Hello? Hello?" she called out.
"Hello. I'm fine thank you."
The girl noticed Noelle staring at her breasts intensely but didn't call her out on it. She didn't mind and kept conversing with her.
"I'm Emily. Can I know your name?"
"Noelle."
The two walked silently with Noelle stealing glances at Emily.
Emily wore red t-shirt which hugged her chest tightly announcing her front assets for people to admire, and white joggers with black floral designs on it. She wore red sneakers to go with it. Her buttocks which were pronounced shook as she walked.
Noelle knew that Emily would be really curvaceous when she was older.
"Why did you stop me?" Noelle asked.
"Well, I was being disturbed by some boys and they wouldn't leave even when I told them to. But then I saw how you rejected the advances of those guys so I decided to follow you. And see, since I did so no one has come to disturb us." Emily answered merrily.
Noelle nodded and kept quiet. An awkward silence followed and Emily felt uncomfortable before trying to make small talk with her. She felt like she was annoying Noelle by walking with her.
Unknown to her Noelle was just annoyed because the sight of her jiggling breasts kept reminding her of lacking cup size.
"You're here to take the test aren't you?" Emily asked.
"Yes, isn't that why we're all here?"
"You're right. What class did you awaken as? I awakened as a Cleric."
Noelle glanced at Emily as they walked, this time a surprised expression on her face.
"You awakened as a Cleric?"
Emily smiled; finally glad to have caught Noelle's attention before replying.
"Yes. It's a hidden class. I researched about it after I awakened and it's a variant of the healer class. I don't really know much about it so I applied to study here. I heard that the school teaches a variety of classes, including hidden classes."
She looked at Noelle before asking.
"What about you? What class did you awaken as?"
"I awakened the Berserker class."
Emily nodded and didn't say anything in return. She didn't like any combat class as she had no combat talent. They kept walking and soon reached the imposing walls.
Like anyone who was seeing the gates for the first time they gaped in shock at the tall walls and huge gates. After collecting themselves they made their way past the gates and entered the school.
Once again they were dumbfounded. The insides of the school were very beautiful. There were paved roads leading to different places in the school grounds. It was like a mini city on its own, capable of housing over 200,000 people comfortably.
The streets were very busy as people moved about, a yearly occurrence at the Imperial High school. The two girls asked around for the direction to the hall for the entrance test.
On their way there they caught a glimpse of the main campus. It was incredibly beautiful with impressive buildings all over the place.
The building that stood out most was the Imperial Hall. It was as tall as a skyscraper and it was built in a very fashionable way. It was the office of the dean and several department heads.
After admiring the school the two girls made their way into the hall they were directed to. When they entered the hall they were directed to a room after by the receptionist after giving them a card with their details on it. It was similar to the card issued after they awakened but this card had the insignia of the high school on it.
They made their way to the room and sat on the empty chairs before waiting for further instructions.
The room was spacious and wide, and it was built like a classroom, with magically powered tabs in attached to each chair.
There were over 900 seats and a major portion of it was filled already. The people present were discussing and murmuring while some were quiet. They were all waiting for the test to begin.
Noelle and Emily waited for 30 minutes before the seats were finally filled up. 67 people more had entered after them before the seats were filled up.
Noelle studied each student who entered after them closely before heaving a sigh of disappointment. Emily noticed this peculiar behavior and asked her about it.
"Are you waiting for someone?"
Noelle turned her attention from the door and looked at Emily before replying.
"I don't know. Probably"
Emily looked at Noelle before facing her attention towards the door.
After the seats were filled as if on cue the door suddenly opened.
Immediately everyone kept quiet as soon as the door opened.
A curvaceous young woman entered the room and glanced at the people seated in their chairs. The woman was dressed in a dark blue gown showing off her curves. She sat down on the chair facing the teenagers present in the room. She bent forward and rested her chin on her arm, the very action showcasing her impressive cleavage.
"Welcome to Aegis Imperial High School. My name is Annabelle and I'll be your examiner for this exam. The exams will be in two parts. The first part will be a theory examination. We'll test you based on the knowledge you've been learning for the past 5 years."
"The passing mark for this examination is 70 marks as the test will be over 100. Anyone who scores below 70 will not be participating in the second examination."
"There should be no noise and no discussion during the examination. Failure to comply with the rules I mentioned will result in failure of the test."
"You have 30 minutes to take this test. As you can see we have magically powered tabs beside each chair. You shall use them to take the tests. That is all. Does anybody have questions to ask?"
There was no response. Everyone was eager to start. Anna nodded her head and was about to give the go ahead before remembering something important.
"Ah, I should let you know, we at Aegis Imperial High School always rank our results. We do such to spark competition among students. So bear in mind that your results will be ranked. Also, there are a total of 100,000 students taking this test. Over 1.6 million people applied to our school this year but we only accepted 100,000. So I should be congratulating you for passing our screening test."
She glanced at everyone and saw them listening with rapt attention before continuing.
"There are a total of 100 classes, with each housing 1,000 students. We would be ranking only the top 200 students from each class. Those who make it to the rankings will be given priority during the second test. So try your best to make it into the rankings. You may start now."
Immediately the teenagers picked up their tabs and started answering the questions on it. Noelle went over each question carefully as did Emily. They were both determined to make it into the rankings.
Although they didn't know what the 2nd test was, the fact that making it into the rankings would make them prioritized served as a huge motivation for them. The hall was as silent as a graveyard as everyone focused on the test.
After 30 minutes, to the reluctance of everyone, a bell rung, this signified the ending of the test. The magically powered tabs automatically ended the tests at the sound of the bell.
"In the next 3 minutes, the tabs will display everyone's rank. You can check the local rankings for your rank in the classroom and the regional rankings for your rank among the 100,000 participants." Anna announced. To her, 3 minutes was a very short time. But to the students, it was the longest 3 minutes of their life.
Suddenly everyone's tabs vibrated before showing their rankings.
Noelle closed her eyes, her heart beating furiously. She fondled the necklace on her neck before opening her eyes. She glanced at the screen before letting out a sigh of relief.
-Name: Noelle Silva.
-Test score: 77/100.
-Local rank: 195.
-Regional rank: 34,143.
Noelle didn't care much about the regional rankings. It was a huge relief to her that she made it into the top 200 in the local rankings.
She glanced at where Emily sat and saw her covering her face with her two hands. She was crying.
Noelle glanced at the tab displayed before sighing.
-Name: Emily Auger.
-Test score: 59/100.
-Local rank: 624.
-Regional rank: 79,928.
She didn't make the pass mark.
Noelle stood up from her seat and consoled her. She hadn't known her for long but she knew she was a kind girl. It was sad that she didn't make the pass mark.
She consoled her for a while before Emily finally stopped crying. She stood up and looked at Noelle before saying.
"Thank you Noelle. Don't worry. I'll find a way to enter this school. Make sure you wait for me! And pass the second test too!"
Noelle nodded her head before replying.
"Hmm. I'll be waiting for you."
Emily then left the classroom. After Emily left, Noelle looked around and saw that only about 300 people remained. Over 700 didn't reach the pass mark.
The people remaining in the hall clustered together and started discussing.
"Hey, what's your rank?"
"187. What about you?"
"192."
"What's your regional rank?"
"Don't even mention that now. I've got over 5 digits in the regional rankings."
"Are you serious? Well I got 5 digits too."
"I wonder who got first rank in the regional rankings. He must be a beast. The tests were too hard!"
"You haven't checked? I know who the top 10 in the regional rankings are!"
"Really?! How?!"
Everyone in the hall turned to the two boys who were discussing as they two were keen on seeing the top 10 in the regional rankings.
Being able to rank in the top 10 among 100,000 people proved that they were geniuses among geniuses. So everyone was curious to see who the geniuses were.
"The names were posted in the tabs a minute ago! You should check it now!"
Everyone, including Noelle quickly picked their tabs and checked it. True to his words the top 10 were posted for everyone to see.
Noelle gasped as she saw the familiar name that had been on her mind since she awakened.
She was dumbfounded not because he was on the list, but because of the number he occupied on the list.
-Name: Lukas Kerr.
-Test score: 100/100
-Local rank: 001
-Regional rank: 001.
Ayleen gaped at the screen in front of her. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.-Name: Ayleen de Etienne.-Test score: 85/100.-Local rank: 042.-Regional rank: 1,389.She made it into the top 50 in the local rankings and top 1500 in the regional rankings. She was feeling good with herself at having a good score when she saw the top 10 on the regional rankings.Lukas Kerr! He was the number 1 on the list! Just how insanely good was he? How could he get a perfect score on the theory test? If she didn't partake in the test she would be obliged to believe that the test was very easy. She suddenly felt like everything she did was a waste. She glanced at the list once more before clenching her fists tightly. She vowed to reach his level and overtake him.The door opened and a middle aged woman entered the room. She was dressed in a white shirt and black skirt with leggings. She was wearing glasses on her eyes and her hair was tied into a bun. She was Mrs. Chandler, the examiner for
The sound of the alarm woke Lukas up from his sleep. He turned over and checked the time on the clock. 7:30 am.Lukas groaned before getting up from the bed. He walked to bathroom and soaked for a while in the bathtub before sighing. The hot water had a therapeutic effect on him. After soaking in the bathtub, he took his bath before exiting the bathroom.Today was a good day for him so he decided to look better than ever. He styled his silver hair, put on a fancy pair of earrings he got for 2 coppers yesterday and he wore his clothes. He did all this while humming to the song blasting from the speakers. After checking himself in the mirror, he nodded in satisfaction at what he saw before heading out of the room.At the same time he opened the door, the door opposite his room opened too.Two pretty girls with blonde hair exited the room opposite his.The girls gasped at the sight of Lukas, as if they had seen a ghost. One of the girls had an ugly expression on her face as if she had ju
-Rakades City, Schedek Kingdom-The scorching sun shone down on the city of Rakades. It was a city close to the Ymir deserts so it was always very hot.The tanned citizens were going about their daily businesses. Merchants could be found at almost every corner of the city, showing how popular the city was. It was a small city with about 50,000 citizens. The people of Rakades were devout worshippers of Arzek. They called him the 'Sun God', as they believed he was responsible for their safety. There were different temples throughout the city, showing how deep their beliefs were.In the biggest temple located at the heart of the city, a curvaceous young woman dressed in a white garment was praying to the statue in a fountain. Her skin was very smooth, and her curves were heavily pronounced, a perfect example of the hourglass figure. Her face was covered in a veil, but it did nothing to offset her beauty, only making her seem like a mysterious beauty.Suddenly she stopped praying. She tur
-Rose City, Hundred Flowers Empire-The Hundred Flowers Empire was a very powerful empire. It was a veteran empire that was well above average in strength. They had cemented themselves as a power not to be trifled with during an incident that occurred 10 years ago, where 4 catastrophe class beasts joined hands together to attack the empire.Everyone had thought that the empire would suffer heavy losses and might be wiped out; but to their shock not only did the empire repel the attack, slaying 2 catastrophe class beasts, they did so while suffering minimum casualties.Since that incident, everyone acknowledged the Hundred Flowers Empire as a superpower. That wasn't the only peculiar thing about the empire. Like the name suggested, there were a hundred cities in the empire. They were all named after flowers, with the smaller cities almost half the size of a kingdom while the larger ones were as big as a kingdom. The combined size of all the cities made the empire encompass a very large
Everyone gasped at the mention of the name. The officers broke out in a cold sweat. Davis grimaced when he heard the name. He was right. They had underestimated the gravity of the issue. The Purple Pavilion was synonymous with devastation. Anywhere the Purple Pavilion appeared only destruction was left in their wake. They were a transcendental organization responsible for the destruction of various cities, kingdoms, and even empires. There was very little information about the transcendental organization, as every information known about them was extremely confidential."I believe everyone present is familiar with the name." General Yuklein stated, scanning the faces of everyone present."From the information given to us by the Magic Association, the Purple Pavilion is on the move. We don't know what their objective is yet but we have been told to be on standby. The next information I want to pass out now is extremely confidential, and once you've heard it there is no going back."Gen
Lukas woke up to the chime of his alarm clock. He turned over and shut down the alarm before getting up.7:12 am. That was the time displayed on the clock. He stood up and saw that his dorm mates were still sleeping peacefully. There were new additions to the room but they were all sleeping, so he couldn't hold a conversation with them.Lukas made his way to the bathroom, which was already occupied by several naked boys. This was nothing new to him, as he had to share the bathroom with his dorm mates while in the military. He took his spot and started washing his body. When he was done, he made his way back to his room and dried off his body. He brought out the uniform he purchased for 50 silver notes, admired it once again before putting it on. He styled his silver hair, which he decided to grow out for a while, before putting on a pair of black earrings. He grabbed his phone and wallet before leaving the dorm.He bought breakfast on the way to his class, while admiring the view in t
"I mentioned earlier that everyone would not learn how to use mana sadly." Mr. Luis said as he looked at everyone present."The first step is Meditation." He said while glancing at everyone present."You all remember your awakening test don't you? You were asked to try and feel mana. During the tests, the orbs used are guided mana stones. They aid your ability to use mana; but to cast mana you will need to do it without aid."Mr. Luis cast his magic and a magic circle appeared. The magic circle was formed slowly this time and 14 symbols appeared before the circle formed."This is a basic magic circle. It has 14 symbols and each symbol must be supplied with mana consecutively before the spell is cast. You will learn how to draw this magic circle before you can cast a basic spell.""Everyone here has a mana circuit and a mana pool. The mana circuits are like wires which we conduct mana with. They draw mana from your mana pool and supply it to the magic circle to cast a spell.""The mana
Noelle walked leisurely through the busy streets of the school. The whole place was brimming with activities. Her silver hair swayed in the wind as she walked, garnering attention from the boys who seemed like hungry wolves. She was dressed in the school uniform, which she gotten at the tailor's shop a few days back for a gold note.It was a different version entirely when compared with the one Lukas and Ayleen wore. Her uniform still followed the outline but the colors were different. Her inner shirt which hugged her chest perfectly was white in color. Her jacket was a deep navy blue and her skirt, which was a bit short, was the same color as her jacket. Her spectacular long legs were also covered with knee high socks. The uniform which brought out her stunning figure and her extremely pretty face served as an incentive to various boys. Her mind was currently occupied with two things so she could care less about the boys who she felt worried too much about outward appearances. The fi
Ciel was still shocked at the identity of the masked hunter. Although she had some suspicions, there were merely suspicions. What were the odds of the masked hunter that was her teammate being Lukas himself? From what she could tell, she could see that Lukas was very experienced as a hunter, even more experienced than her. She easily deduced that Lukas had thoughts along the same line as her after the traumatic experience at the Zivel forests, and decided to increase his strength by becoming a hunter. However, she did not account for the speed at which he grew. By some coincidence, they even managed to join the same guild, and were assigned to the same team, which was the only reason she was able to deduce his identity. With tumultous emotions raging wildly in her heart, she joined the village guards and started to help evacuate the helpless villagers while fighting against the saber toothed tigers, taking a passive stance in the heated battle.Lukas who had no idea that his identity
A surprised expression immediately appeared on Chief Keef's face, and the powerful aura that he had kept hidden suddenly skyrocketed. Without even sparing the three guests in his small hut a glance, he exited the hut in a haste. Amanda glanced at Lukas and Ciel briefly before exiting the small hut, leaving both Lukas and Ciel no other choice than to do so. When Lukas and Ciel appeared outside the small hut, the scene before them was one that they did not expect at all. Several huge monsters could be seen charging at the weak villagers. These monsters were incredibly huge, easily towering the villagers at more than 3 meters tall. They bore an uncanny resemblance to the tigers on earth, with few differences. The teeth of these monsters were incredibly sharp, cutting through the weak defenses of the villagers like tofu, and the four front canines were shaped like sabers, hence their name saber toothed tigers. At a single glance they could see more than fifty saber toothed tigers; an
“What do you think you’re doing in my village?”Amanda swung her wand when she heard the voice, pausing the terrified villager’s fall. The villager had his heart in his mouth at that moment, as his face inches away from the ground. If the voice hadn’t interrupted Amanda from her actions, he had no doubt that he would have been face planted on the hard ground and turned into mashed paste.Lukas and Ciel were both shocked and curious that someone was capable of making Amanda cease her actions. They had no doubt in their minds that the villager was a goner when he mocked Amanda’s outfit. They were instead worried about how they would explain the injury of the villager to the Hunter Association when they submitted their quest report for clearing.Amanda slowly turned around to face the owner of the voice. There was shock in her eyes as she gazed at the chief. She was a silver ranked hunter and a Great Mage, which spoke volumes for her physical strength, but she was unable to sense the chi
The journey to Gien village was a smooth one, albeit a long one. It took seven hours for them to get to their destination, one hour longer than the usual time needed. Throughout the duration of the journey, both Lukas and Ciel maintained complete silence. Lukas instead spent the whole time looking outside the window of the van. He found himself missing Eipi all of a sudden. At least, the journey would not have been this boring. When they arrived at Gien village, the van dropped the three of them off before driving off speedily.Lukas and Ciel looked around the village as soon as they alighted from the van. As the name suggested, Gien village was truly a village. At a single glance both Lukas and Ciel could tell that it was very underdeveloped. The van had dropped them at Gien village, but they still had to walk a short distance before they got to the gate to the village. As the trio walked towards the gate, they ran their eyes around their surroundings. Lukas in particular was very al
The night passed quickly with Lukas following his daily routines which were his usual meditation and exercises. The next morning Lukas woke up early as usual. Amanda had informed them to arrive on time to the Guild building so that they could leave early and get to Gien village on time.Lukas dressed up in his usual hunting outfit, which were his stylish combat clothes, his jacket and most importantly his mask, before exiting the dorm. The dorm was still empty as usual, as the backlash from the attack had yet to die down. Lukas however wasn’t bothered about that. He would use this period to increase his personal strength. That had always been his goal.He took the cab as usual and got to the Guild building early. The meeting room was empty meaning that he was the first to arrive.Only a few minutes passed before the door to the room opened and a beautiful lady with blue hair stepped inside the room.It was of course Ciel. She was also dressed in her combat suit, which was blue in colo
“Denied.” Amanda said authoritatively, twirling her wand as she spoke.Ciel let out a light groan when she heard Amanda’s response. This was the fourth quest she had suggested to Amanda but she had denied it just like the other three she submitted to Amanda.Lukas stood up and handed over a document to Amanda. He didn’t read it this time because Amanda told them not to read out loud anymore. Their voices were sickening and would give her endless nightmares according to her.“Denied.” Amanda said again, still twirling her wand as she spoke.Lukas didn’t groan like Ciel. Instead he just turned and went back to searching for a new quest. After having his quests rejected eight times, twice that of Ciel, he gave up on complaining about the rejection. The time he used to complain was better spent on searching for new quests. He had learned from numerous rejections that his complaints meant nothing to Amanda. And just like that, two hours of their time were spent searching for new quests. Af
The reason for their shock was obvious and understandable. At their level as Basic Mages the feat that their team leader performed was completely shocking to them. Casting a magic spell without the use of a magic circle was something they couldn’t comprehend. They had been taught that it was impossible to cast a magic spell without a medium which was why magic circles were required for casting spells so seeing Amanda cast a magic spell without a magic circle was utterly shocking to them.Amanda paid them no heed. She could clearly see their confused gazes and shock at her method of casting magic but made no plans to explain it to them. Not only was it stressful to do so there was absolutely no need for her to do so. She saw no reason to explain the mystery to them.“These documents contain several quests issued by the Hunter Association. Completing the quests will give us contribution points which in turn can be used to level you both to the silver rank.”Lukas and Ciel leaned forward
A beautiful lady with light blue hair and very curvy body walked in. She was dressed in a fitting hunter’s outfit and at a single glance Lukas could tell that her outfit was enchanted. Her blue eyes that were just as beautiful as her hair scanned the room and came to rest on Lukas. However, her incredibly beautiful face scrunched up into a light frown of confusion when she saw Lukas. For one, Lukas face was as usual covered up with a mask, so she was unable to see his face. His silver hair was now long enough to be packed in a small ponytail, which was what he did.She looked at him for a few seconds before removing her gaze. Hunters were eccentric people anyways. It wasn’t abnormal to see someone wearing a mask.Meanwhile, Lukas was extremely glad that he had decided to wear a mask. The lady wasn’t able to recognize him because of the mask, but he was able to recognize her the instant she walked in.She was none other his senior at Aegis Imperial High School who followed them to the
The new rule passed by the Chairman of the Hunter Alliance created a buzz among the Hunters. As expected, the hunters and Guilds were not welcoming of such rule. They had reported to the Hunter Alliance in hopes of them providing a reasonable solution, but instead all they got was a ban telling bronze ranked hunters not to participate in dungeon runs. Of course they were several bronze ranked hunters or Guilds who disregarded this rule and went ahead on dungeon runs. However their ending was far from ideal. The bronze ranked hunters all had their hunter’s license revoked permanently while the Guilds involved were given a 12 month ban on participating in dungeon runs. A 12 month ban was similar to crippling the Guild’s flow of profit because they couldn’t rely on expeditions alone, needless to say that dungeon runs were twice as profitable as expedition. When several hunters heard the harsh punishment passed on the hunters and Guilds that violated the rule, several bronze ranked hunt
