We're back to cleaning the library today. It does take a while to organize this library, and the space is actually quite large. When Axton offered to come back with him, Monti and I were very pleased. Even some of the inmates were perplexed to see us because we appeared to be quite close to Axton.
If we really were that close, I might be very content. I'm still curious about his life as of this morning. I sometimes wonder if it's disrespectful to think about Axton's passing and life experience, but it does sometimes weigh on my mind.
Perhaps it can be said that now that I am beginning to feel in awe of Axton, my eyes are so transfixed by the strength of the strong man that I can't help but stare at him.
“Robert, what do you see?”
Axton realized if I was looking at him because I gasped.
"Um... uh... Your muscles is absolutely amazing, sir! How could I have muscles like yours? I wondered!”
Although it seems absurd, my rebuttal from just now can be considered quite effective. Axton immediately shook his head and walked back to the top of the closet to retrieve the book.
"Get moving and do your part! Do you wanna die? You can’t called him like that!" Coming from behind, Monti chirped. He gritted his teeth and prodded my arm.
"Robert, you have to work hard if you want muscles like mine. You are undoubtedly the weakest person in this prison, I dare say, of all the inmates. What is your favorite sport?"
Axton suddenly asked me. He was like a father talking to his child as his hands continued to work on tidy up the books. For some reason, I was surprised that he paid enough attention to my sentences just now, and I was ecstatic.
"Not at all, sir. I liked reading a book."
As she descended the stairs in front of the bookcase, Axton turned to face me, grinned sarcastically, and motioned for Monti to come over.
“Come over here, Monti.”
Monti approached with a nervous expression on his face. I'm sure he was frightened and believed Axton would punch him.
"You see? Despite having a thin body, Monti appears to be in good health. Robert, you are incredibly frail and pale. You need to work out frequently, let's start with running, tomorrow morning! Axton said, casually.
"What?! Run early in the day? No! thanks, sir. But I would rather have--."
My friend immediately stopped speaking and looked down like a dog being reprimanded by his mistress as Axton cast a quick, critical glance at Monti.
Actually, I want to do the same thing, but I lack the courage like Monti, who never stops talking and has the guts to respond to every word Axton says. But, sometimes I think, it's really interested. I can take the benefit from getting closer to Axton. I don't know why, but I feel he could be my defender.
I nodded obediently in agreement with Axton's words. I glanced inadvertently in Monti's direction, who glared at me with a frustrated expression.
"That sounds like a wise decision, Sir. But how did Monti and I fare? We are not senior prisoners who can exercise without restriction in the morning," I said.
"Yes! Robert and I won't be able to escape the cell for sure--."
Axton gave Monti another angry look, again, and when I noticed my friend trembling in fear, I couldn't help but laugh.
"What's the point of having a roommate like me among you guys? I'm Axton, and while I don't like fuss, I can make the arrangements I want. We will regularly exercise starting tomorrow and in the days to come, get it? Young man like both of you, have to put on a lot of muscle. Back to the task at hand, NOW, QUICKLY!"
Axton's loud voice yelled at us, and Monti and I both gasped. I still have a warm and happy feeling in my heart, though. It's almost miraculous that a former associate of the terrible mafia already displayed a redeeming quality on the second day of his arrival. What I never anticipated was
"Axton, you have a visitor, today."
A warden officer suddenly appeared and took a position next to the shelf where Axton had placed the books.
"Who is the person?" Axton enquired. He never fix his eyes on the other person. I was quite surprised because it seemed so cool to me for no apparent reason.
"D'Angelo."
Axton quickly turned his head to face the warden officer and gave him a ferocious look. The atmosphere was completely silent. I thought I recognized the name, but then I recalled Monti saying that Axton's cartel was known by the name D'Angelo.
"It's really fascinating!"
I don't know when he came around behind me, Monti whispered in my ear. He had already turned to look at Axton when I turned around. I didn't ask many questions because I didn't want to interrupt Axton's response to the warden.
Axton descended the stairs with her hands balled into fists, exposing the veins in her hands. The warden swallowed his saliva as he shook in terror, and I could clearly see it. In fact, Monti and I both believed that Axton would strike out with the man with the brown hair.
"Juanivo, listen to me! I was relocated here to find a peace. I thought Alberto has been ordered not to give Angelo permission to meet me? It appears that you have received a sizable amount of gold and money! I'm so interested in how far you guys went to dare ask me to see him!"
Axton was already very close to the warden officer and appeared prepared to punch the man in the face. The warden, however, abruptly knelt down and hugged Axton's legs.
"I'm sorry, Sir!. Actually, I have no idea what has already occurred! The head prison just called me to call you! D'Angelo is waiting for you in the VIP room!"
Prak!
Axton hit a portion of the closet very hard as we all gasped. The warden was then forced to stand on equal footing after the warden's collar was pulled. Inadvertently, Monti squeezed my shirt due to his anxiety. I wasn't prepared for it; I had more courage than he did.
"Bring me to the headroom!"
Axton then pushed the body of the officer, who was already in shock. After a few steps, Axton abruptly turned to face us and said, "Do your job! I want the books on the shelf to be organized! I will check it when I'm back!"
Both Monti and I immediately bowed our heads in agreement and said, "Yes, sir."
"That scary man isn't so scary after all! I hope we can get close, because if we do, everyone in this prison will surely be embarrassed by us! " Monti was very happy.I smiled to show that I agreed with what he said. In fact, I want it to happen soon very much. Also, D'Angelo was coming to see him, so Axton would definitely have something interesting to say."Do you know? I want to see D'Angelo's face so badly! Aren't you curious?" Monti turned his head and flicked his eyebrows up and down as he asked me.Right away, I didn't know what was going on and wondered if Monti's invitation was a little off. I immediately shook my head and said, "I see what you mean! But I don't have any plans to do it!""Robert, come on! You really are a bad person. This library is close to the VIP room. We can walk by and catch a glimpse of D'Angelo's face!"Even though I didn't want to, Monti still made me go with him and look into the VIP room where D'Angelo and Axton were meeting. I really want to do tha
Axton's POV "How dare you beat me!" This crazy man got back up from his position, and with a slightly injured face, he tried to throw a punch at me. I really don't want to cause trouble in this new prison, and I just want to be free and take my revenge on D'Angelo. But, it seems that this little cockroach doesn't understand the meaning of my punch just now. "What do you want?" I parried Liam's hand and gripped it tightly. His face was red from the pain. While the other two friends did not dare to move, they just sat with their faces down. "What are you doing? You don't want to help me? Do you want your life to end?!" he said as he turned to his two friends. He seemed emotional because no one was trying to help him. "Before you end their life, you will be the one to end it." I then pushed the body hard, the sound of a body slamming against the toilet door loudly sounded like a rock hitting aluminium. "I don't want to deal with a stinky rat like you, I don't even know who you ar
(Robert's POV)Today feels like the worst day I've ever had.I walked lazily into the cell, nervous. All activities were halted due to the uproar. Everyone was concerned when they looked at me. Bruno, who frequently teased me, approached me and patted me on the shoulder."Don't worry, Robert. You'll be fine."I nodded and walked resignedly to my bed in the corner. I was glued to Axton's bed just before climbing into the bunk upstairs. I'm not sure how the big guy is doing, but I'm afraid things will worsen because he stands up for me."Hey, are you all right?" If you feel uneasy, Robert, you can sleep at my place."I turned to face Monti, standing next to me, and all the other G28 members nodded in agreement."It's fine, I'm fine." I'm just afraid and concerned about Axton. "I... really feel bad...""Hey, lads! Relax, it's Axton's decision. "I don't think he'll blame you, if we look, he seems to like you," Tony said, faintly hearing the others agree with his sentence. When I turned to
(Axton's POV)People like them have severely beaten me for the first time. Angry? Clear. I hate all of them! That damn warden is taking advantage of his emotions on me, who didn't want to speak about D'Angelo's secrets."Shit!"My face is hideous. Bruises and blood predominate. Luckily, my eyes are not blind. Of course, if their blow blinds one side, I'm sure they'll regret making me like this. The blood flowing from my face looks like red wine. If I were a vampire, I might have grabbed it and drank all of this to increase my strength.I stepped out of the bathroom after cleaning myself for almost ten minutes. The boy's face was already standing facing me with a look like a kitten expecting a human caress.I'm sick and tired of being held up by apologies. Although I could get angry and hit him in the face, I wanted to sleep after all the wrong things."S-S-Sir… I-I-I want to say… thank you," said Robert, his voice shaking, it seemed like he was terrified of me."Okay, Robert. Now go b
Robert's POVI don't know if it's just my feelings, but it feels like everyone sees us differently, especially me."Hey, come on! You don't have to look at them all being cynical. Just eat your food, because among us, you're the only one left with a lot of food."The words that came out of Bruno's mouth immediately woke me up. I nodded my head and started eating the food. The imposition of this punishment is excessive. Four officers were surrounding us, and they guarded us closely. As is known, we are not allowed to go outside, and maybe they are worried that we will run away and break the rules. When you think about it, everyone prefers to be in a cell because they don't have to bother doing troublesome activities. Of course, it was boring, but we didn't have to be forced to break rocks or do other activities."Hey, can't we shower?" Tony asked one of the fat officers."No, you should be aware, among all the cells in this prison, G28 is the one that has a bathroom and a toilet. You c
Robert's POV"Come on, Monty!""Just beat Robert!""It's a very easy thing for you, Robert!"All the calls were heard only for Robert. Not one of the many people in this cell mentions my name. I can't blame them because I'm weak. In fact, I'm sure I will lose to Monti in less than a second."Damn, I didn't hear any of Robert's names mentioned. You have to support him!" said Monti with a chuckle. He looked at me with disdain. After a few weeks in this prison, it feels like Monti's face sucks today. Just watch out for him. If a miracle comes to me, he will surely be embarrassed!"I will support, Robert."Axton came back as an angel who saved me. He stood in the crowd and smiled broadly. Instantly everyone was wide-eyed and covered their mouths."It's not fair," said Monti, a frown on his face as if he was jealous that I had the support of a big-time mobster."This is very fair, Monti. Even you have the support of nine people, while he only has one support from an old man like me," said
Robert's POVThree days have passed, and it doesn't feel like everything is done. We have been able to return to our activities outside the cell today. The one thing I want is to take a shower in peace and clean my whole body.I wouldn't mind about the sentence that continues to languish in the cell. I'm happier because I'm lazy to do activities outside. The others also agreed with what I said."Huh! Why did it all have to end, I still want to sleep in here," said Monti with a sleepy face."Yes, but we can't stand you, Monti. Your body smells really bad and your stomach is getting bigger," Thomas said, accompanied by laughter from the others. One thing that caught my attention this morning was Axton. Since then, he had looked very pale. I don't know why. It seems like he's sick. I've asked how he feels, but Axton didn't answer. Instead, he just smiled as if to say he was fine."EKHEM!"From the direction of the cell door, two prison officers seemed to come with annoying faces. For som
Axton's POV"Miley! Miley!"I could see my son's body walking away towards the white light. I knew it was Miley, even though I hadn't seen her in a dozen years.I'm still trying to catch up to Miley, and I put all my strength into screaming for her."Miley, wait for me!"My legs feel very heavy, even though we are not far apart. I tried to move my feet which seemed to be hanging by this rock. My heart keeps hoping that he doesn't go any further.I miss my son and want to see his face, even if only for a moment. I also wished for Maria to be among us.It felt like we were only a few inches apart. When I was about to reach for her shoulder, Miley suddenly turned to me with a big smile on her beautiful face."Dad, don't follow me. I just came to see you, it's not time for you to follow me yet," Miley said softly. He turned around and grabbed my shoulder. Her body looks shining, and I can't help but cry. The last time I saw him was very young. Since I went to prison, he had never seen me.
