005. Time to Start the Little Revenge

"Sorry Claire, I must do that..." Leon thought inside.

He knew without business with Jensen's family, Claire's company would face a big risk. But now that he divorced her and back to his family, he must made this decision.

Business is business.

If they were all business of Jensen's, it wouldn't be a problem.

But now...

"Young Master, so are you going to stop this cooperation?" asked the general manager once more, he wanted to confirm the order.

"Yes, I'm sure. Please stop cooperating," Leon ordered.

"Very well, Young Master. As you wish."

In a different corner of the ballroom, Claire was partying with some businessmen. She smiled very kindly at them because she knew this could be a good opportunity for her to broaden her company's connections.

They took their drinks from the waiter, who walked over with a tray filled with drinking glasses.

"Cheers!" Claire toasted with two men, namely Noah Hensen and David Stern.

"Mrs. Claire, how are you today? Nice to meet you at the party," said Noah Hansen, the owner of several companies engaged in several fields. Of course, the people attending the Jensen family's party were from high society. They also feel honored if they can be invited by the Jensen family, considering this family is very influential and their company would not cooperate carelessly.

"I'm great, Mr. Noah. How about you?" she replied.

"I am also fine. I'm very happy to be able to come to this party and meet lots of great people like you," said Noah, who indirectly praised Claire.

"Thank you very much. You guys are much more experienced than me," said Claire while looking at Noah and David in turn.

"But I heard that your company already has extraordinary achievements. That is a very good achievement, especially since your company is less than five years old," replied David.

Claire shrugged her shoulders. "I worked really hard for it. I started from the bottom."

"And your hard work has paid off," David responded.

"What made me really happy was when Jens Creative Enterprise gave my company the opportunity to work with them." Claire told them about her proudest achievement, and she was sure the two men would be very impressed to hear it.

"Jens Creative Enterprise?" Noah and David gasped at Claire's words. They looked at each other in astonishment. Even the company they own has never worked with the company. As it turned out, Claire's company's capabilities even surpassed their expectations.

"Wow, that's so amazing! You're so great! Even our request for cooperation has not yet been approved," said Noah.

"Besides being invited to this party, it turns out that you have a partnership with this family-owned company," David chimed in.

Claire smiled proudly at the compliments from the men. "Thank you very much, I'm sure you guys can do it too. There are lots of opportunities to try."

"It seems that your company's products are not ordinary products, they are definitely of high quality because the proof is that this family wants to work together. Therefore, I want to try ordering some products from your company," said Noah.

"I also want to try ordering some products from your company," added David.

“Okay, wait a minute!" Claire opened her bag and took out her business card. "Here are my contacts. You can contact me for further cooperation." Claire gave the card to Noah and David.

"I'll call you later."

Claire didn't expect that now she would have successfully become a businesswoman because a few years ago, she was just a poor university student.

Claire thought that her success was due to her own efforts. However, she was totally wrong. The company's success was due to help from Leon, but now the woman throws him away like trash. She never knew her ex-husband's role was so important in her life's journey.

David and Noah averted their eyes. They waved slightly at the two women. It seemed they both knew the woman.

"Do you know them?" asked Claire, eyeing the two men in front of her curiously.

"Yes, they are my business partners," said David.

Claire's gaze focused on the two exquisitely beautiful women. She noticed the branded clothes and bags they wore. 'That bag is so nice, I don't have it yet,' Claire thought. Suddenly, Edward stood beside Claire after being separated from her for a while to meet his other business partners, who were also present at this party. He just joined them.

"Did I miss something, Claire?" Edward asked.

Claire immediately turned her gaze towards the man as she shrugged her shoulders. "There aren't any. We were just chatting about business," she replied.

Edward squinted. Seeing the happy aura on Claire's face made him so curious. "You seem very happy," Edward said.

"I received several cooperation offers. It's so amazing. I am very grateful that this family company cooperates with my company, so I have gained a lot of trust." Claire told her happiness.

"I'm so glad to hear that, you did great, Claire!" Edward was a businessman who came from one of the most prominent families in the city. That was their first meeting in person because they usually communicate via phone. If there was any business matter, Edward often ordered his subordinates to meet with Claire.

Edward stared at Claire's face and glanced deeply into her ocean blue eyes. He seemed to sink into it. Claire looked very beautiful, even prettier than in the photo.

"Hello, Edward!" Claire waved her palm in front of Edward's face, snapping the man out of his reverie.

"Ah, I'm sorry, Claire," said Edward with a shy smile.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"I'm fine, just a little surprised when I saw you," Edward replied.

"Surprised to see me?" Claire blinked her eyes in confusion. "Is there something wrong with me?"

"No, there's nothing wrong with you. It's just that I was surprised to see a woman as beautiful as you," said Edward.

Claire blushed. "Thank You." She realized that her beauty could attract rich men from respectable families, so why did Claire have to stick with Leon, the useless man? That was what Claire thought until she finally divorced Leon.

In the middle of their conversation, suddenly Claire's cell phone rang. Claire immediately took her cell phone out of her bag and looked at who was calling her.

Claire smiled, looking at the name of the person who called her, She was sure there would be good news after this. "Just a moment, I'll pick up the phone first," she said to the men in front of her while showing her phone screen proudly.

"Good night, Mrs. Claire," said the general manager of Jens Creative Enterprise.

"Good night, sir."

"Sorry to interrupt, Mrs. I have something important to tell you."

Claire frowned, she felt curious. "What is it, sir?"

"We decided to end our cooperation with your company."

"You want to end our cooperation?" Claire was so gasped.
