239. A Nightmare

"I don't know him, and I hit him because he dared to touch my wife," said Leon in a cold voice. The man immediately walked away, leaving Elena, who was still staring at him.

Elena sighed. She felt something was wrong. “I've never seen Leon like this. There must be something he's hiding," she muttered suspiciously.

"Edward, come here; I want to talk to you."

Edward got up from his seat after hearing a woman's voice calling him from outside his bedroom door.

"Who?" responded Edward, who was still standing in front of his desk.

“Edward, help me. I need your help." The woman's voice sounded increasingly whiny. Edward started to panic. On the one hand, he felt doubtful, but on the other hand, he didn't want to ignore the woman's request for help.

"Okay, I'll be right there," replied Edward. With heavy steps, the man walked towards the door.

The woman's voice could no longer be heard, but the door to Edward's room continued to be knocked repeatedly.
