242. A Regret

An ambulance came and took Wilhelm to the hospital. Max and Samuel—their lawyer—went to the hospital to take the man.

Meanwhile, Edward was still standing there, frozen, and his gaze looked full of regret. He didn't regret admitting his mistake, but he regretted why he had to get drunk that night and ended up bumping into Mrs. Garcia.

If only he didn't do that, then he wouldn't have to live in the shadow of regret or have his family's dignity threatened.

“Edward.” Leon's voice diverted Edward's gaze.

The man looked at Leon with teary eyes. They stared at each other, and then Edward knelt at Leon's feet.

“Leon, please forgive me. I was the one who hit your grandmother; I was the perpetrator. I am willing to spend time in prison as long as I don't feel this regret and fear for the rest of my life. I will take responsibility," he said with tears streaming down his cheeks.

Leon was pensive when he saw Edward kneeling down at him. He took a deep breath and asked Edward to stand up.
