The Curse Of the Black Diamond

    Reece,over time has grown in his power using it for good but still can't stand the discrimination he gets from women. He is highly lauded by his work at the NIA but can't secure himself a woman. He sees Elizabeth who off late has been avoiding him and approaches her;"Heey Elizabeth how are you doing? It's been quite a while now, what have you been up to?" Reece asks her."Stay away from me Reece,I don't want to be tagged as the agent who smiles with the worst guy here, have you taken a look at yourself in the mirror lately, you disgust me and I don't know what I saw in you earlier" replied Elizabeth in the mist of other agents at the NIA and Reece felt ashamed of himself as they laughed at him. 

   He apologized to her and left the office in pain. "Upon a billion people in the world,Why did it have to be me,why did I even investigate into this case earlier,all I wanted was the safety of the nation and now I can't even have a family of my own? Arrrgh" he said to himself trying to get rid of the Diamond and after many attempts he failed to take it out of his chest. 

  Sam heard the whole incident as it was rumored about in the agency and went out to search for Reece. Sam called him to find his whereabouts but Reece told him that he needed some time alone to think about himself. 

    He wanted to know what the near future held for Elizabeth and if there would be a chance for him to get her, he closed his eyes and with her in mind he said reveal, and what he saw broke him into pieces.

He saw Elizabeth getting married to another man which wasn't him and it was going to happen the following week.

 "What have I done to deserve such pain, this was the lady I planned to build a family  with but now it's too late" he said as he wept bitterly. He then received a call from Mr.Norman telling him to return to work immediately; hearing this, he cleaned up his tears and headed to the office when he got there, Mr.Norman sent for Reece. When he got there, Mr.Norman said to him,"Reece,you can't let your emotions get in the way of your job there are cases to be solved,criminals to be caught,you can't let such things distract you."

 "It's easy for you to say,only if you knew how it felt, knowing that the rest of your life is gonna be you alone till death leaving no continuous generations behind. So cold. At least you have the chance to fall in love unless maybe you decide not to but I don't " Reece said out of pain. "Reece remember who you're talking to,I'm your boss"Mr.Norman replied "I'm so sorry sir" Reece said "You know what take a break and come back tomorrow" said Mr.Norman as Reece thanked him and left his office to pack his stuff. He met Sam on his way and as Sam tried to speak he told Sam"Not now bro"

Sam told him,"I'll join you home and there's this spot I know,you've got to relax your mind bro,come on it's now 6:30pm we can go there and have some drinks and leave early" Reece agreed and they left.

       By 7:00pm, they arrived at the bar and ordered some drinks and began to have a conversation."Reece I heard what happened at the office" said Sam as Reece said he didn't want to talk about it.

There were ladies passing by who made eye contact with Sam signaling him that they were interested in him but when they looked at Reece they quickly turned and moved on. Reece noticed and said to Sam,"You know I really envy you a lot cause you have the chance to find love and have a family of your own.

" Sam said" That's true but you're also the best agent in the NIA and have a lot of reputation I envy that. I'm sure there'll be a solution to your problem one day" Reece thanked him for his encouraging words and touched him on the shoulder as he saw something terrible but kept it to himself. 

  After having a couple of drinks, they were both drunk and went home to sleep but what Reece saw troubled him a lot.
