Part 13

The house was quiet. Alberto folded the newspaper and placed it on the glass table in the center of the sofa.

One of the servants who worked with him passed by carrying cleaning tools. Alberto called out, the servant turned around and approached his master.

"Where is my wife? Is Claire still in her room?" asked Alberto looking upstairs for a glimpse.

"Yes, sir," replied the servant nodding.

"Claire didn't come out at all?" Alberto asked again.

"No, sir. Madame Claire asked me and the other maids to take care of her today. She said she was too lazy to leave her room."

The maid's explanation was enough. Alberto asked the servant to go back to work. Meanwhile, he was about to go to his room to see Claire.

I don't know if it was just Alberto's feeling or not. This morning Claire seemed to have deliberately not come to the dining room because she was still angry about last night's dinner.

Alberto let out a long sigh. Isn't Claire's nature very childish if that's true? Alberto didn't expect
