When the meeting was over, Victoria and Richard stayed away from each. Victoria's countenance was indifferent so Richard could not tell if she was actually angry with him. Richard remained at the dining hall cleaning up the place. "I hope she doesn't get too angry, I just need more time," Richard thought.
Meanwhile Victoria lay on the large bed video chatting with her cousin, Emmie, she was not opportune to attend the party. "How was the party," Emmie inquired.
"It was successful," Victoria replied with a smile.
"I can see through you and I don't need a soothsayer to know I wasn't."
"How do you mean."
"My sister told me everything that happened."
Victoria sighed. "Then what is this chat for."
"Victoria you can't keep doing this to yourself, you need to divoice that man and get someone more suitable for you.
"I am not complaining."
"Just looked at the embarrassment he caused you today. I was even informed that he made aunt faint at the party."
"That is not what happened, my mum was being too emotional."
"Too emotional? I mean how could you Vicky, you lied to your own family because of a man?'
"I knew mum was certainly going to skin me alive if she discovered that the man I intented to get married to was a school drop out. So I had to lie to her that he graduated from college."
"That was too bad of you."
"I know right and I accept my mistake. I thought I could easily get him a job in the company but mum has been proving difficult. I regret ever getting married to him and I intend to divorce him soon."
" Good to hear, I think that is the greatest decision you have ever made. I think your mum will even offer him some money to start a new life. I have to go now, I will send a video to you, you will love it," Emmie said and hang up.
A few minutes later, Victoria's phone beeped. It was the Video Emmie promised to send to her. "Oh shit," Victoria exclaimed, it was the Video of Mrs. Luci's fainting at the discovery that her son-in-law was a school dropout. And Richard's grand announcement of his new job.
"Who did this," Victoria exclaimed.
"You don't have to worry about who did it, I got it from the family's group chat, it's already public," Emmie wrote.
"No! no!! no!!!" Victoria sobbed.
At this point Richard banged the door open, he was done with the clean up."
"What are you doing here" Victoria inquired angrily.
"I don't get you."
"What do you mean you don't get me."
"Both of us share this room though you never let me come close to you. It's already night and I am exhausted after all the day's work."
"Take a look around," Victoria ordered.
Richard's head spun in a 180-degree motion, there was something strange about the room. That was it, his belongings, there were no longer in the small corner they used to be.
"Did you finally decide to move my things to the master wardrobe?" Richard inquired.
"You should know me better."
"Then where are they."
"In the kitchen, that will be your bedroom for now until I decide otherwise."
"But why are you doing this to me?" Richard questioned.
"Don't you think I should be the one asking you that question? Why have you decided to ride me of my joy and honor? Why are you always causing me shame and embarrassment, What crime did I ever commit getting married to you."
"I am sorry," Richard said.
"Just leave my presence, you disgust me."
Richard bowed his head in shame as he headed to his new room. When he was away from Victoria, he smiled to himself. It was Actually what he needed, enough privacy to draw out his plan. Now he will have to convince his father to do him a little favor with his influence.
As he got to the Kitchen, his phone rang. He reached out to it, it was a call from his father's personal secretary, she had always been loyal to her father.
"What do they want again," Richard whispered aloud.
"Reluctantly, Richard answered the call. "Good day Richard," Miss. Evelyn greeted. She was used to calling him by his real name and Richard loved it.
"Good day Miss Evelyn," Richard replied.
"Sorry to disturb you by this time of the night, but we are having a serious problem."
"What is it," Richard inquired.
"Hmm, the fact is... you see," Evelyn stammered.
"Stop beating around the bush, tell me what the problem is. How is my father anyway."
"The problem is actually with your
father."
"What is wrong with him," Richard said worriedly.
"Sir, he passed on,"
"Shit," Richard exclaimed, tears flowing freely from his eyes. His voice cracked and he feel to the ground. But he had to compose himself.
"Sir, they are a lot of complications surrounding his death, this place is not even safe for this call."
"What complications," Richard inquired.
"Sir, he was poisoned."
Richard felt heartbroken, he wasn't there when his father needed him most.
"Has his killers been caught?"
"No, that is not the only problem we at facing now. Sir, you need to return and take over your father's company, just your finger print as is heir and all this madness will stop."
"What madness," Richard inquired.
"Your cousin Williams has taken over the company and he is gradually eating deep into the business fund. I know what it took for your father to build this business group, you have to return."
"I can't return, can't you administer the business for some time?"
"Richard, I have been able to hide the existence of some branches of the company but I will not be able to do that for long."
"Okay, I will return as soon as I can but before then, I will send a private investigation team to look into my father's death."
"Okay, young master, we will be waiting for your coming. I have to go now."
Richard sat on the bare floor of the kitchen, now he had two cases before him, the vengeance of his father and his vengeance. Now, he was in a perfect position to take his revenge on the Weldom. First, he will offer them a partnership. Then, he will cut their funding, it will be a big blow.
But there was something he missed, he needed the photos of this William's cousin. Quickly he picked up the phone and gave Evelyn a phone call.
"I forgot something, can you please send me William's pictures?"
"Right away" she replied.
A few minutes later his phone beeped, and the pictures had arrived. Four of them.
"This will do, he hasn't changed that much anyway," Richard noted.
"Right now the only thing I want to to is cry my heart out," but he knew that would not be possible, what excuse would he give to Victoria. "So great," he sobbed quietly. "Another partof m heart broken and I can not even mourn,"
" Wake up sleeping head," Richard heard someone screaming. It was Victoria and she was looking furious. Immediately Richard noticed that it was already morning and he was filled with awe. He had over slept. "I am very sorry Victoria, I will prepare your meal right away," Richard apologized. "Right now, do you know what the time is?" Victoria yelled. "I am very sorry," Richard apologized again. "Will your apology put food on my table? Oh, I know why you did this, cause I made you sleep on the floor in the kitchen right." "No, Victoria, I will never do that." "You want me to go to work on an empty stomach as a punishment right," Victoria said angrily and attempted to slap Richard but Richard stop hands halfway in the air. He was so emotionally down and he needed some love, not another trouble. Richard and Victoria exchanged a meaningful glances as they did when they first meant. Then Richard did the forbidden, he kissed Victoria passionately. At first, Victoria liked it t
Richard was exhausted. He just finished washing the pile of dirty clothes Victoria left before leaving for work. Clumsily, he journeyed to the master bedroom and fell face-up on the bed. "Life sucks," he exclaimed. Then, his phone rang. The caller was Victoria. "Hello," Richard greeted. "Please come get me for work, I am feeling dizzy and can't drive." "But," Richard tried to say something but he changed his mind. "Are you trying to say something?" "'Yes, how will I get to your office, I don't have money to get a cab." "That's why I called you two hours earlier, you know what to do," Victoria ended and hanged up. When Richard eventually got to the office, he was in-between life and death. Victoria was already standing beside the car. She was staring at her wristwatch. "What took you so long? Or did you go to visit a female friend?" Richard was mute. Please start the car, I am exhausted. Richard got into the car and started the engine. Halfway through their journey,
"So what are you going to do about Richard," Rachael continued. "That would not pose a problem, we will cross that bridge when we get to it." "The fact that he took my Virginity will be enough to convince him that I am not married before now. As for Richard, a few dollars will shut him up," Victoria thought. "I will break this good news to mum tomorrow," Rachael ended and hung up. "Why are you staring at me that way," Victoria inquired. "I never knew the woman I got married to was this shameless." "Call me shameless again and you will rot the jail and I assure you, nobody will miss you." "But I thought you hated the Armstrong family," Richard said. "When did we discuss anything about the Armstrongs," Victoria inquired. "During our courtship." "I said that because I was jealous. But that doesn't matter now, I will soon be married to one of them." "You won't dare," Richard threatened. "You don't have to worry, I will persuade grandma to compensate you with a milli
At late Mr. Davis Armstrong's Villa. At about three am, Ken pulled the cover away from his body, so as not to disturb Danxo, the man assigned to keep a close eye on him. His mission tonight was to take a shot of the evidence that states Williams as Mr. Davis's true murderer and send It to Richard. It was a short note written by Mr. Davis with his signature before his death. Ken knew he would not be able to keep it for long in the Villa, before one of Willam's guards find it. When he returned to the Villa, he informed Williams that he had been away for a while because his mother was very sick and the former owner of the Villa permitted him to go and take care of his sick mother. Though Williams had some doubt about the former security officer, Ken knew he was going to retain him. Especially, to keep a close eye on him. Immediately Ken was retained, he was assigned to share a new room with Danxo but he knew that his new roommate's mission was to keep a close eye on him. A countl
It was Saturday morning. Richard sat down on the sofa hmming a sorrowful tune as tears flow down freely from his eyes as he remembered the death of his father and what Victoria did to him the previous night. He had decided not to do anything today, even if it means the house would be covered with dust. It didn't matter anymore, Victoria had decided to divorce him. Meanwhile, Victoria remained in her room, bursting into short laughter at regular intervals. She was chatting with her friend Elsa. Richard knew the laughter was made towards annoying him but he refused to be moved. Then, the doorbell rang. Reluctantly, he answered the call and his eyes met with someone he did not want to see, not today. It was Lady Tashia and her bad mouth. "Good morning grandma, great to see that you are looking happy today," Richard complimented trying to fake a happy look. "Do you mean I am always sad?" the old lady returned coldly. "I think it is high time you are kicked out of this house. Such a w
A few hours later, Richard was done with the house chores and almost with cooking. He just had to take the meal to the dining table. He took the fried rice from the burner and dished it into a Large dish. When he was done, he sealed it up. As he was about to take them to the dining, Lady Tashia screamed his name, interrupting him. "Richard," she yelled. "Are you deaf? come down here this minute." "Okay grandma," Richard yelled back. He left what he was doing to answer her call. Meanwhile, Rachael who had been secretly watching him from afar saw this as an opportunity to carry out the evil plan she Intended when she volunteered to join Richard to prepare the meal. As she got to the kitchen door, she spun her head left and right to ascertain that he was really away. "He is gone," She smiled to herself and straightened up. She got close to the burner where Richard kept the food. She opened the lid of the large dish and took a bit of the fried rice. "Great taste," she exclaimed.
"Get me a glass of water garbage," someone screamed from the other end of the table. "I want one too," another screamed. Richard felt like tearing apart as the yell of his name filled the air. Sweat flowed down from his face like a stream of water. "Hey Victoria, Why is your husband so lazy. Just a few calls and he is already sweating? What if he has a job like the rest of us, what will happen to him," David said. He was Victoria's favorite cousin, Lady Tashia's favorite, and Richard's major stalker. He wasn't around at the last business meeting because he traveled for an international conference. "He will melt away," Charles laughed. "Lemme alone," Victoria said smiling. "Enough of all this, the meeting will begin right away," Lady Tashia said. Her voice was so soft but it carried so much authority with it. At her words, the place became as silent as a graveyard. "Mum, don't you think we should take our meal first," Mrs. Lucis inquired. "Okay. Trash bag, what did you m
Meanwhile, Williams Armstrong, the new manager of the Armstrong business group was celebrating his new position with his best friends, Lawrence and Joshua at Legus Hotel, the most classic hotel in the city. On their table were three glasses of Lickis wine, sold at the rate of half a million dollars per glass Lawrence, one of William's friends sat in his chair like someone trying to hide something. His eyes were filled with fear and he shifted on his chair at regular intervals. "Guess who I met yesterday," Williams said smiling sheepishly. "You know we aren't good at guessing," Joshua replied. "Speak for yourself," Williams said. "What about you Lawrence." "How am I supposed to know," Lawrence returned. "I met Victoria," Williams announced. "Who is Victoria again? What about Isabella," Lawrence said. "Let him finish before you attack him," Lawrence said. "Exactly my point. This time it is not all about relationships, it is something else." "We are listening," Lawrence said
