“This has never happened before,” Zane Vortex exclaimed as he watched the massive crowd gathered for the second phase of the competition. Normally, such crowds only appeared for the finals, but for some reason, they had all come early.

“I guess they all heard about the impossible swordsman who made history and are eager to see him in action,” one of the commentators added.

“Yes, and they also want to watch Leon Ignis perform his magic. The way he dominated the first phase was mind-blowing,” Zane said, glancing at the VIP section where Mr. Tilo Ignis, the richest man and Leon's father, was seated.

“There are a lot of important figures here, even the elven academies sent their representatives.”

“Of course. Since they will be hosting the next Multiversal Convergence, I'm sure many other realms have sent spies to assess the strength of Earth's champion.”

The commentators continued their discussion while the audience settled in to watch the second phase.

“Hello, Miss Seraphina,” Mr. Tilo g

His confidence was through the roof because of the allies surrounding him. There was no way Dante would be able to win against this many awakeners.“Your boyfriend is about to learn the difference between fighting a horde of brainless monsters and skilled awakeners,” he smirked. “Besides, he has a surprise waiting for him before he gets here.”On his way to Aria, Dante’s path was blocked by a competitor.“I would appreciate it if you let me pass. I need to save Aria,” Dante said calmly.“I am Adam,” the competitor responded, ignoring Dante's plea. “I was recruited by Howard to fight you alongside the others.”“Then why are you here alone?”Adam sighed and looked up. “My father once told me that in life, only two things are bound to happen: you either win or lose. If you win, do it with dignity. If you lose, do so with honor. So you see, if I were to fight you with

Dante arrived at the scene swiftly, his sharp gaze scanning for any signs of injury on Aria. A sigh of relief escaped his lips when he saw that she was unharmed."The hero came to save the damsel. How touching," Howard mused, a smirk tugging at his lips.Dante ignored him completely, his focus solely on Aria. He strode toward her, his steps unhurried yet filled with quiet confidence. The others had witnessed his merciless slaughter of an entire horde of beasts, but standing this close to him was an entirely different experience. Though his sword remained sheathed and his expression betrayed no anger, his aura was razor-sharp, pressing against them like an unseen blade."Are you alright?"Aria offered a sad smile. "Yes, but I’m sorry. I’ve only made things more difficult for you."Dante chuckled. "Not at all. I actually enjoyed hearing everyone refer to you as my woman." He leaned down, meeting her gaze.Aria’s eyes wavered. "Aren’t you angry that I’m weak and can be used against you?"

Howard couldn’t believe his eyes. His meticulously crafted plan had crumbled in an instant, shattered by the overwhelming might of Dante. It had taken mere moments. He looked around, his stomach churning at the sight of his allies sprawled across the ground, their limbs severed. And yet, he realized with a shudder—it was mercy. They should have been teleported away by the emergency device before Dante's blade could fully claim them. But that hadn’t happened. Which meant one thing.Dante's sword had been faster than the device itself.Howard swallowed hard, dread sinking into his bones. If Dante had aimed for their necks instead, they would all be dead. He came to realize that in front of absolute power, strategy means nothing.“Wow, even the device couldn’t save them from Dante’s fury. Why do you think that happened?” one of the commentators asked Zane, voice thick with disbelief.“There’s only one explanation,” Zane responded, eyes fixed on the battlefield. “Dante’s sword was faster

Dante was aware that the audience would think him mad, for never had the competition ended in the second phase.“That’s madness. It’s impossible to end the competition in the second phase,” Steve stated.“We would never know until we try,” Dante smirked. He had already eliminated most of the A-ranks, and now he was mostly left with the S-ranks.“Do you know one of the reasons why S-rankers don’t fight each other during the second phase of the competition?”“Isn’t it because they’re confident the top ten spots belong to them, so they avoid fighting each other too early?”“That’s one reason. But the main reason is that at the end of the second phase, an S-rank monster is released. It’s so powerful that it always takes the combined effort of the S-rankers to deal with it. The second phase only ends when the monster is slain. If it isn’t by the time the clock runs out, everyone fails the competition. That means there would be no final, and the shame would fall equally on everyone.” Steve

By nightfall, Dante had eliminated more than a dozen S-rankers, and everyone feared that if this continued, Dante might actually end the competition in the second phase. The only ones spared from Dante's wrath were the A-ranks and below. He had ordered them to spread his agenda and eliminate themselves after delivering the message. The audience watched in utter disbelief as Dante ran rampant in the competition, and no one could stop him. Even the S-rankers, who had heard how easily Dante could defeat other S-rankers, began to fear facing him. At first, they had dismissed the rumors, but after hearing it from multiple competitors, they started to believe the terrifying truth.Dante, however, decided to rest, for he was exhausted. Although he might not show it, his mana was nearly depleted. Taking down the S-rankers had been more difficult than he had anticipated. After all, they were S-rank for a reason. The major advantage Dante held over them was his experience, and he knew that, to

Dante had started his hunt for the S-rankers again, and it appeared as though he had gotten stronger. On the other hand, the S-rank monster had finally made its appearance. It descended from the sky, and all in the competition saw it. Since the number of competitors had dwindled, many no longer had any hope of winning against such a monster. So, they planned to drag Dante down with them. As for Dante, he was excited to fight the monster. He abandoned his hunt for the remaining S-rankers and headed toward the creature, unaware that he was already late—someone else was already standing before the monster alone.Above, the sky darkened, ominous clouds swirling as thunder rumbled through the air. His limbs felt like lead, his muscles burning from the relentless battles he had endured. Still, he maintained his composure, even as he reached into his pocket, pulled out a small vial, and downed his medication in one swift gulp.Aria watched him closely. “You didn’t take it earlier, did you?”“Of course not,” he admitted. “I wasn’t about to show any sign of weakness in front of the audience or my enemies.”Aria sighed but let it slide. “What have you done?!” Dante’s voice thundered through the sky, drawing the attention of both humans and demons alike. All eyes turned upward to see him hovering midair, radiating fury.“I told you, your worst mistake was attacking our village,” one of Adam’s sisters sneered from within a large cage, already captured along with other villagers. The demons hadn’t come to massacre; they came to kidnap, which was why most of the villagers were still alive, caged like animals. Only a few had been unlucky enough to die in the struggle.“Will this be a problem?” one of the demons asked their leader, nodding toward Dante.“A problem?” the leader scoffed. “When have humans ever been a problem? Even if their so-called S-rankers showed up, we’d still wipe them all out. We were ordered to leave no witnesses.”He wasn’t wrong, demons were stronger than humans. Stronger than other races, in fact. But Dante was no ordinary human.“I’ll just drag him down and kill him,” muttered the demon, still gri

  • Arriving In His Village

Dante and Sylvia stood just outside the dungeon, both breathing a deep sigh of relief. After months of survival and battle, they had finally made it out. Behind them, the ground trembled as the dungeon slowly sank into the earth, a clear sign that the once-unconquerable stronghold had finally been defeated."It's the Princess!" an elf warrior called out, drawing everyone's attention. The group rushed toward Sylvia and Dante.Though grateful to be alive, Dante’s thoughts were already elsewhere, on Vida and Aria. He needed to see them as soon as possible, to let them know he was safe. He’d been gone for far too long, and with his phone dead and no way to charge it inside the dungeon, he knew they’d be worried sick.“Princess, I need to go home. I have to let everyone know I’m okay. I’ll come find you later,” he said gently.Sylvia’s heart sank at his words. She didn’t want to part from him, not after everything they had just been through. But she understood.“Alright,” she said with a t

  • A Way Home

With the arrival of the demons, there were now five races competing in the tournament. Each had five representatives, making a total of twenty-five participants. Since the tournament was set to begin the next day, everyone chose to retire early. They had hoped to hold a gathering, but the presence of the demons cast a heavy shadow over the idea. Though Mikhail claimed they came in peace, no one could truly predict what a demon might do. Each race decided it was best to caution their youth and ensure they did not underestimate the demon representatives.“You shouldn’t underestimate the demons, or the humans,” King Dwargo warned his delegates. “Though demons are known for their destruction, humans are not as simple as they appear. We often mock them as the weakest, but we know they hold the greatest potential.”He sighed, recalling the tournament where Lucian had defeated all of their representatives. Though dwarves don’t live as long as elves, they still outlive humans. When Lucian was

  • Demons Demand

Everyone was surprised to see the demon race arriving at the tournament. The demons had never shown any interest in the event before. All they ever seemed to crave was pillaging and destruction. With their sudden appearance, the kings and powerful figures across the realms instinctively stood to defend their young ones.“I understand why you're all on edge because of our arrival,” Mikhail said calmly, unfazed by the hostile gazes of the human awakeners, Elven mages and warriors, or even the dwarves and beastkin. He stood there, relaxed—almost as if he could wipe them all out on a whim.“My fellow kings,” he continued, “I simply want my young ones to participate in the tournament.”“King?” Alarion muttered, stunned. It was unheard of for the demons to use that title. They had always followed a demon lord, the strongest among them, but never a king.“Yes, king,” Mikhail affirmed. “After we overthrew the tyrant, we decided it was time to become more civil. To come together as one. Look a

  • Arrival Of The Demon King

With Sylvia connected to Dante, he instantly felt refreshed."Would you look at that?" Dante smirked as he stood up again to face the remaining monsters."Don't worry about mana, lay them to waste." Sylvia knew that she had enough mana to make Dante fight nonstop."You heard the lady, you all face obliteration." Dante engaged the monsters for the second time—only this time, he wasn’t scared to use mana-draining skills since he had someone with an almost limitless mana pool.Meanwhile, back in the Elven realm, the competition had just started, and with Dante absent, Leon stood as the human champion.Nobody knew the whereabouts of Dante—even Lucian was nowhere to be found—so there was no one to explain his absence."Maybe the boy realized he had reached his limits, so in order not to embarrass himself, he decided not to come," Mr. Tilo stated, and many believed him.Leon hated the fact that Dante was absent because he wanted to show Dante how strong he had gotten in one year."You haven

  • One Against Ten

Dante could feel it in the weight pressing down on his chest, in the way the ground seemed to hum beneath his boots. He stood just in front of the ancient monument where the Seed of Yggdrasil floated, a sphere of green-gold light pulsing softly above a carved pedestal of runes. Beside him, Sylvia remained silent, her wide eyes fixed on the monsters that had gathered around them.Without hesitation, Dante raised his hand. A dome of shimmering silver light bloomed into being around Sylvia. The force field buzzed softly, enclosing her within a safe sphere. She gasped and reached toward him through the translucent wall.“You can’t fight them all alone,” she said.“I won’t let them get to you,” Dante replied. His voice was calm, steady, even as his heart pounded like a war drum. “That’s the one thing I won’t let happen.”With a snap of his fingers, a cascade of lightning erupted around his body, arcing and weaving itself into armor. Crackling energy coated his skin and sword, running up hi

Back in the Deadland, Dante had grown closer to the princess. Though nothing sexual had happened between them, the connection was undeniable. Every night, the princess went to sleep holding onto Dante's helm. After staying so long in this place, her beautiful dress was ruined and so filthy that she couldn’t even begin to imagine how bad she must smell.Looking at the princess and how ragged she had become, Dante decided it was time to take drastic measures. He had grown so strong over the past few months, but what was the point of growing stronger if he couldn't leave this place? From their search, he had come to realize that there were only ten calamity monsters, and each one was far stronger than the desert worm. He always tried to avoid fighting them, knowing that engaging one would draw the attention of the others."I refuse to believe there’s no end to this," Dante muttered—and Sylvia woke at that very moment."I have finally found it.""Found what?""The reason I came. And I bel

  • The Preparation

Dante remembered Toma saying they would face endless hordes of monsters, but he never imagined it would be this many. He opened the force-field and stepped inside so Sylvia could help him recharge. He could have waited for his mana to recover naturally, but that would take too long, and Sylvia had more than enough to share."Can you move this force-field?" Sylvia asked."Yes. We have to search this land. There must be a way out," Dante replied as he levitated the force-field. He needed a better view of the terrain."Wow," Sylvia muttered. As far as they could see, there were only monsters."They really are endless," Dante said, then began moving the force-field eastward as fast as he could. After a while, they heard a roar. When they turned, they saw a dragon spewing fire. If not for the force-field, they would have been reduced to ashes."That's a calamity-level monster," Aleric muttered, wondering if this was one of the legendary dragons said to be stronger than demons."This is jus

"Where are we?" Sylvia asked as she opened her eyes and looked around the unfamiliar place. The sky was crimson red, with no moon or sun in sight. There was no way to tell if it was day or night."It looks like a deadland," Dante replied, scanning the horizon. There wasn’t a single trace of green as far as his eyes could see. "We need to get down and find a way back to our group."They stood atop a barren hill. Nothing surrounded them, just lifeless land stretching endlessly in all directions. Dante was certain they wouldn’t find anything here. But before they could descend, a shrieking sound pierced the air. Monsters came rushing from every direction, their numbers endless."Pardon me, Princess," Dante said as he summoned a forcefield to protect her. He stepped forward, alone.Through their conversations, Dante had learned how powerful Sylvia was. In a one-on-one battle, she could overwhelm most opponents with her sheer mana and nature magic. But because she had always been protected
