The training field was empty, save for two figures standing across from each other. The sun was beginning to set, casting long shadows as the air carried a stillness that made the moment feel sacred.

Dante stood calmly, his sword resting at his side, while Instructor Bane observed him with sharp eyes. There were no spectators, Instructor Bane decided a sparring section is enough punishment for Dante. In truth, he just wanted to see how much Dante had grown.

"You’ve grown stronger," Bane remarked, tightening his grip on his sword. "But strength alone is never enough. Show me how much you’ve improved."

Dante nodded, bringing his blade up in a ready stance. The moment Bane moved, he did too. Their swords clashed in a flurry of sparks, each strike precise, each movement deliberate. Bane remained mostly on the defensive, only attacking when Dante left an opening. His movements were calculated, aiming to expose Dante’s weaknesses rather than overwhelm him.

Dante, however, was not the same s

Dante sat in his dimly lit dormitory, calmly sharpening his sword. The rhythmic scraping of the whetstone against the blade was the only sound in the room. He knew they were coming. The way Elijah had been watching him lately made it obvious, and the rumors Finn had shared only confirmed it. He didn't go to bed, he made sure to wait for them and asked Finn to go to sleep. Then, just as expected, he heard the approaching footsteps. Slow, deliberate. There were multiple of them.A heavy knock echoed through the wooden door."Open up, Dante," a voice called. It was Elijah. "We need to have a little chat."Dante smirked, sliding his sword back into its sheath before standing. He took his time reaching the door, savoring the tension. When he finally opened it, Elijah stood at the forefront, flanked by five senior students. Each one bore the confident expression of someone who thought they had already won."I was wondering when you’d show up," Dante said lazily, leaning against the doorfram

The night air was cool as Dante moved through the shadows, avoiding the patrolling academy guards. He had planned this meeting with Raiden in advance, and sneaking out was a minor inconvenience compared to what he stood to gain. He wasn’t wearing his signature Raven mask tonight, but a simple nose mask covered his face, obscuring his identity from any prying eyes.Once he reached the city outskirts, he blended in with the sparse nighttime crowd. The streets were quieter at this hour, making it easier to navigate without drawing attention. Soon, he arrived at his destination—a small but well-kept shop with a modest sign hanging above the entrance: Stormfang Trading Co.Pushing the door open, a familiar scent of polished wood and rare herbs greeted him. Behind the counter, Raiden was busy examining a beast core under a magnifying glass. His keen eyes flickered up the moment Dante stepped inside.“And you are?” Raiden asked, though it was clear he already had an idea.“Raven.” Dante remo

The air trembled as a deep hum resonated through the streets, sending shivers down Dante’s spine. Before he could react, the sky was torn apart by a blinding crimson light, and with a deafening roar, a massive gate burst open. Unlike dungeon gates—fixed structures leading to explorable labyrinths filled with treasure—this was a portal gate, an unstable tear in the void that connected their world to a realm of chaos. While dungeons had a boss and would only close once it was slain, this portal gate had no such requirement; it simply shut after a great number of monsters had been eliminated. It glowed red, signifying a B-rank gate, and unlike dungeons, it wasted no time in unleashing its horrors. With a sickening squelch, grotesque creatures began pouring out. Some gates took hours or even days before releasing monsters, allowing hunters to enter first and clear them. But this one was immediate—an ominous sign. The first wave consisted of hulking, malformed beasts with jagged fangs and

Some streets of the city were still lively, even after the chaos of the gate opening. Lanterns illuminated the walkways, and the distant hum of conversation filled the air. Dante walked at a steady pace, his mind replaying the battle he had witnessed. The power of an S-rank elemental awakener was impressive, but rather than intimidation, he felt something else—anticipation. He knew he would surpass that one day.His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a familiar voice."Dante?"Turning, he saw Aria standing a few steps away, her blue eyes reflecting the city lights. Dressed casually in a light blue tunic and black leggings, she looked different from the composed warrior he had seen in the academy. Tonight, she was just a girl enjoying the city."Aria? What are you doing here?" he asked, genuinely surprised. She smirked. "I could ask you the same thing. But if you must know, I needed a break. The competition is almost here, and I was getting tired of all the training. So, I snuck o

With only a day remaining until the competition, Instructor Bane decided it was time to impart some crucial knowledge about swordsmanship to Dante."There are three known ways to improve as a swordsman," Bane began, his voice steady and firm. "The first is to follow the path of established skills and practice them to perfection. The second is to acquire the knowledge of many sword skills and use that foundation to develop your own. The third is to carve your own path, forging techniques from your heart, influenced by existing skills but uniquely your own."Dante listened intently, absorbing every word."The first method is the most common," Bane continued. "It’s a safe route, one that guarantees results because success has already been proven. The second is far less traveled, as it is difficult and uncertain—you might spend your entire life without ever creating a true skill. But if one succeeds, they might develop a supreme skill or, at the very least, a powerful one."Bane’s express

She remembered watching him secretly during the party."Can you let me go now?" she stuttered, believing her heart would explode if she stayed in this position any longer."I don't know. I actually like the way we are," Dante said as he pulled her closer. Her scent, her skin, her innocence—everything about her drew him in.In truth, this wasn't the first time he had felt the urge to make a woman his. He had felt it with Aria too, but Aria was different. He saw her as a strong, independent woman, someone capable of leading and making her own demands. "You're looking for my great-granddaughter?" Toma asked as he noticed Dante constantly glancing at the door."Great-grand?" Dante was surprised—Lucian had earlier said the young girl was Toma's granddaughter, not great-granddaughter."Yes. You know, she spoke of you when she came back from the Human Tournament. She also said you always had two women with you." Toma chuckled."You're right, Dante is definitely a playboy," Lucian added, and the two old men couldn't help but laugh at the statement."Vida is a friend. I still haven't made my intentions clear with Aria," Dante pouted before gulping down the tea Toma had offered him."But you don't deny that you'd want both ladies for yourself?" Toma asked, wiggling his eyebrows. Dante couldn't help but notice how different Toma was from the dignified elves he'd always heard about."Let me tell you a secret—she's been talking about you non-stop since she returned from the competition." Toma giggled, instantly catching Dante’s interest. He w

  • Toma's Granddaughter.

It had been four months since Dante and Lucian began their journey together. In that time, Dante had grown by leaps and bounds, far surpassing even Lucian’s expectations. Every day seemed to bring new revelations, new powers, and new feats.Dante had unlocked the mastery of lightning, metal, currently he is using earth and air to create a forcefield. Using his newly developed forcefield, he could deflect and block almost anything thrown his way. To Lucian, watching his progress was nothing short of awe-inspiring. He never imagined that Dante would rise so quickly."You're using your forcefield to make yourself untouchable during combat," Lucian said, observing Dante as he swiftly defeated an S-rank monster deep within the dungeon. The monster howled in agony, its massive form crashing to the ground with a loud thud."Yes," Dante replied, his voice calm yet thoughtful. "It’s still a far cry from your gravity ability, but I’m getting there." He wiped the sweat from his brow and examined

  • Solo Leveling

Lucian knew it was dangerous for Dante to face the dungeon alone, so he handed him a talisman that would teleport him outside if his life was in danger.“Just send a bit of mana into the talisman, and you’ll be teleported away,” Lucian explained.“Alright.” Dante accepted the talisman, though he had no intention of using it. He could feel it—he was far stronger than before. This was his chance to push himself harder than ever. He also needed to find a way to balance his sword skills with his elemental abilities.“Just wait for me. I won’t take long,” Dante said with a confident smile as he stepped into the dungeon. The air inside was thick with eerie energy, and the ground trembled with the distant roars of fearsome creatures. Dante took a deep breath, his mind focused entirely on the challenge ahead. With a swift motion, he drew his sword, the blade shimmering with a dark, void-like energy. Since even he has now gained access to other elements, it’s only a matter of time before I do as well.” He could alre

  • Dante's Origin

Mrs. Joan told Lucian everything about Dante's birth and the reason she had been giving him the medicine. She even revealed Mr. Tilo's involvement and how Leon's powers came from the experiment. Lucian was stunned by the revelations, but one question lingered in his mind. If the medicine had been blocking Dante's mana and abilities all this time, then what was the source of his recent power?Even Mrs. Joan had no answer to that."You see, if Dante stops taking the medicine and taps into his true potential, I'm afraid even I would lose my title as humanity’s strongest."Lucian believes that Dante will surpass him. He was already convinced Dante was an S-rank, but just how powerful could he become once his true abilities awakened? "So, it's time to stop the medicine and let the dragon fly.""Yes. But promise me you’ll tell him everything when the time is right. He doesn’t need to avenge his parents. Knowing about them is already enough." Mrs. Joan’s voice trembled as she spoke. Sh

Adam asked."Not really," Dante replied, though he smiled as he thought of Aria."What about Vida? Has anything changed between you two?" Gavin asked."What do you mean by that?" Dante looked confused, not understanding what his friends were implying.Adam and Gavin exchanged glances, feeling pity for Vida. Even now, Dante remained oblivious to her feelings. As their hunt continued, Dante suddenly heard footsteps. His acute hearing as a swordsman allowed him to detect people marching toward the village, even from within the forest."We have to head back," Dante said, and his friends immediately followed him.Though he was confident that Lucian could handle any trouble, th

"Headmaster, what exactly do you want to ask my mother?" It was a question that had been nagging at him for a long time."Nothing that should concern you too much," Lucian replied with a faint smile.Dante's gaze darkened slightly. "I respect you, sir, but believe me when I say I will throw that respect away if you do anything to harm my mother. I know you wouldn't stoop so low, but I feel the need to make it clear."Lucian met Dante’s gaze, and for a few moments, they simply stared at each other.
