The air was thick with the scent of blood and smoke. The town lay in ruins, houses reduced to rubble, and the streets painted with the crimson of the fallen. In the heart of the chaos, a massive, mutated A-rank Ogre stood tall, its grotesque body covered in jagged, bone-like protrusions. Its red eyes gleamed with mindless rage, its breath reeking of decay. Behind the Ogre, huddled in the corner of a crumbling building, a family of four clung to each other. Seeing Dante gave them a sliver of hope, despite knowing he is just a student of an Academy. They also heard the announcement telling the students to retreat because stronger monsters were coming out.

Dante exhaled, gripping his sword tighter. His stance was firm, but his instincts screamed at him—this was no ordinary monster. The Ogre let out a guttural roar and charged, each step shaking the earth beneath them. Dante barely had time to react as a massive fist came hurtling toward him. He twisted his body, dodging just in time, but

The monster outbreak had turned the once-thriving village into a graveyard, littered with broken walls and shattered hopes. But Dante wasn’t here to mourn—he was here to grow stronger and save whoever was left alive. Ahead of him, a group of A-rank monsters prowled the ruined streets. Their eyes gleamed with hunger, their claws dripping with the remnants of their last victims. Among them were a Razorfang Basilisk, a Thunderclaw Behemoth, and a Shadowfang Direwolf. They were larger, and more vicious than anything Dante had faced before. He had battled A-rank creatures before, but never a horde of them at once.A sane man would retreat, wait for the hunters to arrive, and clean up the mess. But Dante saw an opportunity."If I wait, I lose my chance. If I fight, I might die. But if I survive—I get stronger." Dante couldn't believe that a few months ago, he w

Aria was worried, and if not for the hunters’ arrival, she would have headed off to look for Dante. She couldn't believe she had allowed him to face danger alone. Marcus tried to assure her that everything would be alright, but the beautiful girl remained anxious."How could he be so stupid to go back there?" Elijah muttered, his anger toward Dante growing."Why are you all just standing here?" Miss Sapphire had just arrived. She was supposed to escort the students but had been called away for an emergency, so another teacher had taken her place."Dante still hasn't returned," the teacher who had escorted the students answered.Miss Sapphire scanned the area, and sure enough, the handsome boy was nowhere to be found. "I thought there was an announcement instructing all students to retreat.""Yes, but clearly, one of your students thinks he's a hero," a teacher from Golden Lion Academy stepped forward, his students standing behind him.Howard wore a smug expression, knowing that their

The scent of medicinal herbs filled his nostrils, and the soft glow of magical orbs illuminated the ceiling above him. He recognized the infirmary immediately. The muffled sound of voices reached his ears, but his mind was still clouded, replaying the battle in fragmented memories.“Dante!” A voice called his name, and before he could react, a pair of warm hands gripped his own. His eyes focused, and he saw Aria leaning over him, her usually composed face filled with concern.“You’re awake,” she sighed in relief, her grip tightening before she quickly let go, as if realizing she had acted out of character.Miss Sapphire stepped forward, arms crossed, her sharp eyes scanning him. “You’re reckless,” she stated, though there was no true anger in her voice—just something close to admiration hidden beneath her usual sternness. “You ignored orders, risked your life, and somehow man

  • The Demon Lord Wanted An Ordinary Life    Returning To The Academy

The journey back to Mighty One Academy was filled with murmurs and speculation. News of Dante’s battle had spread like wildfire, but while many students admired his feat, others were quick to dismiss it. Leading that group was none other than Elijah, who made it his mission to discredit Dante’s achievements.“I’m telling you, it was just swordsman adrenaline,” Elijah declared as he stood in the academy courtyard, surrounded by a group of students. “In moments of extreme danger, even the weakest fighter can tap into an unnatural burst of strength. It’s not skill—it’s desperation.”Some students nodded, eager to believe his words. The idea that Dante, a mere swordsman, could defeat hordes of A-rank monsters was difficult to accept, especially for those with elemental abilities.“He got lucky,” a student scoffed. “No way he could pull that off again.”Elijah smirked, pleased that his words were taking root. “Exactly. If he faced another horde now, without that sudden burst of fear-driven

Dante moved just as he had when fighting against the hordes. It was as if he had been doing it all his life—the movement flowed effortlessly. Instructor Bane couldn’t believe his eyes as he watched the teenager move with the fluidity of a seasoned veteran.“Void Crescent!” Dante finally shouted as a wave of mana surged from his sword and crashed into the wall. It left a dent—an impressive feat considering the training room was built with a special material that made it nearly indestructible. Most students wouldn’t even leave a scratch.“Have you studied footwork before?” Instructor Bane asked. He knew Dante was only a first-year student, and their curriculum had not yet introduced footwork or advanced sword techniques. But he had to ask.“No, sir.”“Then how is this possible?”“What’s possible?”“Everything. Your sword skills, your footwork—none of it should be possible. And yet, I can see there’s still plenty of room for improvement.” Instructor Bane was in shock. He had always suspe

They looked experienced, their armor and weapons well-maintained, their demeanor confident. More importantly, their conversation hinted that they were one member short. He approached.A tall man with short, crimson hair and piercing green eyes noticed him first. He exuded authority, his A-rank aura undeniable. “You looking for a team, or just standing there to waste my time?” he asked, arms crossed.“I heard you need a seventh,” Dante replied coolly, his voice even through his mask. “I’m interested.”The leader studied him, then glanced at the others. “What’s your rank?”“A-rank,” Dante lied smoothly.“Another A-rank? Along with Adam and Gavin, he ventured into the forest to hunt for an animal they could use for the party. He could have done it in an instant, but he didn’t want to take the fun away from his friends, so they did it the old-fashioned way."So, have you gotten a girlfriend?" Adam asked."Not really," Dante replied, though he smiled as he thought of Aria."What about Vida? Has anything changed between you two?" Gavin asked."What do you mean by that?" Dante looked confused, not understanding what his friends were implying.Adam and Gavin exchanged glances, feeling pity for Vida. Even now, Dante remained oblivious to her feelings. As their hunt continued, Dante suddenly heard footsteps. • Going Back Home

Just as Lucian had said, Dante found himself escorting the headmaster back to his small village.Vida and Aria had returned to Aqua Veil Academy with Seraphina, though not before happily exchanging contact information with Dante."It's hard to believe that such a small village has produced such prodigies," Lucian mused, referring to both Dante and Vida.Dante, however, had something else on his mind. "Headmaster, what exactly do you want to ask my mother?" It was a question that had been nagging at him for a long time."Nothing that should concern you too much," Lucian replied with a faint smile.Dante's gaze darkened slightly. "I respect you, sir, but believe me when I say I will throw that respect away if you do anything to harm my mother. I know you wouldn't stoop so low, but I feel the need to make it clear."Lucian met Dante’s gaze, and for a few moments, they simply stared at each other. As the headmaster held Dante’s eyes, he felt something ancient stir within the boy—a presenc

  • Dante's Goal

When Dante woke up, he saw a man sitting beside him. He had never seen the man before, but he could sense an incredible power emanating from him. Never had he felt so much power concentrated in a single individual, and the fact that the man could suppress such tremendous mana was remarkable."You're awake," the man said."Yes. Sorry, but who are you?" Dante asked."I am Lucian, your headmaster," the man introduced himself.Dante widened his eyes. Of course, he had heard about their headmaster—Lucian the Untouchable, the man considered humanity’s strongest."Forgive my ignorance.""You don't need to apologize," Lucian chuckled. "I won’t take much of your time. I just have a question about the medication you’ve been taking."While Dante was unconscious, Lucian had a doctor examine him and discovered that Dante had been using some kind of suppressant."I was very weak as a child, so my mother, a B-rank healer, developed a drug to help me recover. • Leon's Determination

Lucian instantly left his seat and appeared in front of Leon, intercepting Dante’s attack with effortless precision. With nothing more than a raised finger, he halted the strike, shattering Dante’s sword upon impact. The sheer force of the clash sent a shockwave rippling through the arena, obliterating the forcefield that had contained the battle.Leon’s legs buckled, and he collapsed onto the ground, landing on his backside. His breath came in short gasps, his body trembling as realization sank in. He had been mere moments from death. If Lucian hadn’t stepped in, his fate would have been sealed.Lucian turned to him, his golden eyes impassive. “Are you clear on who the winner is?”Leon swallowed hard and nodded. He didn’t need a soothsayer to confirm what was painfully obvious—Dante had utterly defeated him.The crowd erupted in a mix of gasps and excited murmurs.“Can you believe that? Such a powerful attack was stopped by a single finger!” Zane, one of the commentators, exclaimed i

  • To Sever A Destiny

Dante already knew something was wrong and that he was at a disadvantage, but he had managed to calm his nerves. He had realized that the more disadvantaged he was, the more he could tap into his true potential. Right now, he didn’t have the energy to deliver Void Star; even Void Rend and Void Crescent would be difficult to execute. His bones were broken, and his body was filled with injuries, but his mind had never been clearer.“You don’t seem worried?” Celeste asked Aria.Since everyone was watching, Vida and Aria didn’t sit in the VIP section with the headmasters; instead, they sat among the other students.“Not at all.” Even with Dante’s defeat seemingly inevitable, Aria and Vida didn’t appear concerned.“Are you that confident in him?” William Archibald asked. He still didn’t like Dante, but he was now aware that he wouldn’t last against him in battle.“You don’t know Dante,” Vida stated, drawing everyone’s attention. She was so beautiful and graceful that her presence demanded

  • A Master Of One

Just before the competition started, Mr. Tilo met with the officials and struck a deal. He handed them a special device identical to the ones the students had been using to ensure their safety in the competition. However, unlike the normal safety devices, this one was specially designed to drain Dante’s mana and weaken him.Never one to take chances, Mr. Tilo had ordered his scientists to create this device specifically for Dante. Since it was indistinguishable from the regular ones and designed to deplete mana so subtly that even the user wouldn’t notice, it was impossible for Dante to realize what was happening.“Something is amiss,” Seraphina muttered, her sharp gaze locked on Dante as she noticed him growing weaker.“His mana seems to be depleting faster than normal,” Lucian observed with a frown.“It must be Mr. Tilo’s doing,” Seraphina growled, her eyes narrowing into a deadly glare directed at the oblivious man. Mr. Tilo, unaware of the murderous looks being sent his way, simpl

  • The Power Granted By The Four Element

The crowd erupted with excitement as the final round of the competition commenced. Only three contestants remained—Dante, Leon, and Celeste. The entire arena buzzed with anticipation, eager to witness who would emerge as the ultimate champion.“I know you all are as excited as I am!” Zane’s voice boomed across the arena. “Never before have we had such a final, and I doubt we’ll ever see another like it!”The audience roared in agreement.“Have you placed your bets?”“Yes! I bet on Leon!”“Me too.”The spectators spoke favorably about Leon, and it was expected. He had slain an S-rank monster alone—an almost impossible feat for a teenager, even if the creature had been weakened. So despite how unbelievable Dante’s victories had been, Leon’s accomplishment was considered even more impressive.Zane’s voice cut through the chatter. “The matchups have been decided. The first duel will be between Dante and Celeste. Whoever wins will face Leon!”Just as the anticipation reached its peak, Cele

  • Something Primal

Dante was about to collapse when Aria arrived and caught him just in time, steadying his weakened body against hers.“Good thing no one else is here to see the mighty Dante fall,” Aria joked, her voice light, though her eyes held a trace of concern.“Good, right?” Dante chuckled weakly as she helped him onto the bed. His limbs felt like lead, his muscles burning from the relentless battles he had endured. Still, he maintained his composure, even as he reached into his pocket, pulled out a small vial, and downed his medication in one swift gulp.Aria watched him closely. “You didn’t take it earlier, did you?”“Of course not,” he admitted. “I wasn’t about to show any sign of weakness in front of the audience or my enemies.”Aria sighed but let it slide. She knew Dante well enough to understand his pride.“Sorry I couldn’t end the competition like you wanted,” he added after a moment.“Like I wanted?” Aria’s eyes snapped open in surprise. “What I wanted was for you to win, not to end thin
