Kate glanced at herself in the mirror at her dispassionate look. "You are beautiful." Nicholas did the compliments hugging her very tightly. "If you have any doubts, we can call it off. Max will understand."

Kate lowered her head. "I couldn't let Michella down. She would pout and that wouldn't be a pretty gift for her birthday."

"Is he scarier than you when he's sad?"

"More than anything." Kate nodded her head.

"Let's go! Before he gets disappointed in you."

She smiled. "Oh, Nick, I always feel touched whenever you try to reconcile with me. You don't protest much at my request. You can blend in with the environment."
