"Damn it, Dylan!" snapped a man, handsome in the fancy black suit he wore.
His anger was no longer under control when Dylan spilled coffee on the man's table. The man had previously tasked Dylan with making coffee for him, but Dylan's carelessness had made a mess of the files he was working on.
"This file is worth more than you're, damn it!" he raged.
Robert Watson, CEO of Monarch Company and Dylan's brother-in-law. The man had complete power in the company; he could sack or hire anyone easily.
"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Watson," Dylan said.
He picked up the towel around his neck, cleaning up the spilled coffee on Robert's desk.
The sight of Dylan making a mess of his desk made Robert even angrier. He roughly pushed the office boy's body until he fell to the floor.
Robert walked away from his desk, his right hand holding a glass cup containing the remaining coffee that hadn't spilled.
He poured the entire coffee over Dylan's head and body, a smirk on his face, feeling satisfied that he had humiliated him that morning.
"I don't know why, but it feels good to do this!" said Robert, laughing loudly at his brother-in-law's helpless response.
The spilled coffee had accidentally stained the black shoes Robert was wearing. The man was reluctant to have the stain cleaned by him but by Dylan.
He raised his foot, pointing his wet black shoe at Dylan. Dylan, whose head and clothes were wet and dirty with coffee stains, looked at Robert with a pitiful face.
"Clean it up!" Robert snapped.
"A-All right," Dylan said, taking the towel he had used to wipe Robert's desk to wipe his brother-in-law's black shoes.
Robert slapped Dylan's hand away, sending the towel falling to the floor. Dylan was even more confused, considering that the towel was already dirty, and there was no way he could use it to clean the CEO's shoes before him.
"Clean it!" Robert insisted.
"But with what, Mr. Watson?" asked Dylan.
"Do I have to tell you? You're an office boy. You know more about cleaning than I do," Robert said.
All his clothes had been soiled; there was nothing to wipe Robert's black shoes with. He was still smirking, waiting for Dylan to do something that would humiliate him.
Dylan gulped his saliva deeply. If there was no cloth he could use, he would have to clean it by licking the stain.
Dylan's head moved closer to Robert's shoe. Just as Dylan's tongue stuck out, Robert laughed loudly, the kind of laughter that mocked his brother-in-law.
"Disgusting scum! I don't want your filthy body touching me!" Robert snapped.
He kicked Dylan hard in the head, sending the man flying away, causing the corner of his lip to cut and bleed.
Robert walked back to his desk, cleaning up his files that had gotten wet due to Dylan's carelessness.
The torture and humiliation was over. Wiping the blood from the corner of his lips, Dylan stood up slowly.
"Get the fuck off. I don't want to see your damn face!" Robert snapped.
Dylan nodded without arguing, or even making a sound. He turned around, walking out through Robert's office door until he reached the office area with many staff working on computers.
"Look, it's pathetic to be him," one of the staff replied, whispering something to his coworker.
"If I was him, I'd have resigned a long time ago," said the coworker.
Dylan's presence was always the subject of gossip among the company's employees. Many of them didn't want to see Dylan in the room.
Dylan walked away quickly, back to the first floor where he and the other office boys always gathered.
The unpleasant smell of the mixture of coffee stains and his body odor made people who were in the same elevator have to avoid him. They kept away from Dylan, reluctant to get close, let alone talk to him.
The elevator doors opened just as they reached the first floor. Dylan walked out to arrive at the office boy's changing room. However, his steps were halted when he saw a woman dressed in a blouse, cardigan, and a short knee-length skirt walking gracefully, accompanied by five assistants.
Melissa Watson, CEO of Watson Enterprise, and his wife. Their marriage was an accident. Dylan and Melissa were drunk then and had sex that night under the effects of alcohol.
Melissa became pregnant with Dylan's child, and to keep the information from spreading to the media, she married someone who worked far out of town, even though Melissa only married Dylan with only the Watson family knowing.
"Hello, dear!" greeted Dylan.
The woman squinted, staring hatefully at Dylan. One of Melissa's assistants punched Dylan hard in the belly, sending the office boy stumbling on the lobby floor.
"How dare you call the CEO of Watson Enterprise that?!" snapped the man in the black suit and stocky build.
"Leave him alone. I'll talk to my brother about his manners!" snapped Melissa.
The woman walked away from Dylan as if he wasn't there. Another office boy walked over to Dylan, helping the beaten man to the locker room.
"You're so reckless to call him that," Dylan's colleague said.
"I slipped up. I thought she was my wife," Dylan said, still groaning in pain.
"HAHA! It is impossible for men like us to have a beautiful wife like her. Understand your position here, Dylan," Dylan's companion joked, trying to give the man some warm water.
"You're right."
Although Dylan was actually Melissa's husband, no one believed it. Melissa's demeanor was different from a typical married couple, given that the two were married by accident.
On the other hand, Dylan had to continue working with the Watson family, being an office boy in their company and home. Dylan has to do this to return the orphanage that Watson bought.
The man had indeed grown up in the orphanage, being left behind when he was a year old. None of the orphanage sisters knew Dylan's real parents, so until he grew up, Dylan lived without the love of both parents.
In the end, Dylan had to continue working with them for years. They didn't pay Dylan but would redirect his salary to the cost of buying the orphanage.
From another direction, a woman in a black suit and glasses was sitting on a sofa in the waiting room. She came with two men in suits just like her, carrying three black suitcases with a specific purpose.
Their appearance was mysterious, but not to the other employees, as they appeared to be wearing the same suits. However, no one knew who they were and what they were doing in the office.
"Is he the man we're looking for?" asked one of the men, the woman's partner.
"From what we just heard, his name is Dylan. His name and occupation fit our search so far," said the woman.
"Then when will we arrest him?" the man asked again.
"His shift ends in thirty minutes. We'll move in after that."
Thirty minutes passed. Dylan had already changed his clothes from his office boy uniform to a casual suit of a simple T-shirt and trousers. "I'm leaving now," Dylan said, saying goodbye. His colleagues nodded, allowing Dylan to leave for home. Finding Dylan already out of the Monarch's office made the three mysterious people begin to move. They walked while carrying a black suitcase. The glasses woman with the long black hair was trying to get to Dylan before he got on the city bus. "Hey, you!" the woman shouted. Because Dylan was the only one on the way out of the office, the man immediately stopped walking. He turned his body around, looking behind him where a woman and two men dressed in black suits were walking towar
It took some time for Dylan to understand everything. He had just been informed that he was the next heir to the Sullivan family, which gave him access to all parts of the house, including the Sullivan fortune and his position in the company. A wide smile spread across the man's face. His head kept spinning, still in disbelief that he could suddenly become rich like this, something that could only exist in fictional stories. "You'll be living in this house with all the amenities," Richard explained. "You no longer need to live with the Watsons, whether you owe them a favor or not," Louis said. "The Watson family shouldn't be picking on you like that. You are a respected person. If they insult you, then they are indirectly insulting us," Richard said. <
"You'd better give me the land deed to the orphanage right away. I'll move them all in immediately," Dylan insisted."No! This is not possible. You check again. Is it really from Sully?" Robert asked. The man again pointed to his female employee, asking her to double-check the remittance account. However, as many times as Robert asked to check, the account was originally owned by Sully Corp."There's no way a man like him is Richard's son! His looks and demeanour are not at all suitable to be an heir of a family like the Sullivans!" Robert snapped, pointing at Dylan.Dylan himself was still speechless as he realized Robert was still reluctant to admit the truth. The man walked closer to Robert, right in front of his brother-in-law.The Sullivan heir occasionally looked back. The employees had left their workplaces and seemed curious about the commotion in the CEO's office. Robert realized what was happening. He looked back and found his employees running to hide from Robert's tantrum.
They talked about many things right at the moment of their meeting. Rose invited Dylan to talk inside while Beatrice and the other sisters prepared to return the house to the orphanage. They had a lot to talk about, especially since they hadn't seen each other since Dylan left the orphanage to work. They proceeded to the residence's second floor, where Rose's study was located."The number of children here is increasing. We have three new children in our care this year alone," Rose said."What's their condition?" asked Dylan."Two are orphans, brothers and sisters. The other one was taken in after childbirth," Rose replied."Like what happened to me, huh?" asked Dylan. The expression on his face turned sad at this as if his m
Rose's phone rang, displaying the notification that appeared on her phone screen. She clearly saw that a sum of money had been sent to her account, the one used for the orphanage's needs."The money is in," Rose said, gasping at the sight of $100,000 clearly displayed on her phone screen."Alright. Maybe you guys need some time to prepare for the move. I have to go back home. I have something to do," Dylan excused himself. The man was already standing at the door of the two-story house, the temporary home of the orphanage. He stood next to Maya, with five male bodyguards behind him."Are you coming back again?" asked Beatrice, curious.Although she was a year older than Dylan, but between the two of them, Dylan was the one wh
Dylan arrived in a room that seemed so spacious, deliberately prepared by Richard and Louis because they thought Dylan would need it. The man arrived in awe; there were many luxurious items he had never seen. Maya arrived with a maid. The maid arrived with both hands, holding a metal tray filled with snacks and cold drinks for Dylan to enjoy. Maya could see Dylan's innocent expression when he first saw his office. "Working as a servant in the Watson family won't get you all this, will it?" asked Maya, smiling broadly as she walked in, approaching Dylan, who was still frozen in place standing by a wooden workbench. "Of course. This office room is usually reserved for important people, like CEOs," Dylan replied. "You'll take that position. Mr. Richard and Mrs. Louis are old enough to manage everything," Maya replied. "You know, they need their retirement time to enjoy all the achievements they've made," Maya said. Dylan sighed. He was beginning to realize that they planned to let
***The next day.Maya walked into the Sullivan house and went to Dylan's room. Richard would not be attending the shareholder meeting at the Monarch Office, so he ordered Dylan to go.Richard believed that Dylan could bring something new to either Monarch or Sullivan or Sully Corp. Each shareholder was invited to bring one person, an assistant who would take notes of the meeting.Dylan appointed Maya as his assistant to accompany him through the meeting, Maya showed no objection at all. She was happy because Dylan had indirectly started to trust her. That was why Maya could not let Dylan down. She continued to stride quickly towards the elevator of the house, passing by several servants who seemed to be busy cleaning every corner of the house until the woman was fully inside the elevator. The pulley began to turn, pulling on the strong rope that was able to pull the elevator all the way up. Maya was alone in the elevator, neatly dressed as if she was ready to attend a meeting as imp
"I've gathered you all because I have something to discuss, it has to do with Monarch's sales," Robert said.He started showing the presentation screen with the conclusion that sales for this month and the previous few months were down. They tried to market their services through the media, but the reach was not as wide as they thought."The interest level of our customers is split into two sides, between those who prefer Monarch or Sully," Robert explained, beginning to direct the focus of his conversation to Dylan, who was now sitting next to Maya."Monarch has been trying to work with Sully, obviously to get a wider market reach. But as of now, we haven't gotten any confirmation from Sully," Robert explained."We need to put that aside, I've come up with some ways to deal with this, in case Sully rejects Monarch's proposal," Robert said.He began to explain the ways he meant through a presentation that appeared on a white screen, there were several ways and all of them almost invol
