Chp. 2. Life As A Sullivan

Thirty minutes passed. Dylan had already changed his clothes from his office boy uniform to a casual suit of a simple T-shirt and trousers.

"I'm leaving now," Dylan said, saying goodbye.

His colleagues nodded, allowing Dylan to leave for home. Finding Dylan already out of the Monarch's office made the three mysterious people begin to move.

They walked while carrying a black suitcase. The glasses woman with the long black hair was trying to get to Dylan before he got on the city bus.

"Hey, you!" the woman shouted.

Because Dylan was the only one on the way out of the office, the man immediately stopped walking. He turned his body around, looking behind him where a woman and two men dressed in black suits were walking towards him.

"Who are you?" asked Dylan, looking frightened.

"Are you Dylan Perry?" asked the woman, standing directly before Dylan.

"Yes. How do you know my name?" asked Dylan.

The woman sighed softly. She turned her head to the right and left, looking at her two partners as she nodded. The two men started walking towards Dylan, beating the man so hard that he fell unconscious.

The incident caught the attention of many people, including Melissa and Robert, who happened to be keeping an eye below.

"Pathetic man. How could he sleep with you at that time!" Robert complained, upset that he had fucked and even impregnated his elder sister.

"I told you it was alcohol. Because of that incident, I won't visit any bars in the entire world," Melissa said, crossing her arms.

"He'll never know that your son was given to the orphanage where he grew up,' Robert said.

"Mom told me to do it, and I don't mind it," Melissa replied coldly.

"I wonder how that child will turn out in the future?" Robert replied.

"Most likely the same as his father, a disgusting jerk!" snapped Melissa.

The woman walked away from the glass window of Robert's office, disgusted by the sight of Dylan's face. However, unlike Robert, who was still satisfied to see Dylan being tortured again by a stranger.

The two men put Dylan into a car; it looked like a kidnapping, but no one cared. The two cars drove away from Monarch's office.

Robert turned around, walking over to the long sofa where Melissa was enjoying the luxurious wine provided by Robert. Melissa arrived to conduct an inspection, but she had already assigned her assistant to do that.

"After you bought the place, where do they live now?" Melissa asked.

"The orphans and sisters there? I heard they live in an old house owned by the orphanage owner; it's small and can no longer accommodate many children," Robert replied.

"Why do you ask that?" asked Robert.

Melissa shook her head, just out of curiosity about the condition of her son, whom she had deliberately left in her care since his birth.

"How is your relationship with Sean?" asked Robert.

Sean was the man Melissa loved; the two dated after the birth of her child with Dylan. Dylan knew Melissa was dating Sean, and he had even found some contraceptives lying around in Melissa's room while cleaning.

Even so, Dylan couldn't do much. Despite his status there as a lowly servant, none of the Watson family members thought Dylan was part of their family.

"Fine. Sean's been talking about marriage; maybe I'll marry him," Melissa said, smiling broadly.

"Marry, huh? No one knows who your husband is anyway. Let's have a secret wedding, then go public with your relationship with Sean," Robert said.

"That way, Dylan can never complain about it," Robert continued.

"I've already planned that."

The two continued to have a lively conversation about many things. They were reluctant to talk about Dylan, who they thought was someone to eliminate.

Elsewhere, Dylan was still unconscious. He was on his back in the back seat, in the same car as the woman. The two cars were about to take Dylan to the home of the Sullivans, the most powerful family in the country.

Their arrival was based on one reason: the orders from the head of the Sullivan Family, Richard Sullivan. He wanted the three to pick up Dylan and bring him to the house under the condition that Dylan had to look miserable.

He didn't want anyone to know Dylan's true identity, an heir to the Sullivan Family. Richard himself would explain everything to Dylan.

The two cars finally arrived at the gates of Sullivan's house. The house was much larger than Watson's, with Sullivan's wealth from the oil and mining business.

The black sedan convoy stopped outside the marble mansion, which was five stories high, with hundreds of people living inside.

Maya, the woman who led the operation to arrest Dylan, told her two men to bring Dylan inside.

The two men obeyed what Maya said. They carried Dylan's body, which felt light, into Sullivan's marble mansion.

The door opened, revealing a large area filled with luxurious furniture, and it looked so clean. There were 100 maids in the place, not to mention the employees who worked outside the mansion.

Hearing the door open brought a middle-aged woman out of her room. She was the wife of Richard Sullivan and Dylan's mother.

"Is that him?" asked Louis.

"It is, Mrs. Sullivan. He's Dylan Perry," Maya said.

"Put him on the sofa," Louis ordered.

Maya nodded. The two men spontaneously placed Dylan's helpless body on the long sofa. The man was still unconscious because the impact of the blow given by Maya's men was too much for someone like Dylan to take.

Not long after, Louis and Richard walked down the stairs from the second floor. They were glad to see their son's face again, even though they had not watched him for a while.

After about ten minutes of unconsciousness, Dylan's eyes opened slowly. When he was about to get up, his stomach hurt so much that the man had to pull off his T-shirt, revealing a blue bruise on the skin of his stomach.

"What the—"

Dylan gasped at the sight of two mysterious people sitting nearby. The man was stunned to stand up quickly, trying to get away from the two people.

"You finally wake up, Dylan," Louis said, smiling broadly.

"Where-"

"How did you know my name?" asked Dylan, confused.

Dylan looked to the side and saw Maya sitting on the single-seat sofa with the two men who had hit him standing behind her. The woman with long black hair and glasses nodded with a sweet smile.

"I apologize for my men's rude behavior. They were just too excited," Maya said.

"Excited for what? Who the hell are you? What do you want from me?" moaned Dylan.

"Easy, Dylan,' said Richard.

"We brought you here because we decided to make you the Sullivan heir," said Louis.

"Sullivan? My last name is Perry," Dylan said.

Louis and Richard smiled. He was indeed their son, as the name was exactly what they both desired. They were reluctant to give the name Sullivan so that strangers wouldn't take advantage of Dylan.

"I gave you that name. I'm sorry for abandoning you in that orphanage," Louis replied, trying to hold Dylan's hand.

The frightened Dylan chose to dodge, slightly moving away from Louis and Richard. Maya, who had no familial bond, felt it was her duty to explain all this to Dylan.

"You are Dylan Sullivan. The first child of Richard and Louis Sullivan. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan are planning to give their inheritance to you since you are their only son," Maya said.

"No way. I grew up in an orphanage. I have no parents!" snapped Dylan.

"Are you still wearing the necklace?" asked Louis, his eyes glazed over.

"How do you know about-"

Dylan's eyes widened as he realized Louis was wearing his couple necklace. Since childhood, Dylan had worn that necklace. According to the orphanage sister's explanation, they asked Dylan to continue wearing it, no matter what.

Dylan showed her the necklace, which, when put together, formed a dove. Dylan let go of the necklace, and so did Louis. The two tried to put the pair of necklaces together until they did.

"It's impossible! You're my mother?" said Dylan, unable to hide his surprise and happiness.

Louis nodded as he tightly grasped the back of Dylan's hand, "I'm your mother."

"He's your father. We want you to inherit the Sullivan Family," Louis said, showing Richard's face to Dylan.

"I'm a Sullivan?" asked Dylan.

"You are fully eligible for the assets of this place, the millions of dollars in the bank, and full control of the company," Richard said.

"You don't have to suffer anymore, Dylan."
