Chp. 4. Bring Memories

"You'd better give me the land deed to the orphanage right away. I'll move them all in immediately," Dylan insisted.

"No! This is not possible. You check again. Is it really from Sully?" Robert asked.

The man again pointed to his female employee, asking her to double-check the remittance account. However, as many times as Robert asked to check, the account was originally owned by Sully Corp.

"There's no way a man like him is Richard's son! His looks and demeanour are not at all suitable to be an heir of a family like the Sullivans!" Robert snapped, pointing at Dylan.

Dylan himself was still speechless as he realized Robert was still reluctant to admit the truth. The man walked closer to Robert, right in front of his brother-in-law.

The Sullivan heir occasionally looked back. The employees had left their workplaces and seemed curious about the commotion in the CEO's office. Robert realized what was happening. He looked back and found his employees running to hide from Robert's tantrum.

"Admit it, Robert. You can't deny it," Dylan said.

"I won't admit it, no matter how hard you try!" Robert snapped.

Dylan sighed softly, his arms crossed in front of his chest in irritation. The man glanced to the side, looking clearly at Maya, who stood beside him.

"Call the cops over here," Dylan pleaded.

"Alright," Maya said, opening her cell phone and starting to dial the police emergency number.

"The cops? What do you mean?" asked Robert.

"Let's call it fraud. I gave you the money you asked for to buy the place, but you still haven't handed over the title deed to me," Dylan replied.

Dylan walked over to the black cushioned chair that Robert always used for work. Without hesitation, the man sat on the chair and raised his legs, resting on Robert's desk.

Robert and Melissa could only be stunned, as well as the other employees who were still peeking. They widened their eyes with gaping mouths, never expecting that Dylan could be that brave.

"So, how was it? It's much more crowded if the press comes," Dylan explained.

"I know some journalists at some media companies. I'll-"

"Alright. No police, no press. I'll give you the deed, and you get out of here!" said Robert, interrupting Maya's speech with the intention of not having many people come.

The police would be very inconvenient for him, not to mention the press, who were very happy if they got a news story, especially when it came to the Sullivan Family, who were known to be rich all over the country.

Robert, with an annoyed look on his face, walked over to a wooden cabinet that he used to store his valuables. Pulling out a folder containing the deed to the orphanage, he handed it to Dylan by slamming it on the table.

"You got what you wanted. Now go!" snapped Robert, pointing towards the exit.

Dylan took the folder, opened it and looked inside. It was indeed a file of land deeds belonging to the orphanage where Dylan had grown up. Now, the orphanage was completely in Dylan's hands; no one could take it away.

"Alright. Thank you for cooperating with me," Dylan said, extending his right hand forward and asking Robert to shake hands.

But Robert's only response was silence, turning his face away from Dylan's eyes. Dylan realized the annoyance Robert was feeling, and he began to walk away from the place towards the exit of the CEO room.

"Dear?" called Melissa. The widening of Dylan's eyes brought him to a halt.

"This is the first time you've called me that after all the times you've insulted me. Do you have such low self-esteem, Melissa Watson?" asked Dylan, sneering at her with a sharp look.

"You can't avoid me. I am your wife. You should provide for me," Melissa replied.

"But there's no rule on how much I have to provide for you, is it? I will send you money, the same amount as one month of my salary working as a servant in the Watson family," Dylan said.

Dylan moved his head forward, approaching Melissa, who was currently beside him. He whispered something to Melissa in such a low voice, but it was enough to startle her.

"Better get ready and keep your money saved. My revenge has just begun," said Dylan, smiling with a grin.

"What?" asked Melissa, surprised.

Dylan blinked one eye, walking away after opening the door to Robert's study. He, along with Maya and his five bodyguards, began to leave Monarch, leaving Robert and Melissa unsettled as to what would happen next.

"Where are we going?" asked Maya just as they got into the car.

"Take me to this address. They're all there," Dylan pleaded, handing Maya a note containing the address of the head of the orphanage.

Maya took the note and understood what Dylan wanted. The black sedan sped away from the Monarch office towards the address Dylan wanted to go to.

The motorcade stopped at an old two-story house, with the orphanage children playing around the clothesline. The middle-aged sisters were also busy drying the clothes they had washed, seemingly not having washed them very well.

Dylan came out of the car alone, with his left hand clutching the orphanage's land deed file. Dylan's presence attracted the attention of many people, especially the sisters who used to take care of him, as well as his friends who used to play with him, one of whom was Beatrice.

"Dylan?" greeted Beatrice, looking incredulous to see her childhood friend again.

Dylan smiled as he spread his arms wide, inviting her to hug him, to let him go. The sisters began to arrive, grateful to see Dylan back in good condition.

"What brings you here?" asked Beatrice.

"I needed to see Mother Rose. Is she here?" asked Dylan.

"I'm here," said an older woman, dressed in the typical nun's outfit with wrinkles on her face, a sign of her long service at the home.

"I heard that you're living happily with a famous family, is that true?" asked Rose.

"Now, I live happily with them. I'd like to give you the same pleasure," replied Dylan, holding out a folder of land deeds to Rose.

"What's this?" asked Rose, opening it to her surprise, "This is... The deed to the orphanage."

"Now you and everyone else here can go back to the orphanage, clean the place up and keep the document safe. Never sell it," Dylan said.

"Thank you so much, Dylan. I don't know how I can repay your kindness," Rose said, her eyes glazed over with tears coming out of her eyes as she was happy. Not just her but everyone else in the place was just as happy.

"It's enough to make the lives of the children in the orphanage happy. I'll be your main fundraiser," Dylan replied.

"You're very generous, My Perry," Beatrice replied. Dylan laughed at that; Beatrice was one year older than Dylan.

"Now, my name is Dylan Sullivan, no longer Perry."
