Rose's phone rang, displaying the notification that appeared on her phone screen. She clearly saw that a sum of money had been sent to her account, the one used for the orphanage's needs.
"The money is in," Rose said, gasping at the sight of $100,000 clearly displayed on her phone screen.
"Alright. Maybe you guys need some time to prepare for the move. I have to go back home. I have something to do," Dylan excused himself.
The man was already standing at the door of the two-story house, the temporary home of the orphanage. He stood next to Maya, with five male bodyguards behind him.
"Are you coming back again?" asked Beatrice, curious.
Although she was a year older than Dylan, but between the two of them, Dylan was the one who was the most mature about things. Dylan's right hand reached forward, rubbing Beatrice's cheek, which felt soft and supple.
"I'll be back. I'm your regular fundraiser, after all," Dylan replied.
The man stepped towards his car, got in along with Maya, and drove away. Beatrice, the sisters, and the children of the orphanage were all happy to see Dylan go, the person who had now changed their lives completely.
Dylan smiled right after leaving the place. Maya, sitting in the passenger seat near the driver, then asked about Dylan's current destination.
"We're going home to the Sullivan residence," said Dylan.
"Alright," Maya replied, nodding obediently at Dylan's command.
Dylan's attitude was completely in line with what Richard and Louis had said. They explained that Dylan would grow up to be someone wise with the Sullivan fortune; he would help many people.
Maya initially thought that Dylan would be cruel, arrogant, and extravagant for the sudden wealth given to him. However, all those perceptions disappeared after he helped the orphanage a lot.
The car carrying Dylan finally arrived at the complex area of the Sullivan residence. The area looked so spacious, with a green garden adorning the front yard, creating an irresistibly beautiful atmosphere.
The cars stopped right in front of Sullivan's palatial residence, which was far more luxurious and large than Watson's. However, Dylan's attention was distracted when he saw two SUV-type cars parked close to the residence, cars that felt familiar to Dylan's mind.
"I kind of recognize those cars," Dylan said softly.
"I saw it too. It was parked in front of Monarch's office," Maya replied.
The door to the Sullivan residence suddenly opened, revealing the figure of a male servant in a maid's outfit standing looking at Dylan. Dylan and Maya gasped, turning to the servant and looking at him thoughtfully.
"Mr. Dylan, you are expected by Richard Sullivan," the waiter said, leaving the door open to let Dylan in.
Dylan nodded, clearing his throat softly. As he walked up the small flight of steps to the doorway, he was surprised to see Richard and Louis sitting in the living room, apparently conversing seriously with three guests, Watson's representatives.
"Melissa? Robert? What are you two doing in—"
Dylan's speech was interrupted when he saw an old woman sitting between Melissa and Robert, a woman with her hair in a bun, quite bulky, with wrinkles clearly visible on her face. She sat draped in a beautiful maroon dress, emphasizing her seriousness and dignity.
"Madame Georgina?" asked Dylan, gasping with wide eyes.
"Long time no see, Dylan. I'm glad you're well," said the old woman, speaking softly to Dylan as if she cared for him, even though Dylan had constantly been mistreated by the three during his stay with Watson.
"Your demeanour is much different than when you abused me, Georgina," Dylan explained, fuming.
"I didn't know you were the successor to the Sullivan family. If I had known earlier, maybe I would have paid special attention to you," Georgina said.
She was the head of the Watson family, Robert and Melissa's mother, and Dylan's mother-in-law. All the seeds of hatred in the family towards Dylan were started by Georgina. Her hatred towards Dylan started when he impregnated Melissa while they were drunk.
"So, you treat someone based on their status? Not based on humanity?" asked Dylan sarcastically.
"I've heard it from Dylan. You've always treated my son badly. Is that true?" asked Richard, interrogating Georgina indirectly.
"It's just a misunderstanding. We've always taken care of Dylan so he could get to this point," Georgina said, tongue-in-cheek.
Maya clucked her tongue. The woman had watched Dylan on several occasions, none of which were kind to Dylan, almost all of which were acts of violence and cursing.
"What do they want to do here, Dad?" Dylan asked Richard.
"They're here to clarify what happened to you and to offer cooperation between Watson and Sullivan," Richard said.
"Cooperation? What kind of cooperation?" asked Dylan.
"I don't know, I haven't heard from them yet," Richard replied.
"Monarch and Sully are companies in similar fields. I was thinking of working together to introduce our products to each other so that our market can expand," said Robert.
Dylan narrowed his eyes, but Richard and Louis laughed out loud at that. They realized it was a disadvantageous cooperation because introducing products required a cost plan.
After all, it could be said that the market for Sully Corp was already so extensive to various regions, one of which was the territory now controlled by Monarch. Accepting the request was tantamount to doing twice the work.
"Such a good offer. We'll think about it," Richard said.
Georgina was surprised to hear it because, at first, she thought that Richard and Louis would agree immediately without thinking about it first. The meeting ended quickly. They finished discussing and were now about to say goodbye to leave.
She and Robert left the room, leaving Melissa alone there, standing in front of Dylan. The two of them looked at each other with different feelings. Melissa felt regret, while Dylan felt hatred.
"Are you going back to Watson's?" Melissa asked.
"My home is here, not in Watson. So, I will stay here for a while," Dylan replied.
"How long in the meantime?" asked Melissa, worried.
"Until my revenge is over," replied Dylan.
Melissa widened her eyes, not expecting Dylan to take his revenge on Watson. Melissa fell silent, saying goodbye with a sad expression plastered on her face.
Dylan ushered them away, Robert still upset, but Melissa pleaded as if she did not want Dylan to take revenge on her. They left the residence, with Dylan standing at the door, side by side with Maya.
"What will you do next, Mr. Dylan?" asked Maya, curious.
"I need to do something about them. For that, I need all the information relating to them and Watson's company," replied Dylan.
"I will tell you everything I know about Watson and her company," said Maya.
Dylan smiled broadly, looking to the side at Maya, who was still standing confidently beside Dylan, "I hope you are not busy tonight. We will look into it today.
Dylan arrived in a room that seemed so spacious, deliberately prepared by Richard and Louis because they thought Dylan would need it. The man arrived in awe; there were many luxurious items he had never seen. Maya arrived with a maid. The maid arrived with both hands, holding a metal tray filled with snacks and cold drinks for Dylan to enjoy. Maya could see Dylan's innocent expression when he first saw his office. "Working as a servant in the Watson family won't get you all this, will it?" asked Maya, smiling broadly as she walked in, approaching Dylan, who was still frozen in place standing by a wooden workbench. "Of course. This office room is usually reserved for important people, like CEOs," Dylan replied. "You'll take that position. Mr. Richard and Mrs. Louis are old enough to manage everything," Maya replied. "You know, they need their retirement time to enjoy all the achievements they've made," Maya said. Dylan sighed. He was beginning to realize that they planned to let
***The next day.Maya walked into the Sullivan house and went to Dylan's room. Richard would not be attending the shareholder meeting at the Monarch Office, so he ordered Dylan to go.Richard believed that Dylan could bring something new to either Monarch or Sullivan or Sully Corp. Each shareholder was invited to bring one person, an assistant who would take notes of the meeting.Dylan appointed Maya as his assistant to accompany him through the meeting, Maya showed no objection at all. She was happy because Dylan had indirectly started to trust her. That was why Maya could not let Dylan down. She continued to stride quickly towards the elevator of the house, passing by several servants who seemed to be busy cleaning every corner of the house until the woman was fully inside the elevator. The pulley began to turn, pulling on the strong rope that was able to pull the elevator all the way up. Maya was alone in the elevator, neatly dressed as if she was ready to attend a meeting as imp
"I've gathered you all because I have something to discuss, it has to do with Monarch's sales," Robert said.He started showing the presentation screen with the conclusion that sales for this month and the previous few months were down. They tried to market their services through the media, but the reach was not as wide as they thought."The interest level of our customers is split into two sides, between those who prefer Monarch or Sully," Robert explained, beginning to direct the focus of his conversation to Dylan, who was now sitting next to Maya."Monarch has been trying to work with Sully, obviously to get a wider market reach. But as of now, we haven't gotten any confirmation from Sully," Robert explained."We need to put that aside, I've come up with some ways to deal with this, in case Sully rejects Monarch's proposal," Robert said.He began to explain the ways he meant through a presentation that appeared on a white screen, there were several ways and all of them almost invol
The elevator doors opened, revealing a lobby no longer filled with Monarch employees. They had returned to their rooms, focusing on their unfinished work and ignoring the news of Dylan becoming an heir to the Sullivan Family.Dylan, along with Maya, stepped up to the black sedan parked outside the Monarch office. After seeing Dylan and Maya exit Monarch, several bodyguards immediately got into their own cars."Where are we going?" Maya asked, curious."Since I'm going to be the CEO of Sully Corp, then take me to the company," Dylan pleaded.Maya cleared her throat. She knocked lightly on the glass of the driver's car door, revealing a man who had been waiting for the two to arrive in the car. Maya spontaneously explained Dylan's destination, pointing to the Sully Corp office."Alright," said the driver of the black sedan. Maya nodded with her head seemingly raised, inviting Dylan to get in.Just as Dylan was about to get in to drive away from the office, Dylan's steps stopped when his
"What did you learn there?" asked Richard, inviting Dylan in as they talked together in the CEO's office."Many things, such as financial matters, sales, then projects, and stocks. I need to learn many things while practicing," Dylan explains."Experience is the best teacher. You will benefit a lot if you use your later experiences for learning," Richard explains.Dylan cleared his throat, sitting down on the long, soft available in the CEO's office. Right beside Dylan, he saw Maya sitting next to him. She was not at all reluctant to stay close to Dylan, given that the woman had officially become Dylan's personal assistant."So, you came here to see what Sully Corp is like?" asked Richard."It's like that. You're going to retire, I'll probably take over as CEO. I need to know what a CEO's job is like," Dylan replied."Let me tell you, Dylan. CEO is the easiest, happiest, and most enjoyable job," Richard said."All your work needs will be met by your personal secretary. For example, al
Maya did not hesitate to show us the best restaurant she usually went to for a meal. It was located in the suburbs, close to the beach area. Dylan had already guessed the type of restaurant they would go to when he found out it was near the beach."I hope you like seafood," Maya said, turning around to look at Dylan, who was currently sitting in the back passenger seat.Dylan smiled, looking to the side as his eyes continued to watch the high-rise buildings pass by, "Seafood? I don't hate it at all. In fact, this is the first time I've eaten at a seafood restaurant in a long time.""Didn't Watson ever take you out to eat?" Maya asked."The best meal I've ever had was pizza, even after the Watson family members ate it," Dylan replied, smiling lightly when he had to recall that moment again.Maya turned her head slowly to the driver's side of the car. Both of them showed a sad response after hearing the confession from Dylan. Maya did not expect that Dylan would get such cruel treatment
Dylan came out of the changing room available close to the beach, a total of 10 doors helpful in washing the body after playing satisfied at the beach. Dylan looked so fresh with wet black hair and a thin beachwear suit in the style of a short-sleeved shirt and boxer-like shorts; the clothes and pants had the same color, blue with a typical wave motif painting. The appearance on Dylan's body looked like that of an ordinary citizen, not like an heir to the Sullivan family. He walked on white sandal feet, stepping up to a bodyguard standing at attention in the sun and waiting for Dylan and Maya.He held out a wet shirt and suit to the bodyguard. The man before Dylan accepted the wet clothes, which no longer felt as wet as before. Dylan had wrung them out vigorously to dry.Shortly after, Maya came out of the third door from the right. She looked elegant in a stunning suit, the same shirt and shorts as Dylan, except that she seemed to be wearing a thin robe in a matching color, blue with
Right after going to the beach with Maya, Dylan decided to return to his residence when it was six o'clock in the evening. The time change from day to night occurred at that time, Dylan was still in the car side by side with Maya. The two of them left in their beach suits, which they had not changed into because there were no changes of clothes available. Richard and Louis did not inform Maya at all, even though they had been home since three in the afternoon. Both of them were confident that Maya could take good care of Dylan, so there wasn't the slightest hesitation from either of them when Maya and Dylan hadn't given any definite news. However, they knew that Maya and Dylan were fine as soon as they heard a motorcade pull up in front of the Sullivan residence.Dylan and Maya got out of the car, wearing beach clothes until they were right in front of the door of the Sullivan residence. The door was open and Louis was relaxing in the living room playing with her cell phone."Oh, welc
