118 The Debt
With fear, Mrs. Lucinda inquired. “What is it?”

“I don't know, madam. My master asked me to call your attention.” the guard announced with his head bowed.

Without saying more words, Mrs. Lucinda rushed out of the ward without saying anything to Mrs. Frederick, or Catherine.

She was lost and scared of what might have happened if her husband demanded her urgency.

Her first thought was about Sharon. She feared that Sharon was either dead or something else had happened.

However, she prayed it should be something else and not her daughter because if that happens… she would either run mad, commit suicide and join her daughter in the grave.

Catherine quickly sat up on the sick bed as her entire body trembled with fear.

“Be careful, so you won't end up on the ground, ma'am,” the nurse who was with informed Catherine.

Mrs. Frederick was unsettled as she felt the urge to follow Mrs. Lucinda to find out what happened.
