Chapter 39

Flora and Ted nervously entered their grandfather's study, unsure of what to expect. Their grandfather sat behind his desk, his expression stern as he regarded them.

"Sit down," he said, gesturing to the chairs in front of him.

Flora and Ted exchanged a worried glance before complying. They sat down, fidgeting with their hands as they awaited their grandfather's words.

"I've called you both here because I have some concerns," their grandfather began, his voice serious. "I've heard about your relationships with Jamie and Leah, respectively. Can you explain to me why you've chosen to date individuals who have been divorced?"

Ted, ever eager to defend himself, spoke up first. "Grandpa, I met Leah before I knew about her divorce. I was drawn to her ambition and success. Our relationship has nothing to do with her past."
