Chapter 65

Leah sat outside her house, her eyes red and swollen from crying. She had been lost in her thoughts, consumed by the weight of her failures, when she heard the familiar sound of a car pulling up in the driveway. She looked up to see Salvador stepping out of the car, Austin by his side.

As Austin rushed inside, eager to be back in his own room to play, Leah's heart ached with longing. She missed the comfort of her family, the familiarity of her surroundings. But more than anything, she missed Salvador.

Salvador approached her, his expression unreadable. Leah felt a surge of hope and desperation wash over her. Maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for them to reconcile.
