The Dragon King System

CHAPTER 4

" Oh no we ve gotta stop him, we can't let it get away" he staggers up the floor, holding his waist which was in pain.

" What ? Stop it ? how are we gonna do that ? " Dickson asked bewilderedly

" Well I dunno, we should think of something. Lets get close to it and create magical binding ropes to trap it " Fabien suggested, but Dickson kicked against it.

" That's a really bad idea bro, that thing is so strong " Dickson said, shaking his head.

" Then what do you expect we do ? we can't just let it run into the city. It would kill every single one and untame the monsters, having us go back into slavery for another thousand years."

" I think we can't do this on our own, you should tell your dad, to help out. He would know what to do" Robert suggested but Fabien wasn't cool with it and had to turn it down immediately.

" No, no no, my dad must not hear of this or he would be very mad. Besides, he went for a meeting In another realm so we need to get it done before he comes back and notice anything. " He said and ran out of the building, chasing the dragon.

The monster went ahead spitting fire in the city and destroying of lives and properties. Children and mother's were quickly taken to a safe place to hide as men in the city began to grab their weapons, preparing for war. Rumours was gradually spreading around the city about the starting of another apocalypse that was prophesied, but few debunked it, because it hasn't been up to a thousand years as the prophesy stated. And the Messiah which was promised to be sent to earth realm is yet unknown.

Destruction of the crops was already visible and this time, the information of the dragon's escape had already reached the king's empire; something Fabien was trying really hard to avoid but unfortunately, it was too late because alot of damage had been done and the people had to consult the parliament.

After a futile attempt from Fabien to stop the dragon, he hopelessly went back to his friends who he left behind.

" Hey guys, I couldn't catch it. It's too big and fast" he said panting tiredly.

" Omg, fabein..... what have you done ? The monster had already done so much damage.I mean, take a look at the City" Dickson stretched his hand, showing the city which was already covered in fire. The sight was so terrible to behold. " People are dieing already"

" Mehn we are in big trouble if it's later known that we released the monster" Robert who was laying down under a tree, said; breathing heavily. His skin was still burnt and Dickson had been trying to revive him with his magic skills.

" What's your plan fabein ? I don't want issues with the king and it's parliaments for breaking and entering into the secret chamber. That would be dangerous for I and my family," he panicked knowing how disastrous it would be if the people finds out they released the monster. They would definitely pay for the live that had been lost. Breaking into the king's chamber alone was a serious offense on its own, and then the worst of all, releasing the monster which killed and enslaved the people for a thousand years. Tensed up Fabien gave it a rapid thought for some seconds and came up with a plan.

" What if we act like we don't know a thing about it ?" He suggested

" And then if he finds out himself.....you know that's gonna be worst, right ?" dickson replied

" He wouldn't, okay..... So let's pick up our weapons and join the soldiers in fighting this monster so it won't look suspicious" fabein replied

" Okay but what's about him" Dickson pointed to Robert who possible couldn't stand up, talk more of fighting.

" Take him to the nearest hospital" fabein concluded and grabbed his swords to join the soldiers, and then, Dickson joined him shortly.

They got to the city garden and saw that the soldiers and all men of Earth realm were already in a serious fight with the monster. They shielded themselves from the fire it's spitting out and attacked with their sword and arrows, but non seem to cut deep into its skin, leaving it with just a scratch.

They all began shooting at it with their bow and arrow at a greater force and when the monster saw how it was almost defeated, it spreads it wings and flew, in order to escape but suddenly a great force of light hit it from the sky down to the ground and out of the light, came out Lord Morgan and his 7 wizards . The people faces brightened in delight at the sight of their Messiah.

Lugard opened his eyes and found himself laying down on a sandy ground but this time was different. He wasn't in a strange land anymore, but a place he was well familiar with. "EARTH REALM"

" Ohhh shit, not this," he sighs in disappointment as he stood up angrily and kicked a can in front of him. He had begged the old wizard to allow him stay for at least a week, so he could be a little bit familiar with the great world of wonderland everyone was dieing to visit— but to no avail.

He wasn't even sure if he would have a chance to to visit again and it was really pissing him off. His head couldn't just stop thinking about tasha and Alicia. Their beauty was all he could imagine and he wished he had spent more time with them too.

He hits the road as the thought of his parents came to him suddenly. It's already been a day and maybe the news of his death must have gone viral. People were definitely gonna get surprise when they see him in his fresh new body, and now that he has the new looks and a strange power called the system, he was gonna be the coolest kid in school.

though the wizard had warned him never to tell anyone the kind of power he possess, which he doesn't know why, but his power would speak forth and leave people wondering; which would be more interesting.

He couldn't wait for his mockers to see him in his current personality, which made him increased his pace when he was approaching the city. But suddenly his face saddened when he got a glimpse of a really disheartening sight.

The sight of the collapsing city had suddenly instill a sense of surprise, and fear in him that he had to pause for a bit.

Properties were destroyed so bad that he wondered if the world had come to an end.

He had never seen the city in such chaotic situation ever before. He took a few steps further into the city and his heart broke down when he saw a family he's familiar with, all laying dead on the ground with their house destroyed. In shock, he quickly ran hysterically into the burning city to go get his parents.

"I must reach for my mum and dad at once," he said running. He wasn't sure what was happening, maybe the apocalypse that was prophesied about had come but all he cared was to get to see his family who were slaves, Working in the palace. He ran to some extent but stopped when he had sighted the city's garden.

He was amazed to see a large population of people; at least, almost the whole city, gathered around a very huge dragon creature which was in turn, fighting to escape.

He wondered what was holding such a huge creature down until he sprinted further to join the crowd and saw Lord Morgan and his wizards using magical powers to restrict the angry dragon from flying away. Lugard was so surprised to see a powerful and mighty creature that even Lord Morgan was sweating in order to capture. His gaze was still focused on the amazing scenario when someone called his name and tapped his shoulder softly.

" Lugard"

" Mom.... Dad.... "

" Where have you been baby ? " they asked as he fell into their arms for a warm embrace. Tears were obviously falling down his mom's cheek.

" We have been looking all over for you, I thought we had lost you "

" Mom am fine. What's happening here ? " He asked and his dad replied

" The monster king which was trapped in the king's chamber, has finally escaped from its cage today and its been causing havock. Lord Morgan and his wizards has been trying to trap it and take it to its cage but it seems all attempts are failing " His dad replied but he noticed his parents staring at him in surprise. He knew they had so many questions in mind, like where he had been and how his skin had suddenly changed but the current situation wasn't conducive for the to ask; as the whole of Earth realm was in serious chaos.

" But I thought ....." Lugard was about to say something when they heard the sound of the large city bell and everyone startled out.

The bell hasn't been rang for the past 1000 years, cause anytime it been heard, it signify's that the city is in a really serious situation thats beyond the human power.

" " What's happening ? " everyone gathered, began murmuring In fear. A barrier was formed between the people and the dragon to prevent it from running into the crowd but it's gradually breaking free.

They watched as Lord Morgan took his hands off the monster and went for a mic. Everyone kept silent as they were all interested in whatever he wanted to say as they all believed their lives now lies in his hands. focused on his facial expressions, they all watched as he began his speech.

" Good day everyone of Earth realm. With utmost regret , we have tried all we could to trap this monster and we couldn't" he said and the crowd began murmuring in fear and confusion. " But now it's an open floor. After the first apocalypse, I set up a school to train pupils in self defense for times like this and now, am throwing the challenge to them. Anyone who is able to defeat this monster is gonna be rewarded and made an offer next to me."

As soon as Lord Morgan said this, the murmuring increased. People were scared because he was the only strongest amidst them and no one has been able to get to his level. Immediately, the teachers of the magic School lined up all it's pupils and picked the seven best for the challenge which Fabien and his sister, Stacy were part of them but they chickened away when they realize how strong and difficult the dragon was, leaving just five student against the moster . The war drums were set and everyone who gathered spaced out a little bit for the Challengers who seem willing to lay down their lives for earth realm.

They hit the drums to begin the match. The first pupil attacked but was immediately burnt with fire the dragon spit out of it's mouth. The dragon moved forward and wanted to step on him but Lord Morgan used his magic in defending the him. Seeing how dangerous the dragon is, the rest of the students decided to join hands in fighting it. They used their magic skill to form a magical fireball that could burn down a whole city and stone it at the dragon but it swallowed it like it was nothing and the people watched to see if it would explode in it's Tommy, but after some minutes, they discovered the fire ball had quenched in it's stomach and everyone was shocked. Of course it was a dragon and there was nothing the fireball could do to it.

The pupil's drew out their swords and began fighting. The dragon spat fire sporadically at them while they shielded themselves with a magical shield. The whole crowd were amazed by the skills of the pupils. Their stunts, magic practices and sword skills were extraordinary. It was really clear that they were really the best students. Despite the thick skin of the dragon and how it protected itself with it's wings, they somehow managed to give it a cut at the side of its stomach, and it began to bleed (thick bloods)

" Woooahhh.... " the crowd cheered them for giving the monster it's first cut. Lord Morgan nodded his head with a smile on his face, feeling proud of his idea of the magic School. He was really feeling like a genius. Just as everyone was hailing and rejoicing for how skilled the pupils were, suddenly the unexpected happened.

The place where the monster was cut healed rapidly right at everyone's watchful eyes, and it became so smooth like nothing happened.

Their faces darkened. Lord Morgan wore a gloom on his face and his wizards were all surprised.

" Master, did you see that ? It's healing by itself" One of the wizard whispered to him in shock.

" Yes, I can "

" But how ? this wasn't how it was the last time you fought it, right ? " He asked

" No. How was it even able to escape again...?" He asked the wizard in a suspicious mood, as he stares at the dragon.

" I think it broke free on it's own sir"

" Hmmm, I don't think so, something is wrong somewhere " He doubted.

Not relenting, the pupils tried to attack again but this time, the the moster got fed up and really angry. It spit fire out of its mouth that was so powerful to break the magical shield formed by the pupils and they all fell on the ground and couldn't get up. It was like the monster became even more stronger as it got healed. It stepped forward to burn the pupils but once again, Lord Morgan used his magic skills in helping the pupils out of the monsters sight.

The whole crowd were down as their faces clouded in disappointment. They never believed no one in the city could defeat the monster.

" Are these the only best pupils you have, Mrs monohen ? " He disappointedly asked the teacher who begins to stutter and didn't know what to say.

" These are the best sir, we don't have any other" Miss monohen replied and took a glance at the rest of the pupils and then continued, " or is there anyone of you who is willing to take up the challenge ? " She asked as everyone one was watching eargerly for a person but non of them signified.

They were all tensed seeing how mighty the dragon is. She wanted to turn to the king and express her apology when suddenly the dragon loosed control and ran into the crowd to attack the people; then a blow landed on it's cheek that made it swug back to its spot, landing heavily on the ground. Everyone was surprised and Lord Morgan was looking at the crowd to know where the blow came from and suddenly,

" " Yes, I'm in " they heard a voice out of the crowd and everyone shifted their gaze. They saw a hand up and they were all waiting to see who the person is— only for them to see lugard stepping outta the crowd and walking directly to where the king was.
