CHAPTER 5. DEFEATING THE DRAGON

The pupils eye's opened In awe as he walked confideny to where the king was seated with his sword. His eyes darted to fabein and his sister who were also caught up in surprise, and he could hear them whisper about his smooth body which was radiating in the sun. Suddenly, everywhere became calm. His presence, already speaking authority.

" I will take the challenge, my Lord," he stood in front of the king and spoke confidently. But got interrupted.

" Omg! what do you think you are doing ? weakling.... do you think here is a place to play ? You don't even know how to handle a sword yet " Fabien bitterly stood up from his seat to protest.

" Yes, i go with fabien. You are very poor in class and ofcourse, this isn't for you." The teacher interjected, taking fabiens side and everybody began murmuring. Ofcourse, she was gonna support fabien, he's the king's son.

" Hey, quiet everyone." Lord Morgan calmed down the crowd and gently stood up from his seat and walked to LUGARD and said. "good luck, kid."he then walked back to his seat.

Lugard drew out his sword, the one given to him as a gift from the old wizard, and faced the dragon eye ball to eyeball as it fumes at him.

[DEFEAT THE DRAGONS AND RELEASE THE LAZER POWER ] the system said and with a cocky smile on his face, He took a fighting stance and licks his lips.

As usual, the dragons eyes changed to blood red and it tried to attack lugard but he activated his sprint ability, and with the speed of light, he suddenly appeared at the monsters back.

" Woaahhhh.. " The crowd were struck with a jaw dropping surprise, including the king and his children. They haven't seen anyone from the school with such a speed before. Lugard quickly attacked the monster with his sword while he shielded himself from the fire the dragon was spitting at him.

He didn't know how he was suddenly so good with sword skills. It seems like the sword was the one controlling him on what to do, as everyone got amazed.

Despite the strength of the dragon, he managed to hit it with his sword, cutting through its sharp wings which fell on the ground heavily.

The crowd began to cheer him up and the king happily stood up from his to applaud lugard's amazing ability, but something happened. In the midst of the praises and happiness from the people, the dragons wing levitated from the ground and got attached to its normal position and began to heal up. Suddenly, the faces of the crowd became gloomy. Their eyes opened in fear as it healed rapidly.

" Oh mehn !" Lugard exclaimed

The dragon spits fire to hit lugard which he protected with his shield, but fell on the ground because of the intensity of the fire.

"Oh mehn, I can't kill this thing " he said devastatedly under his breath.

[[YOU SHOULDN'T KILL IT, TAME IT ]] The system spoke in his head loudly.

" What ? " He replied in surprise. The dragon couldn't be tammed by even Lord Morgan himself and that's why it was locked out for centuries.' he thought.

"That's impossible. How do you expect I do that ? "

[[TRY GETTING ON ITS HEAD AND PLACE YOUR RIGHT HAD ON IT ]] The system said

" Oh okay," he replied and quickly stood to his feet, holding his sword to attack again. Without relenting, the dragon swung its sharp wings towards lugard who continued to protect himself with his shield while he striked back with his sword, which seems not to be having any effect on the dragon.

The rage at which the dragon was fighting lugard was so intensed and different from the others.

The guy who walked to the challenge confidently was now breathing heavily.

In the middle of the fight, his eyes darted to see Fabien and Stacy and he could see the smile on their faces. It was so obvious that they were expecting the end of him to come real quick.

Finally, the systems activated the jump skill when it was time and a force lifted him from the ground so fast, and he landed on the head of the dragon.

" Woahhhhh" once again, the crowd was stunned by what they saw. They had never seen someone jumped so high like that before. Even Lord Morgan opened his mouth gawking at lugard.

The dragon was stuggling to shake lugard of its body but a belt kept lugard glued to it

" Okay, now what ? " Lugard asked as he placed his right hand on the head of the dragon and the invisible window appeared in front him, displaying [[ TAME MONSTER ]] and a green button below to activate.

Already, the crowd were screaming, "kill it ! kill it ! kill it !" but eventually, lugard clicked on the green button and something happened.

The blood-red eyes of the dragon changed to blue and a white light came out of its mouth, swirling around them before it entered their bodies and the monster became calm.

" What ??? " Lord Morgan stood up from his seat in great shock when he saw this . It was a sign that the great dragon had been tamed. " This is impossible ! " He blurted seeing the dragon now acting like a pet dog to lugard who was now comfortably tapping its head.

The crowd which was once noisy became silent for what had happened. Lugard had hit the tame button and the impossible had happened. The dragon lowered its head down to the ground for lugard, who gently stepped down.

There was a pause as everyone stared at him in respect for a minute before they finally began to applaud him. He stood in the middleof thr city garden, surrounded by the crowd, and feeling honoured as they showered praises on him.

It was the second time in his life that he's been celebrated and it felt so cool.

" lugard! Lugard! Lugard! was all you could hear from the people and his eyes darted to see fabien and Stacy who raised their chin, staring at him in shock and seething in anger. He broke the barrier which was created between the dragon and the people, and the crowd all gathered around him. They lifted him high as they praised his name while some were carefully examining the dragon, which was sitting still and calm. They touched its skin to feel its hard texture like the history said and even took pictures of it.

The jubilation stopped when they heard the sound of a bell by the soldiers, and everyone was silent and gave way for the king, approaching lugard with a frown. Lugard had just tammed the monster but deep down, he felt nervous as the king stood close, shooting him a glare.

" I asked you to trap the monster or kill it, not tame it !" Lord Morgan said when he approached lugard.

" I.....I ....." Lugard stutters nervously. " I never planned to...."

" Shhhhhh" Lord Morgan interrupted and suddenly, his face brightened up. "Congrats champion, I love it. You have done what I myself couldn't do and for that, you will be rewarded." He said and turns to the crowd.

" Ladies and gentlemen, meet my new PA. Lugard brosfield" he announcing, making the crowd began clap relentlessly.

The smile of the king softened lugards heart and he felt relaxed.

" My maidens are gonna prepare you and get you dressed in the royal robe, as there's gonna be a party tonight to celebrate our victory" Lord Morgan concluded and walked away as the whole crowd dance in joy.

The maiden quickly rushed and took lugard away, escorted by the guards, while everyone was celebrating him. He was wanting to meet with his parents but they didn't give him the chance to, as he was being placed in a royal chariot and as rode away, he sighted his parents and waved at them. His heart skipped when the dragon spreaded it wings and flew away but the system told him not to worry.

[ DONT WORRY, IT'S IN A SAFE PLACE. IT WILL COME ANYTIME YOU ARE IN NEED]] the system said and lugard relaxed

They arrived the palace and he opened his mouth in awe as the giant gate opened and they rode in. All his life, he has never seen beyond the gates of the palace before. Even though his parents were palace workers, they weren't allowed to bring any relations in. The chariots rode into and the palace and all the guards bowed in honour as they passed. When they arrived, a royal cloth was placed on the ground for him to walk on, and he couldn't believe it.

" Is this really necessary ? " He asked the guard

" Yes, it is. This is what being the king's PA is all about " the guard replied.

" Wow, " he exclaimed as he stepped on it and walked in. The moment he got into the palace, he was stunned by what he saw. There were really beautiful maiden's than the one's he saw outside. The maidens were of different races, tribes, and continent. All his life, he never believed he could have a Chance to see a foreign lady talk more of seeing most of them from all part of the world in one palace. 'no wonder fabien doesn't really gives a shit about girl's in the school. He only use and dumped them because he has seen the best.' he thought.

All head's were bowed as he was escorted to his private lounge.

" Sir, this is the room you would stay and get prepared for the party " the escort said to lugard who was staring around the gigantic room in awe

" But I don't know my way around" he complained when he saw how complicated the technology used in the building was.

" Don't worry, the maidens would get you prepared "

" Maidens ? What maidens ? " Lugard just finished asking and the door opened for three beautiful blond skin ladies dressed in a golden attire. Their ravishing smell filled the whole room and he was stunned by their beauty.

" Okay sir, I will leave you guys now " the escort said and walked out of the room, leaving him and the ladies alone.

" Don't worry sir, we would get you prepared in no time" they sweetly said to him.

He was nervous at first when they tried to take off his clothes for him, but later succumbed.

They prepared his water and took him to the bath tub. The ladies gave him a warm bath and a foot/body massage. The whoke thing was new to him as had never been treated highly before. After the bath, they creamed his body with a nice fagrance and got him dressed in another royal robe which was made specially for kings.

The maidens left the room when they were done and he relaxed, getting entertained by the TV. Some minutes later, his escort knocked and walked into the room.

" The party is ready, sir "

" Wow , so fast. " Lugard checked his time and was surprised to see it was 8pm sharp already .

" Okay then " he followed the escourt who was also followed by some other securities assigned to him on his way. He had four guards at his back. His mind was blown away when he arrived the reception. The party was in full swing and everyone was already dancing and getting intense fun. He saw his friends and waved at them, was hoping to go sit with them, but the guard walked him to the executive section where the king's chiefs and great men of the nation were seated. It was a great privilege for him to see the queen of Berlin.

FABIEN...

The party was getting so intensed but angry fabein and his friends stood at the side of the palace, having a private discussion

" Mehn, I really can't believe this jerk is being celebrated in my father's palace. Is this a dream or what ? " Fabien said angrily

" But I thought he died, how come he came back with a smooth and attractive skin. How was he even able to survive that push from the Cliff ?". Dickson wondered in confusion.

" Goddammm ! His skin and survival isn't really the issue right now. My problem is, how was he able to get so strong and skilled " Fabien said as he scratches his head in frustration. He felt like the whole world wasn't about him anymore but lugard.

" Or is he the truly the Messiah everyone the prophesy had talked about ?" Robert chipped in and was silenced immediately

" Shut up your mouth ! That weakling cannot be the Messiah. If there's any Messiah here on Earth realm, then it should be me, coward. " He said angrily and walked away

" Where are you going?" his friends asked

" To show that kid that he can be good but he isn't good enough "

they quickly ran to meet up with him as he walked into an abandoned garage in the palace. He brought out the magical spell book which he had in his dress and opened it quickly.

" What are you doing ? "

" Looking for a way to silent that guy forever " he replied, flipping the pages

" No...no no no don't do this , it's dangerous. We just finished dealing with one problem already" Dickson detested

" I know what am doing. This monster is'nt gonna attack everyone like the first one. It's gonna go for it's target "

" But you see how strong he is now, he is gonna kill it at sight."

" That is if he knows what's coming, and I won't let that happen " he said and finally stopped at a page, and began to recite the magical spell

Everyone was serving themselves and it was time for people to dance with their partners. Lugard saw his parents sitting a bit far away from him, holding hands and dancing as they smiled. He turned around to see alot of beautiful ladies winking at him to see if he would choose them for the dance. He was staring and was about to pick one of the beautiful maiden's when suddenly, a strange beautiful lady walked through the entrance door of the palace that caught the attention of everyone.

Both male and females stared at her as she walks majestically in her beautiful red gown, her smell covering part of the room. She stopped in front of lugard and stretched her hand for a handshake

" Hello handsome, can you dance with me ? " she asked in a seductive tone he couldn't resist..

" Yes, of-course.."

He took her hand and they start to dance rhythmically to the sound of the music. He got intoxicated by her smell and he could see through her eyes. He hadn't seen a girl as beautiful as she is before.

" Where are you from ? " He asked her but she didn't reply. She was Just staring into his eyes and smiling. Her lips was so temping to him and just as he was about to give her a kiss, he heard the systems voice in his head, again

[ DANGER ! MANIPULATION DETECTED ]

" What are you talking about " he said and all of a sudden the lady began to act weird. He looked into her eyes and noticed that it changes to different colors every sec. He kept staring close but suddenly startled out when he got a vision of a beast in his head

" Who are you ? " he asked her again, more confused and suddenly, she smiled and whispered to him. Am your worst night-mare and I'm here to kill you." immediately she pulled out a knife and tried to stab him but his Royal robe was so strong that it couldn't penetrate. Lugard hit the knife off her hand and landed a blow on her cheek. She staggered and fell on the floor. People who already noticed what was happening, focused their attention on them.

" Who are you ? " He asked again and wanted ordering the guards to arrest her but then,. She stood up from the floor and tore her skin; exposing a really deadly beast that made everyone screamed in fear.
