The Offer Is Accepted

"Nice question. That’s what you should’ve asked earlier, instead of throwing insults at us," Mr. Turner sneered. He leaned back, then added calmly, "Aren’t you going to offer us a seat first? Maybe some wine? Then we can start talking."

“Why should I? You are not welcome guests in my house,” Alexander snapped.

“Believe me we are, you will consider us the most valuable guests in eight years after you’ve heard what we have to say”.

Still frowning, Alexander hesitantly gestured towards a couch without saying a word and the men made themselves comfortable.

"And what about the wine? Haven’t you had your servants bring it yet?" the obese Mr. Montclair asked, his tone laced with curiosity.

"No one’s giving you anything—not even water," Alexander snapped, his voice edged with irritation. "Now, tell me why you’re here and leave!"
