Chapter Forty

Sheila pushed open the door to the study harshly ignoring the loud bang from the impact, she strode inside and was met head-on with her fuming father. Her father was standing before her, separated by his office table and he was glaring at her as if he wanted to strangle her.

“What the hell is your problem, young lady, why would you barge in like that?” Her father snarled, he spoke at the top of his voice, his forehead scrunched up with the veins so obvious she could see it from where she stood.

Sheila felt half her anger vanish as she took in the sight of her father, from his wounded lips probably from worrying them too much and the obvious shadows underneath his eyes, and his eyes were scarily angry and distant. He looked like he hadn't left this room for months and had lost a visible amount of weight. The sight of her father like this made her heart clench.
