Keith leaned further into his seat, the soft cushion of the seat helping him get more comfortable, as he enjoyed the soft tunes coming from the small speakers in the café. He reached for the cup of coffee sitting on the table before him and took a swift sniff of its content before taking it to his lips. It was just as he liked it, he thought to himself as he took another gulp of the coffee, black and with the right amount of sugar, the baristas here never failed to disappoint. That was why he had recommended this café for his meeting with Camila after she had nearly canceled their meeting today because she had gotten delayed with one of her other clients. When he had suggested they meet outside her office, Camila had been skeptical and quick to decline but he had foreseen her disapproval before it came and had prepared enough argument to change her mind, but in the long run she gave in.

One of the things he has noticed about Camila, was that she was always on edge about everything a

Keith watched as Camila chewed on her straw, her attention on the tablet on the table. He had been right in his assumption that she would prefer plain yogurt to anything flavored but had been wrong to think she would like her coffee black just because of that. He cracked into a smile recalling how her face scrunched up in disgust as she took a sip from the black coffee, Camila liked her coffee creamy and with enough sugar to give anyone cavities.“Ok, it appears you are looking for somewhere settling and not entirely out of touch from the outside world yet reclusive,” Camila mumbled under her breath her gaze not leaving her tablet, as her long manicured fingers swiped through the screen. “You are on point.” He told her unsure if she was listening to him. He took more gulps from his almost cold coffee, finishing it at once, before setting his cup down. “Would you prefer a stand alone house or a semi detached one?” she questioned, finally taking her gaze off the tablet. He shrugged,

Keith stormed into the hotel ignoring the greetings of the staff as he stormed past them, his attention on the elevator ahead desperate to get into his room. He couldn't help but notice the hotel lobby was swamped with more people than they had been since he lodged into the hotel_ and of all days it had to be today. And of all days to run into his spiteful ex-wife, it had to be today and unluckily for him, he ran into her when he was meeting with Camila. “Mr. Thompson_,” Keith growled as he heard someone call him from behind and the sound of approaching footsteps. “What do you want?” He growled when he felt the presence of someone beside him.“Is everything okay sir?” The staff asked, sounding concerned as she hastened her pace to catch up with him. No, he was not okay. He felt far from okay. And he needed to be left alone for goodness sake.“What do you want?” He asked again, this time his tone was harsher since he didn’t attempt to mask his anger.Keith did not miss the way the

The car pulled over in front of the familiar house structure of the Hockings. He looked out the window taking in the surroundings of the place he once considered a home. He remembered the night of his wedding with Sheila when he had her in his arms both grinning at each other like idiots as they stepped into the threshold of the house after promising each other forever at the church. Sheila had requested that they live in her family's house after marriage. 'Just for a month baby,’ were Sheila's exact words to him that night when he disagreed. He didn't last long though and like always he agreed to her request because Sheila always had a way of changing his mind without even many words and he became a helpless pushover in his desperate attempt to make her happy.“Yo man, you cool?” Keith dragged his gaze back to the black man behind the wheels. Keith had run into him again at his favorite cafe on a hot afternoon and he could never forget the man who had shown him sympathy when he was

Sheila regarded Keith with a look of amusement, stunned that he had the bravery to show his face to her family after all the putting him in his place that she had done. Her eyes raked over the repulsing lowlife, glaring at him with flared nostrils. Keith has clearly not been suffering, she noted, comparing the Keith before her now and the Keith she had seen last when he was sobbing pathetically behind bars. The first time she met Keith, it had been hate at first sight. He was poor yet a hopeless dreamer aiming for things that someone like him shouldn't dream about, like herself for example. She shunned him multiple times but had to change tactics after he somehow managed to get a deal her father had been after, a deal that had belonged to her father. So she went after him, promising her father to get back what should have been rightfully his and get back at Keith. “Frank isn't a loan shark?” Keith repeated, a bit of his resolve dissolving but he quickly covered it up. She scoffed,

Keith ran his fingers through his hair releasing a deep sigh as he drank directly from the wine bottle. He was seated on the lounge chair by the balcony with his legs spread wide apart and bottles of wine between them. He was still dressed as he had been dressed for his confrontation with the Hockings except his buttons were undone, his belt was lying a few meters away from him, and now bare feet. When he had arrived back at his hotel he had been grateful to find that the lobby was almost empty and he didn't forget to get his key card but none of that could get his mind off the ultimate shock he had gotten today. Anytime he let his guard down with the Hockings they just came with a much harder blow to leave a stronger impact, they never ceased to surprise him. But he was angry at himself because somewhere deep in him he had a bit of faith in Sheila, now he felt nothing but despise for her and her family. None of that mattered now anyway, he took a chug down from his bottle, grimacing

Mr. Kevin eyed Keith curiously, raising a brow at him, “Who Sir?” The old man figured quickly he wouldn't be getting an answer from the young man seated across him as his gaze was locked elsewhere and his face was no longer calm and approachable as it was a few seconds earlier, now replaced with a guarded look and stiff stance. Mr. Kevin glanced over his shoulder to catch a glimpse of who could have gotten his new boss this riled up. Mr. Kevin adjusted his square rimmed glasses to get a better look at the figure standing beside the approaching secretary and his brow arched upwards a bit further as he dawned with recognition, “Mr. Hockings,” he mumbled moving his attention back to his Keith and to his surprise found him already staring, regarding him with a curious gaze.“You know him,” Keith asked, his voice dangerously dipped in an icy tone.Mr. Kevin tensed, surprised by the change of attitude unsure how to react Knowing a wrong move could cost him his job if he wasn't careful, exc

Mr. Hockings stepped out of his black Mercedes Benz with a grumpy expression and his face twisted into an ugly sneer as he helped his wife out of the car and his daughter, Sheila stepped out as the driver held the door open for her. Sheila's growl was instantly replaced with a fake smile as she noticed the place was more packed with people than she had expected.“Common, dear, smile.” Mrs Hockings told her husband with a sympathetic smile, patting his arm as he reached to tuck her hand beneath his arm. “Mum is right, Dad, you have been moody all day and the incident with Keith happened yesterday,” Sheila backed up her mother with an exasperated sigh, “You keep on bringing up his matter, and all our attempts to help you cheer up is just not working, and you are not making it easy dad.”Mrs Hockings nodded, “You are dwelling too much on that boy and that is doing you no good.”The sneer doesn't leave Mr. Hockings’ face, a pained look flashed through his eyes before shifting into annoya

Keith nodded in agreement, watching the woman seated before with intent concentration. Mrs. Genevieve was the next oldest member of his family's business line after Mr. Kevin and as Keith took in her figure he suspected she was older than Mr. Kevin, her skin was more wrinkled and her movements slower. Mrs. Genevieve was nice and graceful, her aura screaming someone who grew up with money and is still swimming in it.“Your mother used to tell me so much about you, Keith and it's great to finally meet you” Mrs. Genevieve smiled at Keith, taking a sip from her wine. Keith flashed her a polite smile back, “I can't say my parents ever told me about you Mrs. Genevieve but it is still an honor meeting you.”Mrs. Genevieve nodded, “It's about time you take your position, we have long awaited this moment.”“I am also looking forward to this experience and looking forward to learning from all of you.” Keith held out his glass and Mrs. Genevieve hurriedly raised hers to clink it together. “And

Mr. Corner’s actions, as described by these witnesses, align perfectly with this behavior. This is not just a man who mistreats employees. This is a man capable of anything, including the crimes he’s charged with." She said as the courtroom erupted in whispers."What the actual hell! This man is a beast." She paused, turning slightly toward Abraham at the defense table. "Let’s begin by calling Mr. Corner to the witness stand.""Mr. Corner, please take the stand." The judge said as Abraham stood, his movements deliberate and unhurried. Dressed immaculately in a tailored suit, he exuded confidence as he made his way to the witness stand. His face was unreadable, a mask of composure. After being sworn in, he sat down, clasping his hands lightly on the armrest."Mr. Corner, let’s start with your relationship with Mrs. Genevieve.
