Sheila regarded Keith with a look of amusement, stunned that he had the bravery to show his face to her family after all the putting him in his place that she had done. Her eyes raked over the repulsing lowlife, glaring at him with flared nostrils. Keith has clearly not been suffering, she noted, comparing the Keith before her now and the Keith she had seen last when he was sobbing pathetically behind bars. The first time she met Keith, it had been hate at first sight. He was poor yet a hopeless dreamer aiming for things that someone like him shouldn't dream about, like herself for example. She shunned him multiple times but had to change tactics after he somehow managed to get a deal her father had been after, a deal that had belonged to her father. So she went after him, promising her father to get back what should have been rightfully his and get back at Keith. “Frank isn't a loan shark?” Keith repeated, a bit of his resolve dissolving but he quickly covered it up. She scoffed,
Keith ran his fingers through his hair releasing a deep sigh as he drank directly from the wine bottle. He was seated on the lounge chair by the balcony with his legs spread wide apart and bottles of wine between them. He was still dressed as he had been dressed for his confrontation with the Hockings except his buttons were undone, his belt was lying a few meters away from him, and now bare feet. When he had arrived back at his hotel he had been grateful to find that the lobby was almost empty and he didn't forget to get his key card but none of that could get his mind off the ultimate shock he had gotten today. Anytime he let his guard down with the Hockings they just came with a much harder blow to leave a stronger impact, they never ceased to surprise him. But he was angry at himself because somewhere deep in him he had a bit of faith in Sheila, now he felt nothing but despise for her and her family. None of that mattered now anyway, he took a chug down from his bottle, grimacing
Mr. Kevin eyed Keith curiously, raising a brow at him, “Who Sir?” The old man figured quickly he wouldn't be getting an answer from the young man seated across him as his gaze was locked elsewhere and his face was no longer calm and approachable as it was a few seconds earlier, now replaced with a guarded look and stiff stance. Mr. Kevin glanced over his shoulder to catch a glimpse of who could have gotten his new boss this riled up. Mr. Kevin adjusted his square rimmed glasses to get a better look at the figure standing beside the approaching secretary and his brow arched upwards a bit further as he dawned with recognition, “Mr. Hockings,” he mumbled moving his attention back to his Keith and to his surprise found him already staring, regarding him with a curious gaze.“You know him,” Keith asked, his voice dangerously dipped in an icy tone.Mr. Kevin tensed, surprised by the change of attitude unsure how to react Knowing a wrong move could cost him his job if he wasn't careful, exc
Mr. Hockings stepped out of his black Mercedes Benz with a grumpy expression and his face twisted into an ugly sneer as he helped his wife out of the car and his daughter, Sheila stepped out as the driver held the door open for her. Sheila's growl was instantly replaced with a fake smile as she noticed the place was more packed with people than she had expected.“Common, dear, smile.” Mrs Hockings told her husband with a sympathetic smile, patting his arm as he reached to tuck her hand beneath his arm. “Mum is right, Dad, you have been moody all day and the incident with Keith happened yesterday,” Sheila backed up her mother with an exasperated sigh, “You keep on bringing up his matter, and all our attempts to help you cheer up is just not working, and you are not making it easy dad.”Mrs Hockings nodded, “You are dwelling too much on that boy and that is doing you no good.”The sneer doesn't leave Mr. Hockings’ face, a pained look flashed through his eyes before shifting into annoya
Keith nodded in agreement, watching the woman seated before with intent concentration. Mrs. Genevieve was the next oldest member of his family's business line after Mr. Kevin and as Keith took in her figure he suspected she was older than Mr. Kevin, her skin was more wrinkled and her movements slower. Mrs. Genevieve was nice and graceful, her aura screaming someone who grew up with money and is still swimming in it.“Your mother used to tell me so much about you, Keith and it's great to finally meet you” Mrs. Genevieve smiled at Keith, taking a sip from her wine. Keith flashed her a polite smile back, “I can't say my parents ever told me about you Mrs. Genevieve but it is still an honor meeting you.”Mrs. Genevieve nodded, “It's about time you take your position, we have long awaited this moment.”“I am also looking forward to this experience and looking forward to learning from all of you.” Keith held out his glass and Mrs. Genevieve hurriedly raised hers to clink it together. “And
Keith heaved a sigh of relief and turned his head to acknowledge Sheila, he glared at her and her company. The Hockings were going overboard with this, disrespecting his associates. It had been the same with Mr. Hockings and Mr. Peter and this annoyed Keith a lot.Sheila leveled his glare, completely unshaken, and her amused grin grew. “Looks like we got Thompson angry.”Jenny scoffed, “Kinky bastard.” She reached for a glass of wine from a passing waiter. “He must really care for the bitch, isn't that cute?” Keith glanced around watching as heads snapped in his direction and then leaned in to whisper. He needed to get rid of them, and fast. “What do you want?” He knew there was no point asking this but he did anyway. The sooner they were done embarrassing him the sooner they left.Sheila scoffed, “Don't sound so mad Thompson, I'm not even here for you and yet you are acting like I'm obsessed with you.”Jenny giggled, putting her empty glass on Keith's table, “She is not obsessed,”
Mrs Genevieve paused as she watched three men run towards her. She recognized them, they all happened to be in her security team, and the man in the center happened to be the head of the department. She smiled to herself, their timing was perfect and now she didn't have to stress herself looking for them. “Ma'am, are you alright?” Her head security quizzed, his expression marred with worry as he took in her figure.“Why wouldn't I be okay?” She fired back, craving another glass of wine.“We heard about the commotion with the ladies but we had been dealing with other issues,” the head of security explained with a somber look. “We apologize for our absence. We promise it won't happen again.”Mrs. Genevieve didn't bat her lash as the three men bowed, mumbling their sorry.“I was coming for you guys actually,” she caught the way they all visibly winced and she immediately clarified, “It has nothing to do with your absence, relax jeez. I can handle myself just fine.” The men peeped at ea
Keith threw his head back and let out a laugh. “She just won't take the hint.”Camila's eyes narrowed on Keith who appeared to be too calm despite his ex-girlfriend's confrontation. She watched as he brushed the stray strands away from his face. “Your ex is so problematic. She didn't know that was your party, did she?*Keith thought about the answer to give her and he nodded hopefully she won't ask for an explanation. “No.”“And she doesn't know how wealthy you are?” Camila asked but Keith could tell that she already knew what the answer would be.Keith nodded, “Yes, for several reasons.”Camila smirked and emptied her wine glass, “Shall we?” She nudged her head at the stairs, “I'm in the mood for more wine.”“Yeah me too, let's go.”Keith gulped down nothing and silently agreed. He needed a drink for liquid courage so he wouldn't back down when he wanted to ask her to dance. He wondered what could be on Camila's mind as they silently made their way down the spiral stairs and as they
