As the trucks and tanks rolled into the outskirts of the empire, there was surprisingly an eerie calm. It was the evening of the same day and there was no sign of chaos.

But the streets that used to be bustling were calm and silent except from the faint rustle of the wind.

Dario didn’t notice any sign of destruction, no smoke rising and no screams echoing through the air.

“It looks calm here,” Dario said with his brows furrowed and his eyes scanning his surroundings.

“Yes, Your Majesty,” General Marcus said, his brows also knitted in a frown.

Was the letter a prank??

“Or maybe the enemies had attacked and are not in the city at the moment. But, it doesn’t look like a battle happened here and where is everyone?” General Cassius said.

However, as the car advanced deeper into the city, the subtle evidence of conflict began to emerge. There was scattered debris littered in the road, and marks marred the walls of the buildings.
