Chapter 36

Before Dario was an overwhelming sight. Thousands of soldiers in an orderly formation, separated and arranged into groups of hundreds. They were all dressed in their neatly pressed uniforms in the empire’s color; Red, which had an insignia representing their rank.

They stood at attention, a disciplined and zealous force, as they awaited Dario’s command.

As the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the training grounds, Dario stood at the edge of a vast field, with the insignia of the Persian empire adorned boldly on the towering banners positioned by the sides of the field.

It was Dario’s first time meeting the imperial army of the empire as it was high time he paid attention to the affairs of the empire now. The empire was not going to rule itself.

The air was thick with anticipation and the faint murmur of whispered conversation among the soldiers with their eyes fixed on Dario, their new emperor, who was about to address them for the first time.
