Chapter nineteen

Gerald’s hands slowly clenched into a fist. As the seconds passed, the tips of his fingers bore deeper into his palms. He looked down trying to fight the urge not to lash out.

A voice in Gerald’s head began, “Did you really think this young man was Lord Reynolds’ son? Even after looking at him? How could you have been that dense?”

The voice continued, “He’s probably one of his servants that stole his credit card and decided to come and quickly lavish the money on expensive items. I’m sure the latter asked the bank to block the card when he realized it was missing or why else wouldn’t it be working?”

“I thought you were smarter than this.”

As the voice kept speaking, Gerald’s anger kept multiplying. He was biting his lips so hard that his teeth almost delved into them.
