Ch 2: Golden Ray Of Light

Due to the lack of money, Cyrus was unable to send his mother to the hospital and today, his mother died.

Before taking her last breath, she told Cyrus: "My son, continue living and become strong, strong enough to never be bullied by anyone. Remember, if you don't have strength, then you are nothing but garbage in this world whom, anyone would throw out. If you are powerful, even those people sitting on top of our world will come licking your boots. So, don't give up just because you haven't awakened any ability. Try harder and become strong. I believe in you, so you must believe in yourself too. You must become stronger!"

Cyrus and his mother were abandoned by his father and taking advantage of this opportunity, the first wife of his father made his and his mother's life very difficult.

Cyrus did not know the reason why his father abandoned him and his mother, and lastly also his sister, but now, it was no longer important.

The most important person to Cyrus was no longer there.

His mother died, and he knew that the first wife of his father was related to his mother's death in some ways. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the evidence to prove this.

Even if he had the evidence, he would not be able to do anything to her, as she was the so-called 'dear wife' of his father while his mother was only an abandoned person.

His sister, Alice Cyrus, was also not present at the funeral of their mother.

After the funeral, Cyrus decided to leave Star City and go to Skyler City to meet his sister and inform her about their mother's passing.

He spent an entire day and night at his mother's grave, mourning in silence. The following afternoon, he returned home, gathered a few essentials, and quietly left Star City without notifying anyone of his departure.

"Mom, watch me from the land of the deceased. No matter how hard I have to work, there will be a day when I will become strong and return. After my return, I will trample everything here underneath my foot."

Cyrus took deep breaths and swore in his heart before leaving Star City with many emotions carved deep down his heart.

Earth has gone through a huge transformation in the past thousands of years.

This is the year 3050, and Earth has long since entered the cultivation era. Earth's terrain has changed a lot as well.

Now, there are no countries like India, China, America, etc. The countries have different names.

Although Earth has changed a lot and entered the era of cultivation, it does not mean Earth has abandoned science.

Science is still an important part of humans' life on Earth.

In the last thousands of years, science has developed to a certain degree, bringing human lives to a new height and making it easy and comfortable.

Still, humans were unable to develop a means of space transformation so that they could find another Life Planet.

There are nine levels of Third-tier Star Warrior, from Level 1 to Level 9. Beyond Level 9 Third-tier Star Warrior is Second-tier Star Warrior and following this is First-tier Star Warrior. Similarly, these two tiers of Star Warrior are also divided into nine levels.

As for what is above First-tier Star Warrior, Cyrus has no idea.

But Cyrus knew that his father had already surpassed First-tier Star Warrior and had stepped into a new cultivation realm.

Cyrus wasn't able to become a Star Warrior because he failed to awaken an ability. Only an ability awakener could become a Star Warrior, this is an unwritten rule of the World that even a two-year-old kid knows.

Cyrus went north. His tiny figure gradually disappeared into the distance as the strong midday sunlight shone on him.

There were wide roads going in different directions. Cyrus continued to run forward, his eyes gradually turning redder and redder.

The unwilling expression that his mother had when she passed away subconsciously appeared in Cyrus's mind, causing him to tightly clench his teeth.

Besides a set of clean clothes, Cyrus had also brought some dry rations in his bag, as well as some money that his mother had obtained through hard work. But this amount of money was not enough for him to ride a taxi to Skyler City. The Cyrus Mansion was located in the north-central region of Star City, and the road that Cyrus chose to walk on led to the Great Star Forest that bordered the northern area of Star City and Skyler City. Various types of beasts lived within the Great Star Forest. Furthermore, there was no lack of powerful beings inside the forest.

This Great Star Forest alone was spread to more than five hundred kilometers. Skyler City was located on the other side of the Great Star Forest. If Cyrus wants to go to Skyler City, he has to first cross the Great Star Forest.

If anyone else knew that Cyrus had dared to enter the Great Star Forest by himself, without someone powerful accompanying him, they would definitely be stunned and speechless. They would have thought Cyrus must be overestimating his own capabilities. Since he didn't have any ability or strength at all, he might not even be able to walk out alive of the Great Star Forest!

Cyrus gazed far into the distance as he walked forward, supported by this resolute conviction. When he was thirsty, he would look for some spring water to drink; when he was hungry, he would eat some of the rough biscuits that he'd brought along with him. He did nothing other than hurry forward on his journey.

Cyrus wanted to reach Skyler City as soon as possible, look for his sister, and tell her everything. Then both brother and sister will cultivate together and become strong. Years later, when his strength would reach the point where he could challenge his father, he would return to Star City and take revenge for his mother.

While Cyrus was walking, still deep in thought, the sky suddenly rumbled with a deafening sound, causing Cyrus to snap out of the state of deep thought. He looked upward, only to see a golden ray of light shooting straight at him as if wanted to pierce into his body.

Before Cyrus could take any step, the golden ray of light directly landed on his head and Cyrus fell to the ground. His body slowly disintegrated into countless particles of golden light and vanished.
