George stood there looking at Fin's lifeless eyes, horrified at what had just happened, before he heard a scream behind him, "Maggot! There is no time to stare at the dead, or you might be one yourself! Get your head in the game, son!" The sergeant shouted as he punched George in the back.
George looked away from the dead body and turned his attention to the sergeant, "Yes, sergeant!" He shouted before he started running towards a goblin to shoot it down.
"Gahh!!" The goblins screamed as their bodies were being demolished by the bullets piercing their skin.
After killing the first goblin, more goblins started pouring from downtown, holding clubs and metal pipes.
But they were all blasted with a flurry of machine gun attacks and dealt with in true American fashion.
"Just a bit more! We must show those monsters that we are in control!" The sergeant shouted.
The soldiers looked at the sergeant with their spirits restored before a sword pierced through him, "Ah!" He shouted as he looked at his stomach, where he saw the sword that pierced him.
He pulled out a grenade and screamed, "I am not dying on my own, you monsters!" He yelled as he extracted all of the rings from the grenade, exploding himself and his surroundings.
"Ah!" A humanoid-shaped creature shouted as its skin burned and flesh was torn from the explosion. The sword from his hand fell as he took out a bottle and poured it on him, healing him.
The soldiers didn't know how to react, as what they were currently seeing didn't look like a monster but a human. "Am I dreaming? Because that definitely looks like a human." One of the soldiers said.
But George wasn't having any of it and shouted, "Does that matter? This son of a b*tch killed the sergeant!" He shouted before shooting at the mysterious human.
The other soldiers then realized that their enemy must be destroyed, it didn't matter if they were humans or monsters, and they followed George to shoot the unidentified human.
Upon getting shot, the mysterious human pulled out a shield with a cross and pulled out a golden sword, saying, "The goddess Alia is with me! And the heathens will pay for their crimes against you! And I, the divine knight, shall kill all the heathen in thy name!" He shouted before he started charging and slicing soldiers one by one. No matter how many bullets the soldiers tried shooting at him, this mysterious figure got through without dying.
Seeing that this almost invincible being was walking towards him and getting closer, Geoge backed away and started running while looking back to see if the soldiers could even slow the knight down, but it seemed that they were all dying.
"That's it. It doesn't matter if I die or not! I will send you and your so-called goddess Alia to hell!" He shouted as he started shooting at the so-called divine knight.
And this time, he realized that the shield that the knight was carrying was starting to shatter, and the more he shot in the knight's way, no matter where on the knight he shot, the shield would take the damage.
He continued running away while throwing grenades at the knight until...
Crack!
The shield shattered utterly, and George continued shooting; it looked like it was getting through the knight's skin and even managed to slow him down. "Die! Die!" He shouted as he reloaded and continued shooting.
The knight's eyes widened, and he jumped so high into the sky that George lost sight of him, "Where are you, you monster?" He shouted before he heard a thud behind him.
"I'm here." The knight spoke before George turned and continued shooting.
The knight then sliced through George's whole bulletproof armour, causing him to jump back in a fright; as he looked at how close the sword nearly sliced him, he looked at the knight with his face reddened in anger and took his grenade pack and removed the ring on all of the grenades and threw it at the knight—Destroying the knight in front of him.
But since the knight was right in front of him when the grenade he threw exploded, a significant amount of damage was also dealt to him, and as he looked at his torso, he could even see his organs visible, "Ah, damn it. I knew this day would have come..." He said this as he gazed into the sky, and blood flowed from his organs.
He could even taste the knight's blood, and he exploded on his face, "Well at least I killed that monster." He said before he closed his eyes.
"Wake up, you lazy bastards!" A sergeant in a hat shouted at the top of his lungs before taking out a trumpet from his bag and playing a high note.
George opened his eyes and jumped out of bed in fright. He looked in the middle of the room to see the sergeant that died in front of him shouting as he usually did, "What the heck is going on..." He reflected as he looked around the room, feeling a strong sense of déjà vu.
He took out his watch and saw that it was the day that they were sent to New York to fight against the monsters. "Yeah... 5th October..." He said as he stood up straight and looked at the rest of the crew, whom he had witnessed death on the battlefield.
Suddenly, a blueish hologram appeared above their heads.
On top of the sergeant's head was the number 5, while the rest of the privates were either 1 or 2.
George tried blinking to see if something was wrong with his eyes, but no matter how hard he tried, the hologram was still there.
The sergeant looked at George, who was looking everywhere, "Private George, what is my opinion on daydreaming?" The sergeant asked as he walked closer to George.
George then gulped and realized what was going on, 'I have gone back in time...' He thought.
He couldn't calm himself down as he looked at his surroundings, the other soldiers who were getting ready by preparing their weapons and putting on their armour. And George looking at Fin beside him was weird; he saw George die before him and even saw his flesh torn apart. "Hey George, you should stop daydreaming all the time man. It's getting pretty tiring hearing the Sergeant shout all the time." Fin said as he was putting on his bulletproof armour.George didn't respond and kept staring at Fin. Just looking at him made George remember the smell of flesh and blood. As he looked at everything he was supposed to prepare, he realized that his hands had already prepared ever
As the sergeant turned and looked behind him, a sword pierced his liver, "Ahhh!" He screamed as he pulled the grenade pack from his chest. "Die, you son of a b*tch!" He shouted as he pulled out the rings from the grenade and threw it at the knight.Boom! The body of the sergeant exploded with smoke covering the knight, and as it settled, the soldiers were terrified to see whose face and body were badly damaged by the explosion but were still standing strong."What the hell... The zombie..." George muttered blasting at the knight. "What are you waiting for!? This monstrous bastard killed the sergeant! Kill him!". The knight pulled out his shield and blocked the bullets coming his way."Private George! Who are you to command us?! You are just a private, like the rest of you scum
Another person entered the room. He wore a white suit with a gold tie and had smooth gold hair. "Corporal George, this is C rank hunter Lu Bu." George stared at Lu Bu with sharp eyes as he was not fond of Hunters.Hunters are given powers from an unknown entity and are ranked by their power. But that didn't cause him to think lowly of them. It was because most of them would only take on tasks that would be profitable. Meanwhile, the soldiers given no power would have to fight against the monsters."Corporal George, as the Major said, I am a C rank hunter, I came here to check if you have awakened as a hunter." Lu Bu said. George raised his eyebrows, 'Could me seeing the numbers above everyone's head be related to this?' Before staring back at Lu Bu, he thought, "What makes you
As George entered the truck, he smiled. "Ah, finally. No more hard rock seats." He said while sitting comfortably on the cushioned seat next to the Major."I bought this baby. The M35 series. They used to call this the Eagle Beaver. Don't know why they changed the name, but I liked it. Served me in Iraq, and I will never forget its service." Major Ivan spoke as he rubbed his hands against the steering wheel before inserting the key.George looked at the meters behind the steering wheel and wondered how old this truck could be, "Well this truck is nice and all, but it seems pretty ancient." He commented. When the Major heard that, he looked at George and said, "You bastards are spoilt. With your hologramic meters and your auto-driven cars or whatnot ." He complained before noticing something strange.___After a few minutes of driving, Major Ivan slowed down..."What the hell..." As he looked at the surroundings, the Major said, "Corporal, are you seeing this?" He asked."Pretty strang
George was still looking from afar and could see Lu Bu using the binoculars, but it didn't look like Lu Bu was disturbed by the situation, nor did he show any guilt; he was looking at his watch and waiting for it to end. "So that guy doesn't care huh?" George said as he looked through the sniper scope and aimed at his head. He touched the trigger and felt his heart burning, 'Why the heck would he want me dead?' Before moving his finger away from the trigger, he thought that shooting Lu Bu wouldn't be the intelligent thing to do.He then turned his attention to the gravity manipulation hunter, using nothing but a revolver to shoot from afar, Bang! And the gravity manipulation hunter fell to the ground, lifeless. But before he could aim at the others, he could see the rest of them running to take cover, "Shit." He muttered as he struggled to aim at the moving targets. He was a good
Lu Bu froze up as he thought of how George could do it, "Uhm, corporal, could this be your power?" He asked."No. I am not a hunter. I just have ways. Now, are you gonna test me or what?" George asked seemingly angry and impatient."Yes, corporal." Lu Bu replied while nodding his head.George quickly snatched the stone tablet and waited for ten seconds exactly before throwing it back to Lu Bu, "See? I am not a hunter." He said sounding a little bit angry.Lu Bu, seeing that George was getting angry at him stepped towards the door before looking back at him again, "Can I test you manually?" He asked while looking slightly worried about the situation.George then extended his arm, "Fine, do what you will."Lu Bu nodded and walked closer to George and as he touched his hands, he closed his eyes before sighing, "Sorry for wasting your time corporal." He uttered with a disappointed tone before turning to Major Ivan, "Major, I will excuse myself." He added before walking out of the ro
In front of the greens of the forest, the truck sped up and drove through the branches. "Corporal, have you set things the way how I told you to?" Major Ivan Sharp asked.George nodded, "Yes sir. This is the button." He said while handing a controller that had a red button in the middle of it to the Major."Good..." The Major said while hitting the brakes before almost crashing into a spruce tree. "Now! Get out!" He continued while he and George ran out of the truck.Shortly after, Rolls-Royce stopped their car as they saw the truck in front of the tree while the other two military trucks parked behind Royce. "Damn it! Why the heck did they come here." Lu Bu shouted while he stormed out of the car while taking out his tie and throwing it in the car, "And he is not gonna like scratches on the car. I'm practically dead..." He continued as he looked at the pitiful state of the car.The 9 hunters walked out of the cars with weapons in their hands, "The target knows that we are coming. It
"Hold on... I think I know who they are now... The All Russian Mercenaries. They are one of the best mercenaries out there." Major Ivan Sharp said."The best? I thought they were C-rank hunters?" George asked, confused about the hierarchy of ranks."Hunter ranks aren't that important in this case. Before they were all awakened, they were already elite soldiers from the Spetsnaz and Russian armies. The hunter abilities are just the icing on the cake." Major Ivan replied while gulping and wiping off his sweat."Special forces... But we still have a chance to win right?" George asked.Major Ivan nodded, "Maybe... But we have to be patient. Our biggest threat is the Eagle twins... They are the best snipers in Russia, maybe in the world as partners. Which means... We will have to go now!" He whispered while running towards where the Russians at with George following him from behind. They slowly ran and every time they could, they would hide behind the trees to avoid being seen by the Russi
