He couldn't calm himself down as he looked at his surroundings, the other soldiers who were getting ready by preparing their weapons and putting on their armour.
And George looking at Fin beside him was weird; he saw George die before him and even saw his flesh torn apart.
"Hey George, you should stop daydreaming all the time man. It's getting pretty tiring hearing the Sergeant shout all the time." Fin said as he was putting on his bulletproof armour.
George didn't respond and kept staring at Fin. Just looking at him made George remember the smell of flesh and blood.
As he looked at everything he was supposed to prepare, he realized that his hands had already prepared everything automatically. 'What the heck? Could this be muscle memory? No it can't be...' He thought as Sergeant Desmond shouted behind them.
"Pick up the pace maggots! The monsters waits for no one! And it is our responsibility that we kill those dirty bastards before they get everyone else!" The Sergeant said, with all of his equipment and bag ready.
"Crap, Sergeant Desmond is already ready?" Private Fin asked.
"Yeah, you should train yourself to move faster." George said as he stood up and packed up extra ammunition in his bag as he knew that the war wasn't going to go their way.
___
Private Fin fiddled with his fingers looking visibly concerned, "Do you think we will die?" He asked.
George had heard this question in his previous life, and last time, he told Fin to shut up, but this time, he felt a need to talk. "Actually Fin, I think we are gonna die. All of us. The good, the bad, all of the monsters would kill us, and guess what? They win." George said as they took out a Glock 17 gun and checked it to see if it had ammunition.
Fin's face looked jelly after hearing what George said; he looked scared, as if he was about to break down, "You know, uhm, I was a part of the CIA. I have also done a lot of things at my time there, brushed with a lot of bad guys, but I managed pretty well. But for some reason, I am more scared now than ever." He said.
George looked at his face and shivered, "I will try, not to die." He said.
Fin looked at his face and nodded, "Same here."
The Sergeant then stood up and pushed a button that lowered one of the floors, opening an ample space for them to jump out from, "We're here boys! New York! Now pack up your parachute!"
George heard this and got to his feet immediately, "Fin, get up." He said.
As Fin started putting his parachute on him, George took it away and checked it, "This parachute won't work." He said before walking to Sergeant Desmond.
As the Sergeant saw George walking up to him with a parachute, an eyebrow was raised, "Private, what's the matter?" He asked.
"Sergeant, this parachute will not work, I request for a replacement." George said as he handed the Sergeant the parachute.
"Huh, it seems that you are right private. A broken clock can be right sometimes." Sergeant Desmond said as he checked the parachute before walking to one of the boxes, taking another parachute out of it, and handing it to George. "Good job soldier, you just saved someone today." He added before patting George's back.
"Thank you, sergeant." George said before walking back to Fin and handing the new parachute to him.
"You saved me... I could have died." Fin said as he put on his new parachute. He then wiped his watery eye and got to his position.
George looked down, saw New York from above, and turned to Fin, "Make sure you stay near me." He shouted before jumping off the plane.
A minute after that, the plane exploded just as George remembered, "What the heck!!??" Fin shouted as he looked at the plane debris that was falling.
George, beside Fin, saw the debris and straightened his body to fall faster, "Fin!!! You've got to fall faster!!!" He shouted before Fin did just that.
And as he saw that he was near the ground, he pulled the parachute, activated it and started floating.
He took out his grenade and threw it below him, exploding the monsters and goblins waiting there.
As he dropped to the ground, he removed his parachute, took out his M4 and ran to Fin as fast as he could.
As he saw Fin blur out, George slapped his face, "Ow! What was that for?" Fin screamed as he touched the part of the face where George slapped him.
"Because of this you idiot!" George shouted as he blasted a wolf with bullets about to bite into Fin.
Fin jumped back, saw the wolf's remains and nodded, "Got it. I'm gonna focus." He said with his eyes open wide.
A goblin then ran towards George, who Fin then shot. "I got one!" He shouted with a smile.
As George saw the dead goblin lying on the floor with holes in its torso, he looked at the downtown, "There will be more." He said as he pointed his M4 before the place was pouring with goblins and other monsters.
He pressed his trigger and had to keep reloading as the number of goblins coming in was enormous.
Fin's hands were shaking, and he struggled to reload his weapon while George looked like he had been in a similar situation.
A spear came out of nowhere and pierced through Fin's neck, "Ah!!" He screamed before dropping dead on the roadside just beside a used tire.
"Crap!" George shouted as he saw Fin's body lying on the ground again.
He continued shooting down the goblins alongside the other soldiers and managed to kill them.
"Just a bit more! We must show those monsters that we are in control!" The Sergeant shouted.
As George heard this, he looked at the Sergeant and ran towards him, "Sergeant behind you!!!" He shouted.

As the sergeant turned and looked behind him, a sword pierced his liver, "Ahhh!" He screamed as he pulled the grenade pack from his chest. "Die, you son of a b*tch!" He shouted as he pulled out the rings from the grenade and threw it at the knight.Boom! The body of the sergeant exploded with smoke covering the knight, and as it settled, the soldiers were terrified to see whose face and body were badly damaged by the explosion but were still standing strong."What the hell... The zombie..." George muttered blasting at the knight. "What are you waiting for!? This monstrous bastard killed the sergeant! Kill him!". The knight pulled out his shield and blocked the bullets coming his way."Private George! Who are you to command us?! You are just a private, like the rest of you scum

Another person entered the room. He wore a white suit with a gold tie and had smooth gold hair. "Corporal George, this is C rank hunter Lu Bu." George stared at Lu Bu with sharp eyes as he was not fond of Hunters.Hunters are given powers from an unknown entity and are ranked by their power. But that didn't cause him to think lowly of them. It was because most of them would only take on tasks that would be profitable. Meanwhile, the soldiers given no power would have to fight against the monsters."Corporal George, as the Major said, I am a C rank hunter, I came here to check if you have awakened as a hunter." Lu Bu said. George raised his eyebrows, 'Could me seeing the numbers above everyone's head be related to this?' Before staring back at Lu Bu, he thought, "What makes you

As George entered the truck, he smiled. "Ah, finally. No more hard rock seats." He said while sitting comfortably on the cushioned seat next to the Major."I bought this baby. The M35 series. They used to call this the Eagle Beaver. Don't know why they changed the name, but I liked it. Served me in Iraq, and I will never forget its service." Major Ivan spoke as he rubbed his hands against the steering wheel before inserting the key.George looked at the meters behind the steering wheel and wondered how old this truck could be, "Well this truck is nice and all, but it seems pretty ancient." He commented. When the Major heard that, he looked at George and said, "You bastards are spoilt. With your hologramic meters and your auto-driven cars or whatnot ." He complained before noticing something strange.___After a few minutes of driving, Major Ivan slowed down..."What the hell..." George was still looking from afar and could see Lu Bu using the binoculars, but it didn't look like Lu Bu was disturbed by the situation, nor did he show any guilt; he was looking at his watch and waiting for it to end. "So that guy doesn't care huh?" George said as he looked through the sniper scope and aimed at his head. He touched the trigger and felt his heart burning, 'Why the heck would he want me dead?' Before moving his finger away from the trigger, he thought that shooting Lu Bu wouldn't be the intelligent thing to do.He then turned his attention to the gravity manipulation hunter, using nothing but a revolver to shoot from afar, Bang! And the gravity manipulation hunter fell to the ground, lifeless. But before he could aim at the others, he could see the rest of them running to take cover, "Shit." He muttered as he struggled to aim at the moving targets. He was a good

Lu Bu froze up as he thought of how George could do it, "Uhm, corporal, could this be your power?" He asked."No. I am not a hunter. I just have ways. Now, are you gonna test me or what?" Lu Bu replied while nodding his head.George quickly snatched the stone tablet and waited for ten seconds exactly before throwing it back to Lu Bu, "See? I am not a hunter." He said sounding a little bit angry.Lu Bu, seeing that George was getting angry at him stepped towards the door before looking back at him again, "Can I test you manually?" He asked while looking slightly worried about the situation.George then extended his arm, "Fine, do what you will."Lu Bu nodded and walked closer to George and as he touched his hands, he closed his eyes before sighing, "Sorry for wasting your time corporal." Major Ivan replied while gulping and wiping off his sweat."Special forces... But we still have a chance to win right?" George asked.Major Ivan nodded, "Maybe... But we have to be patient. Chapter 56: D.C Manoeuvre
The Ginjets flew over the vast sea while the soldiers were looking at their sea scanning radar to find any signs of strange movement that might hint at the movement of the submarine. "Any signs?" General Howard asked while pacing back and forth, his mind racing with possibilities of what Jordan might be planning. "Sir, we have contacted the National Reconnaissance Office. They will be checking for any visible signs of the enemy when they go on land, but for now, we don't have any." "Think! There must be some way to find them; if they are using a nuclear-powered submarine, then there must be a way that we can somehow find them through scanning nuclear energy nearby." "Sir, the whole base was filled with nuclear waste… We won't be able to find them… the nuclear waste has been spreaded out.” Howard punched the window, nearly breaking it, and could feel his heart beating with his stomach aching in anxiety; as he looked at his watch, he could see that it was 14:00. Chapter 55: Sea Base Part 2
“Sir, we are ready. We are waiting for your orders.” General Howard looked down upon the sea base, “They must be scared… None of them are outside….” “Perhaps they thought that we would be attacking them directly?” One of the strategists responded while looking at the base using her binoculars before seeing a figure in one of the doors. “I see someone peeking at us… It seems that they really think that we will be going for a direct attack.” “Well, that’s for the best then. Destroy them.” He ordered just loud enough for all of them to hear. As the soldiers prepared to drop the heavy explosives on the sea base, the strategist could see the figure that was peeking at them from the sea base, entering and hiding back at the sea base. That figure to be exact, was Major Ivan. “Ivan, so what’s the condition outside?” “Not good. They are going to blow this place up. We should leave right now. We might have only 2 minutes max.” General Jordan sighed in relief as the both of them continued

Chapter 54: Sea Base
"Where are they!?" The former Colonel, now turned Four Star General Howard screamed at the soldiers. "Satellites indicate they are in the Sea Base, Sir!" "Sea Base?" The Colonel paused before his phone rang. "General Howard?" Another General, who had more badges on his chest, walked towards him as he tried talking. "Wait." Howard pulled out his phone before answering it. His whole stature and persona that fit a strong and harsh leader had changed to a more respectful one, "Yes, sir?" He answered in a very polite tone, a vast difference from the one that he used not long ago. Everyone there stood quiet; they knew who General Howard was talking to. In fact, the news broke out that some unknown entity within the UN had promoted Howard for some unknown reason. And the other 37 Generals who had a position similar to the one he recently had all been demoted to Lower 4 Star General to increase the status and the authority that Howard received. But this information had been made priva

Chapter 53: Flying Part 2
The pilot pulled back on his controls, ascending the plane to its maximum altitude. "Come on!" the pilot shouted, straining to align the plane directly above the sky. The metal covering the aircraft shook intensely, compressed by the high-speed flight. Seated in the co-pilot's chair, the Major was covered in the blood of the deceased co-pilot, his seatbelt securely fastened. The g-force pulled everyone's skin back, giving them the appearance of aging by four decades. Some even fainted due to the force. The pilot glanced at the fuel gauge, anticipating the low fuel level. With the slow leakage and the maneuvers performed, it was no surprise that their fuel was running low so early. Turning to his left, the pilot checked on the condition of the Major. The Major held onto his seatbelt tightly, struggling to communicate with the pilot through distorted mouth movements, saying, "Wha... ah ... we... asen?" "What?" the pilot asked, attempting to decipher the Major's message. But befor

"We're here, General." The pilot announced as he saw the land where they were set their base again. The sleek military planes descended gracefully, their wings slicing through the air as they touched down upon the rugged expanse of the Texas land base. The pilots then manoeuvred their aircraft, bringing them to a halt, As the dust settled and the engines powered down, the pilot looked towards his co-pilot before seeing a glim of light right behind his head. Before the window behind his co-pilot shattered, a bullet shot through his head, causing his whole body to turn lifeless and drop to the ground. The pilot quickly ducked before taking his microphone," Take cover. We are being attacked!!!" "Not here too?!" The General shouted as he peeked out of the window and could see soldiers hiding and blending into the environment; if it weren't for the light that was reflecting from their scope, he would have never known that they were there. The commissioner's hand trembled as he heard General Jordan's voice instead of General Damien's. "Sir... Where's General Damien?" Beep... General Jordan abruptly ended the call, leaving the commissioner dumbfounded. He slumped into his chair, scanning the room in search of answers. It was inconceivable that General Jordan's army could have defeated the soldiers under the command of the highly esteemed 5th Star General. They weren't even prepared for a fight. "What the hell happened...?" He glanced at the phone directory once more, searching for another number. He dialled the guard's phone, which he had borrowed. "Colonel Howard... I think General Damien might be dead." The Colonel froze, disbelief etched on his face as he looked at the commissioner, shrouded in darkness. He whispered into the phone, "Is that really you, Commissioner?" "Yeah, it's me. My damn phone broke, so I'm using this one for now. But listen, there's a good chance General Damien is dead." Astentstein quickly retrieved a small smartphone from his pocket, only to find its screen shattered. "Damn it!" he exclaimed, hurling the phone to the ground as he rushed out of his room, ensuring that George and Ivan were nowhere in sight. "Sir, should we stop the Major and Corporal from leaving?" one of the guards asked, observing the Commissioner's panicked state. "Forget about them. Do you have a phone?" Astentstein inquired. The guard nodded, searching his pockets until he produced a small smartphone. He unlocked it and handed it to the Commissioner. Astentstein snatched the phone and swiftly navigated to the call application. Pulling out a small booklet from his back pocket, he located a number he had written down and dialed it. As he pressed the call button, he approached the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of General Jordan. George's eyes opened, his mind still throbbing from the overwhelming influx of information. He glanced at his watch, noting that it was only 6 o'clock. Just as he prepared to rise from his bed, a knock came at the door. "Major, I'm awake," George called out. The door swung open, revealing the figure of Major Ivan. "You recognized it was me; did you foresee it again?" he asked, a hint of exhaustion in his voice. George nodded, and the Major let out a sigh. "When will we have a day where we can simply survive without complications?" "I need you to convince the General to change his plan. Some things can't be fixed even with my ability," George implored. Major Ivan nodded in agreement. "Funny you should mention that. I was actually on my way to his office. Care to join me?" Chapter 48: Fight With Damien Part 3
George stood firmly in front of Damien, his body tense with anticipation. It was the second time he had experienced this day, and he knew exactly what moves Damien would execute. Yet, even armed with this knowledge, George couldn't shake the feeling of inferiority that washed over him. He still felt small, weak, and utterly unaware of the circumstances surrounding him. But George couldn't afford to dwell on these thoughts. Failure was not an option, for if he faltered now, he would be forced to relive the entire day using his time loop abilities. Fatigue weighed on George's mind, though it didn't manifest in his physical form. It was evident in his eyes, which carried the weariness of experiencing the same events twice over. With determination fueling his every move, George launched a punch towards Damien. Yet, just as he predicted, Damien effortlessly sidestepped the attack, evading it as he had done before. Undeterred by his missed punch, George unleashed a rapid series of strike
