Chapter 27

Arthur could not believe that he had lost. He did everything exactly the way he ought to so that he could win, unless they decided to disregard the rigging system. He argued and almost claimed that the man himself had cheated but there was no way that would not come back to bite him in the ass. He had no choice but to stand quietly as the man's guards patted him down for every dime on him.

“Here,” one of the guards stretched out a hundred dollar note to him. “So you can get home.”

Arthur looked around at the crowd that gathered around him. How could he, Arthur King, accept pity money from the guy who just ruined him. He couldn't stomach it so he walked out of the room.

He didn't stop until he was out in the clean air, away from the noise and the smells. He screamed and kicked a fire hydrant on the side of the road.
