It was already 8:00am, Melvin and his platoon were already at the intersection of Donald emporium waiting patiently for Jones' arrival. He wasn't there to strike the deal as proposed, but to gun down Jones and get Helena without handling over Holly Minard.
Joan walked to Melvin and said, “It's getting late, boss.”
“I know… But I'm not leaving here without taking down that wimp.” Melvin responded with so much serious in his voice.
With no gap in time, Two blue SUVs accompanied by a patrol car shoved in, in the opposite direction, but kept their distance.
“Get ready….” Melvin said via the spy microphone.
The cars, except for the patrol car, halted to a stop at the intersection of the emporium. The patrol car limped slowly to the side of the intersection. There were also two other black sedan cars coming from the left direction.
“We got two black sedan cars coming leftward,” one of the lackeys who was placed to spy on the surrounding said to Melvin via the microphone.
“What?!!” Melvin exclaimed and let out a phony chuckled.
Melvin looked around him, he had few men and no armored vehicle and if Jones strikes in any means, he will fall into Jones' booby-trap with just two black Jeeps that he came with.
“Keep an eye… How many foes?” Melvin asked, holding back swiftly for a reply.
“View obstructed Sir. Yes!!…" He stated.
“Got it… No foes, just the drivers. Oh… No, I think they are from the armed forces. Something like SWS is imprinted in the uniform.”
“Scott Walton Squad.” Melvin chuckled. It was a deplorable one that turned into a jocund but stilted giggle.
“Jones is pulling something, and we're taking it the other way around. So, take them down. Now!!” He ordered.
“But boss, we're few,” Joan said.
“I don't win with numbers. Take them down, now!!” He ordered, and an immediate explosion ripped into the two black sedan cars coming leftward. The driver in the patrol car slammed on the brakes as some armed uniform men scrambled out of the other two blue SUVs.
“It him!!!” Joan screamed as he pointed towards the driver of the patrol car that thrust out already.
“Scott Walton!” Melvin was still surprised despite seeing Scott's squad. He didn't expect him to be there? It was a personal traumatic experience they had two years back.
“Clear them off!” He ordered as the lackeys opened fire. He hoisted Holly Minard towards the car parked at a close distance from the scene.
Scott, who was in a crouch, leaped over to the side of his patrol car, using the front door as a stumbling block to avoid being hit by any of the drive-by bullets.
Another explosion came at one of the blue SUVs, when Melvin's lackeys opened a non-stopping fire unremittingly at the SUVs. They headlong at the patrol car and the other blue SUV as they step forward with a shot.
Scoot stood from his hidey, squeezing the trigger and unleashing rounds through three lackeys' chest from his two government model pistols. He stepped from the side of the car to the rear to take a proper cover before a grenade sped in front of him.
Quickly jerking back and opening fire at the man who threw the grenade, the grenade exploded against the patrol car, and he was knocked down.
“We need a backup, man down!!” One of the uniform men called. They were the military in disguise.
Scott had a boiling pain in his left upper arm and his left thigh. He rolled to his feet as the uniform men howled with an open firing, covering him.
Scott glanced towards the SUVs again and lifted one of his pistols as an insurgent shot one of his men. He put two round through him before limping towards the SUV.
“Where is agent Malik?” Scott asked with a loud voice. One of the uniform men gestured, pointing towards the exploded SUV.
“Agent Malik is down. Cover me!!” Scott said as he reached the middle of the exploded SUV. The car had been flipped over, he glimpsed in to see two uniform men and the closest was agent Malik. He pulled him out as he groaned and tilted further into the car for the other man. He grabbed and pulled.
Agent Malik was unconscious but breathing as he shifted him around and tossed him unto his shoulder and grabbed the other guy and pulled. He was carrying one and dragging the other as he scanned the streets with a pistol in one hand. The other uniform men shot earnestly just to cover him.
Scott's squad fired at two insurgents, covering Scott as he dragged Agent Malik and the other behind the other SUV. His squads were providing an impervious cover.
He dropped Agent Malik as he knelt, letting the other man slip off his shoulder.
He stood out this time around with a rifle. They had to make sure their cover wasn't busted until the backup squad arrived.
In a split minutes, two lightly armored vehicles emerged. It was pretty obvious that It was made of a bullet-resistance glass when Melvin's lackeys took ample of gun shot at it. The armored vehicle was heading straightforward towards Melvin and his lackeys, who seemed to be a little eroded with panic.
Scott and a few of his squad used the armored vehicle as a cover, and cut off the distance between them. Melvin was left with no option than to surrender, but that was the least of the things he will do among those thoughts rumbling in his head.
Melvin's lackeys stick their fire, shooting ballistically, but each and every one of them was gunned down by Scott's squad. Their gun shoot was almost completing cutting through them as they were in sequence.
The survivors from Melvin's squad started retracting their steps from the already crushed cover, which was the consummated mashed Jeep. Scott shot erratically at those that recanted from their hidey.
He spun towards Walter, who was running hastily to Melvin's car, where Holly Minard was held. Scott fired low to his thigh, quickly replaced the magazine and fired two bullets to the head of the other man from the rear of the cover trying to cover for Walter. He slammed bullets directly at Walter but missed as Joan quickly pulled him to the side of Melvin's car.
Joan pulled him into the car as they zoomed off. Scott squad shot gravely at the car. But all those multiples hits bounced off Melvin's Jeep Grand, even though most found their way in.
One of the lackeys in the front seat was returning fire so as to cover the driver. Scott ran so fast before standing to aim.
He zeroed all attention as he pulled the trigger. The bullet went through the passenger's window, hit the man in the front seat close to the driver and passed through the front window.
It was an incredibly shot, but it seems like the man to which the bullet passed through didn't feel anything. But the sound of the bullet entering and exiting the windows gave them the awareness that a bullet entered the car.
Within seconds, The man shot was soaked wet with blood. The bullet entered his right temporal region and came out of his right eye socket.
“Move… Don't stop moving.” Joan said, as he held unto Walter, who was bleeding heavily.
“Hang on man… Hang on!!” Joan urged him.
“Hey… This is Melvin, I need your help,” Melvin said, after the recipient picked up the call.
“What can I help you with?” Said the man with a little hoarse voice. It sounded via the cellphone.
“Walter is shot… I need your help, If I don't get him treated, I might lose him, It is critical… Please!" Melvin doesn't care if anyone is hurt, but he cared so much for Walter. And he couldn't let him die.
“I will be at quarter, provided I'm not being tracked this time around.” The man said, and a disconnecting tone followed.
Melvin was at his lowest point during the combat and this was a great break to take down Melvin once and for all, but Scott was thinking meticulously not to fall into Melvin's traps again.Scott was almost killed two years ago after the news about the unknown terrorist; Melvin Otani hogged the media for a very long time. Conspiracies towards Melvin's downfall were almost carried out before someone from the inside leaked information and that only didn't compromise the whole plan but centralized Scott as the major target by Melvin's squad and killers contracted by Melvin.Going against the government protocol and attacking Melvin almost got him killed, even though he nearly conquest. Melvin took to his kneels as usual, Scott chased him until Melvin had just one option left. Surrender or die.It was at that moment that everything was about to end before an abrupt covering fire was opened against Scott. Someone on the inside was definitely working with Melvin, and it was obvious when the
When Holly Minard woke up, the darkness in the room shadowed her. It wasn't the darkness that resulted in the discomfort, it was the effect of the backhand slap, which still felt like it happened a minute ago.Looking at her suit trousers, she saw that they were shimmering with a blue haze. She snatched her head up to see the security camera hung on the wall with a hook underneath the gap of sliding. As she stood up, propelling herself towards the direction of the blue haze, every light in the room was switched on in unison. She gasped and pressed her hands to her eyes, force tossing her backward. The enlightenment had totally swayed her head with stars and caused a loss in balance. She squinted at the glare, anticipating a door to be opened. With no gap in time, a door from behind opened.“Come on,” said a burly man whose eyes only were hazardous, unlike his lovely voice. Minard staggered forward with her eyes slowly adjusting to the light.“Sit…and eat,” the burly man said. She da
Joan regained his lost strength in a lickety-speed and rashly grabbed Holly Minard by her leg before she could pace towards the direction of the car. She quickly bumped him with her free left leg, but he reacted by clasping her left leg together with the other. He swerved her from her feet by dragging as he stood up swiftly. “Ahh…" Holly Minard grunt as she fell to the ground.“Don't…", Alan said, pointing a gun at him before Joan could attempt knocking her off.“Back off… Take three steps backward,” Joan did as he was instructed. Minard ran briskly towards Alan.“Get in and keep the car running.” Alan said to Holly Minard without turning to her. All gazed were fixed on Joan.“Don't move until I say so!” Alan yelled at Joan, who took a step backward. He couldn't risk running because the distance from his exact position and the L-shape wall of the building wasn't convincing for running.“Don't M-O-V-E !!!” Alan said with a hard-soft plea. Joan could have been able to recognize him if
It took just an hour drive from the quarter to the safe house, as Alan put it. It was actually a safe house designed for Ty and his men. Ty was a semi-professional boxer, who was so carefree and bossy in behavior, but that didn't change him when Jones contracted him. His loyalty preceded him, and Jones valued loyalty above all.“Come on… You don't give up, hit harder,” Ty urged the two boxers in the boxing ring.“Who do you suggest to be the winner?” Alan asked as he sat close to Ty.Ty pointed at the burly guy whose skin was almost blue with tattoos. “He's gonna win as usual.” The other guy sparring in the ring had a clean skin with a pigtail hair. The sound of leather smacking hard and the cheer-on from other guys echoing in the vast space that early morning woke Holly Minard up. She wasn't sleeping with so much comfort, so any little distraction was a full distraction.“Hello Minard,” Ty greeted when she walked towards the boxing ring.“How are feeling?” He asked.“Uhm… Not bad, j
Alan quickly took his cellphone and dialed Jones' number. It wasn't going through, and it had nothing to do with network coverage, but one couldn't tell if not told. Ty walked towards them and handed a card to Alan.“Take this… Use this number,” Ty said, and gave him a card that had a foreign number on it. Alan just nodded and took the card.Ring!!!!“GJ on the online, what's the emergency?” Jones answered. This was the emergency line provided only for emergency cases and this was nothing other than being an emergency case.“Hey Jones… It's me, and I'm with Holly Minard, and we were ---”“Everything is fine…???” Jones asked with a hushed voice. With Alan's skittishly breaths, he answered,“No… no, we are not fine, Melvin traced us to the safe house, We are under attack.”“How's Minard?” He asked, but Holly Minard didn't allow Alan to answer before she yanked the cellphone from him and said.“We're completely surrounded, Melvin's guys are here, and uhm… Everything is… I don't know what
The rasp of the metal door opened slowly on its hinges, followed by a squeaking produced by the metal bob swinging back and forth. The high-pitched sound of the swinging metal bob de-escalated as Melvin's guys steal in. When Alan got there, the metal door was already ripped off and smoke filled the air, with a non-stopping fire, making it difficult for Alan to see his target. It was a chaotic and dangerous situation, with bullets whizzing past and ricocheting off metal surfaces. There were lifeless bodies on the ground when visibility was restored. Alan, who was behind a pillar that connected to the entryway leading to the stairwell, came out with his pistol ready to pull the trigger, if necessary. He moved surreptitiously towards the boxing ring. Well, he was wondering why there was a sudden break in the gun shots. A slightly overweight guy lunged at Alan as he drew closer to the boxing ring, but he quickly darted to the left and unleashed a devastating punch to his chin with his e
TWO MONTH LATER….It was a sunny morning in the bustling city of Oakland in Atlanta, and the streets were as busy as ever. People were hurrying to their jobs, students were rushing to their schools, and the city was alive with the sounds of honking cars and chattering crowds.Jones met his gopher in a red sedan car, a ringer already fitted with false plates. “Everything is set," Daniel stated.“Okay… Look behind, that car,” he said, pointing towards a black jeep behind them. “Use it and initiate the next plan.” “Erm…Oh, yeah, the next plan… The next plan, uh…"“Leave… That's the next plan.” He said with all seriousness. “Hey papi... This might not go your way, and I really don't….” He didn't finish before Jones interrupted.“Hey hey… Knock if off, You don't have to worry about anything. Just do as I say. Alright?"“Yeah… Do as you say, not do as you do.” Daniel got out of the car, he wore a black hoodie with a large kangaroo pocket at the front and a tight-fitting headdress creati
Melody hurled herself into his arm. Despite the cuffs on his hands, he was able to anticipate the hug. He felt like airing everything out to her, but the thought of ruining things struck him, and the only thing he could think of that moment was the romantic replays he believed Gaston had with Melody.“Do you still love him… Gaston,” Jones whispered to her. She stalled a little and laggardly loose her firm clasped.“Jones… I know you don't have a violence blood. You're not Gaston, so why are you doing this??,” Jones knew she was trying to evade his question. So he asked again.“Do you still love Gaston?” Despite Jones anticipation, she didn't say a word.“I will take your silence for a yes.”“And.uhm… all of these... ...” He exhaled sharply and continued. “There's nothing you can do about it, but there is a help you can render. Find whoever is trying to bury Gaston”“There is no one trying to bury him, the evidence was real. He killed the attorney general.”“No… The evidence was cooke
