Just as confusion began to swirl among them, a massive Root burst forth from the ground, transforming itself into what could only be described as a face.

"How dare you all destroy my part of the forest, disturb my sleep, and kill my kin," the root spoke with an enraged tone.

A sense of urgency washed over Alec as he heard the warning from the system spirit golem, who had been quiet for a while.

"Alec, no matter what happens, you have to get out of here, I swear that thing is a dire threat, It's not even its main body, and yet it has the power to kill you countless times over."

Alec, slightly skeptical, replied,

"And what makes you think that? It's not like you can detect any Mana waves from it!"

Attempting to check the root's Mana waves, Alec realized to his shock that he was being blocked by an intangible mental shield.

He was unable to gather any information about the root at all.

This was perplexing because he recalled being able to read a peak Tier 4 Mage's Mana waves before.
