Chapter 18

After his deal with the bank, Jack quickly drove home in his Range Rover sports car to meet Blade.

Blade, who was at the bar of the house right beside the living room, was sipping his wine. He exhaled heavily as he became aware that Jack had come back unnoticed and was watching him. He noticed Jack was visibly angry.

Blade quickly nudged Jack to join in the drink, but even before he could say it, Jack’s gaze met his. They both reacted reflexively while he joined him on the couch.

“You don't seem to look well. Are you alright?” Blade asked, his face immersed in concern as he stretched his hand to check his body temperature.

Jack shrugged with a weak smile, knowing well that Blade may not agree with his thoughts. “Yeah, I'm good. I just didn't have a good sleep last night before I left for the bank this morning.”
