Chapter 60

“Welcome. How about the task I assigned you?” Jack questioned Blade, who had greeted him as he just stepped into the sitting room. He has been so curious and couldn't wait to know what the outcome of the inquiry he asked him to make was.

“Yeah, the wedding is real, likewise like its date and venue. It will be held in a week, just as stated in the paper,” Blade replied quickly, knowing his boss had a lot of interest in what he just probed.

Jack cupped his face in his hand. “So it’s real, and that's quite close.” He raised it again and then stood to walk close to the window side, where he always had a better view of the city. “I can't believe she agreed to marry that big-for-nothing fool that almost ruined my career.” On a clearer thought, he said, “They were on it together anyway.” He muttered to himself and then drew in a deep breath. “I want them to pay, but I don't know how. The wedding is so close that I feel so tense and frustrated.”
