Chapter 7

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Thank God I still managed to save Caroline.

"The one just now is hazardous; dragons tend never to listen to other creatures. They will only attack anyone who dares to disturb their peace," said Olivia.

"Is that true?" It looks like that too.

I swung my sword to send a slash to the rigid body; my attack only resulted in a small scratch until it finally sent me flying into a rock. On the other hand, Caroline created a rose plant on the dragon's foot and then exploded it nicely.

The dragon that received the damage roared in pain before finally replying to Caroline by flapping its wings to create a tornado that sent her flying into the air. When the dragon attention turned towards Caroline, I cut off the dragon's tail.

"It hurts; you cut my fucking tail."

"The dragon is talking," I shouted and continued.

"This dragon's voice is cute again."

"Insolent, feel this."

"Ugh." Being hit by a dragon is painful. Caroline got up while groaning in pain before clapping her hands.

"It turned out to be a female dragon, and I identified her wrong."

"Hey."

"You guys suddenly appeared and beat the fuck out of my ass; what did I do to you? My tail, my bloody tail," the dragon cried as it tried to tie its tails together.

"You're the one who attacked us first, not to mention your tail will grow back."

The dragon snorted at me. "Don't equate me with a gecko; how can my tail grow back? I attacked you because you wanted to take my bloody money."

This dragon likes money, even though Caroline has asked her nicely. I sheathed my sword again.

"Listen, dragon, and we want to use this money to rebuild the territory of the water country; moreover, it's not their money too," at my statement, she immediately turned her face away.

"I do not remember."

Damn, this dragon pretended to lose her memory. It was she who forced the whole country to give her money. Even if we stole everything, no one would blame us.

"How about now, Zack?"

"Well, dragon, how about you come with us as a group? If with us, you can earn your own money as an adventurer."

"No, I don't want to submit to humans."

Is this dragon a girl who is in a state of rebellion? Her cute voice didn't match her appearance.

"Well then, we'll still take this money, or maybe you'll be happy if you fight again.... my sword would love to cut your tail off."

"You bloody monster, I will accept your offer; I don't know what my ancestors will say later."

"You mean this ancestor of yours?" I will show you the animal I caught here.

"That's a lizard, and you make me angry."

"Let me reconnect your tail, and Caroline will take care of the money."

"All right."

I used water magic to reconnect the tail while Caroline started to put all the gold into her storage magic.

"You are a cute dragon, and your voice doesn't sound scary."

"Fuck off, that's why I don't like to talk."

"But if you were in human form, you would sound better."

"Human, I've never tried it, though."

I finished reconnecting it.

"How?"

"My tail is back... then I'll make myself in human form."

Caroline and I just watched from the side as the light engulfed the dragon's entire body; the light began to dim, and after completely disappearing, the figure of a girl stood there. She wore a frilly dress and a doll headband which were both pink, while her hair was hip-length blonde with slightly wavy.

"I don't know why my image of her appearance is very different," said Caroline.

"You want to protest."

The dragon was scary and cruel but in front of us was just like a childish cute girl.

I asked her, "What is your name?"

"Cecilia."

***

Elena looked surprised when I gave her such a large amount of money, her eyes glaring at me with Caroline's in turns before looking at the girl behind me.

Of course, she is not an ordinary girl; she is a black dragon that many people fear. In order not to cause a stir, I hid her identity and said she was just a new member of my party.

"I will put this money to good use," Elena, the princess of this water country, could only say so.

I continued, "It will be difficult if we don't have an instructor in fighting. Do you have any acquaintances?"

"One commander resigned for unknown reasons; maybe only he can do it."

"Then give me the address, and I'll bring him back here."

"But it might be difficult."

"At least we want to try it."

This area should be able to stand independently without us; however, I don't think I'll stay here forever.

***

Based on the direction of the princess, we arrived at a large field filled with only lavender flowers; behind it, there was a small house where a cloud of smoke came out of the chimney.

A big man was playing with his daughter and looking very happy, and he must be the person the princess was referring to, for his wife seemed to be cooking in the kitchen.

Caroline, standing beside me, said without lowering her umbrella, "I think I know why he decided to retire from the kingdom, and I'm sure he will refuse to help."

"I guess so," added Cecilia.

"Let's go back and let them live in peace here."

We finally decided to go and rest in the forest not far away, Cecilia stretching her muscles while Caroline kissed the wildflowers under her feet. As for Olivia, she relaxed in her sword form without doing anything, just humming cheerfully.

I thought about many things. Without someone to teach those people, it would ruin the future of this water territory. I'm a beginner; I obviously can't teach them anything; just then, Cecilia turned around while sniffing.

"Any burning smell?"

I looked around and saw a cloud of black smoke rising. "It came from that house."

Without saying anything else, I brought Olivia's sword to run towards it; Caroline and Cecilia followed behind and saw a bunch of demon beasts had attacked the house.

The big man and his daughter lay covered in blood while his wife slew the demon blindly; the sword slashed their heads, spewed out their entire heads, and spilt out along with their blood and organs being torn apart.

I could see her blonde hair fluttering with bloodstains stuck to her cheeks. Without our help, she wiped out all these demons; it's just that. She burst into tears afterwards, and I hastily checked on the two of them.

Caroline put her arm around the woman's shoulder to calm herself down while Cecilia ate the demon into her mouth.

"Your husband is dead, but your daughter can still be saved."

"Is that true?"

I stretched out my hand; from there, water appeared in my palm and wrapped the little girl's body in a water ball. I seem to have misunderstood something; the commander Elena was referring to was not this man but his wife; I had asked Elena her name; unfortunately, she forgot.

The little girl's wounds gradually healed, and then she regained them, breaking consciousness and the water covering her.

"Mama."

"My daughter."

"Father."

"Say no more."

We're just waiting for things to calm down a bit.

"Thanks for the food," Cecilia said behind me.

I don't want to see her munching on this demon's flesh, or I'll end up like Caroline, who's been vomiting ever since.

"Hey Zack?" said Olivia in her sword form.

"I know, I'll take care of it... you two stay here waiting."

"All right."

I ran at high speed. Even though I just came to this world, it feels like now I can kill anyone, especially all the demons I will slay.
