A New Agreement

These are the new terms of the contract that the two agreed upon. The first is that Asther isn’t allowed to lie to Claire. Whatever she asks, Asther needs to answer her truthfully. This doesn’t seem like such a good thing for Asther at first but, that isn’t entirely true.

Since the contract needs to be balanced between the two parties, Asther can require something from Claire that is of equal value – this being the second clause to the contract.

Asther is allowed to do as he wishes. Claire can still order him of course but, this should not be in the detriment of Asther’s own goals.

Asther needs something like this because it won’t be good if he’s restricted. It’s not like he can’t stand working under someone. In fact, he has worked under the underground organization of earth all his life. But if there’s one thing that he knows, it’s that movement is easier to read when a person is following a certain set of rules.

Restrictions create patterns. Ones which enemies can exploit to attack
