CHAPTER ONE

“You’re hurting me; please stop,” Gerald pleaded with Steven while trying to adjust his medicated eyeglasses, which wanted to fall due to how Steven and his friends kept pushing him.

“Where would be the fun in that?” Steven asked and laughed with his friends.

“Where is the money Steven asked you to bring today huh?” One of Steven’s friends asked Gerald.

“I can't ask my parents for that kind of huge amount of money. They would question me and even end up not giving me,” Gerald answered and received a punch on his stomach from Steven, making Gerald yell in pain.

Yes, it’s exactly what you are thinking. Gerald was being bullied at school by Steven and his friends.

Gerald Halloway, despite being from a wealthy family and an only child, was a laughingstock at school and was always being bullied.

But he never for once told his parents about it due to his fears that it would make situations worse for him because those bullying him had wealthy parents too.

He was called Piggy because of his rounded belly that protruded over his belt. He had a big nose, was fat, was pale, had pock-marked skin and a crooked nose, and was short.

“There is something called stealing. Stupid. By tomorrow I want to see the $2,000 I asked you for,” Steven said with a menacing look on his face, and Gerald nodded vigorously in fear.

“Gerald! Gerald! Come forth; your destiny awaits you! We need you now,” Gerald heard a female voice say to him out of nowhere, and there was no female amongst them.

He raised his head and checked if any female had joined them there, but there was none when he did. He got slapped for looking at them in the face, so he lowered his head again.

He heard the voice again, making his brows crease.

“Did you guys hear that? A female voice.” He asked just to be sure, but Steven and his friends laughed at him.

“He’s becoming delusional. But I love this necklace he is wearing. It might cost a lot if we trade it at the pawn shop,” one of Steven’s friends said and tried to remove the necklace from Gerald.

For the first time, Gerald tried to stand up to them. He had that necklace since birth and didn't want to lose it.

While struggling with Steven's friends, he lost his balance and began to fall to the ground.

But none of Steven’s friends tried to catch him. Again, he heard the female voice saying the same words.

While he was falling to the ground, a round portal appeared on the floor, making his eyes widen in shock. No one else could see the portal aside from him.

The portal was circular; it had something like clouds and smoke surrounding it. In between the circle the portal created, blue lights that could virtually blind any human eye appeared, and he immediately began to hear someone calling him in a whisper, but how he could hear it was a mystery to him.

“Gerald! Gerald! Come forth; your destiny awaits you! We need you now.” The female voice Gerald heard earlier kept saying to him.

He pleaded with Steven and his friend to please stop him from falling because he didn't fall into the portal, but they ignored him and began walking away.

When he fell into the portal, it seemed to him as though he was falling through space, and then after a while, he began to fall so fast that he feared he might die as his screams echoed around him. He continued screaming with closed eyes till he landed on the ground close to the sea.

After he was sure he landed on the ground, thinking that he may just have fallen on the ground at school, he was shocked to see an entirely different and strange environment when he stood up.

He could see the sea, and in the opposite direction was a forest, but strangely he could sight a town at the end of the forest.

“Where Am I?” He mumbled still in a state of shock and tried to dust the sand and dirt on his uniform away, but when he bent down to do so, he was staring directly at the water; therefore, he saw his reflection in the water and screamed due to shock.

The version of himself that he saw on the water was the direct opposite of what he used to be.

He now had blonde hair, forest-green eyes, a finely chiseled face and jawline, muscles, and arbs that he could spot even though he was putting on his uniform, and most of all, he was now tall.

He was the true definition of handsomeness.

“I look handsome.” He said it aloud with his face scrunched up with surprise as he clutched his face and then his body while looking at the water.

He was baffled at his sudden transformation.

“This is unbelievable; am I dreaming?” He mumbled and turned to take in his current environment. It was all strange and fascinating to him.

First, he was being bullied at school, and now he was in another environment, looking very different from how he used to be.

He began to hear the rattling of bushes and the snapping sound of sticks as though someone was stepping on them.

After some seconds, a girl whose hair was very long and as white as snow, with a perfectly shaped oval face, striking blue eyes, and a perfectly shaped body, began running towards him.

“She is beautiful,” he whispered in awe.

He watched as she ran towards him with clothes in her hands. She wore a long floral dress that had puffed hands and a corset that was interlaced in between her two breasts and boots with short heels. She was indeed an epitome of beauty.

If he wasn’t mistaken, this was how those who existed in the olden days dressed; does this mean the portal took him to the time of the olden days? He thought to himself.

“Good, you are here. Mother said I should give you these to wear. Be fast so that no one may spot us here. The magic of summoning is forbidden here, so it's not good if anyone sees you here like this,“ the young lady said as she stared into Gerald's eyes. It was clear she was checking Gerald out.

“And you are?” Gerald asked her, giving her a questioning look. She just smiled as she looked at Gerald, and this made her dimples become pronounced.

“I am Gwendolyn of Grafburg, and I know your earth name is Gerald Halloway. You look a lot different and more handsome than when I normally see you whenever Mother sends me to come check on you in your world. I remember vividly that you had brown eyes, but now that you are here, it's green. I guess your true self suits you more,” Gwendolyn answered and smirked.

Gerald opened his mouth to say something, but Gwendolyn interrupted him.

“I know you have a lot of questions, but let's save that for when we get home. Mother will answer them all, for she is the one who summoned you,” Gwendolyn said to Gerald, who just stood there dumbfounded and utterly confused.

All of a sudden, a heavy breeze began to blow, and Gwendolyn immediately grabbed Gerald’s hands, and together they ran into the forest Gwendolyn came out of.

“What’s going…..” Gerald wanted to continue with what he wanted to say, but Gwendolyn used her free hands to cover his mouth while they ran.

“Shhhh… King Nebeus witches must have noticed that someone was portaled into this world,” Gwendolyn answered in a whisper after she and Gerald hid behind a huge tree in the forest.

“And what’s wrong if someone portals into this world?” Gerald whispered back with fear evident on his face.

He instantly regretted coming to this world, but then again, it’s not like he was given a choice because if he was, he sure as hell wouldn't have come to this world.

“Here. Wear this right now. I'll turn my back; you need to make it snappy because we need to leave now,” Gwendolyn answered still in a whisper as she handed over the clothes and shoes that she was holding to Gerald.

Gerald quickly put on the black leather pants and a cotton shirt, which was interlaced from the middle of the chest area to some inches before his belly button as though it were a shoe. Afterward, he put on the black boots.

“Make sure to tuck the pants in the knee-length boot you are wearing. If you don't, everyone will know you are a stranger here, and that'll be very bad,” Gwendolyn instructed Gerald.

”This dress style is outdated,” Gerald mumbled as he looked at Gwendolyn but still did as she instructed.

“I'm done; you can turn around now,” Gerald whispered to Gwendolyn, who immediately turned around.

She wanted to grab his hand for them to continue running, but just then soldiers putting on ancient armor as though they were out to fight a war surrounded them.

Gwendolyn held Gerald's hands possessively when the soldiers surrounded them.

“Surrender him to us; he is charged with the crime of trespassing into our kingdom." A blonde-haired elderly woman who wore a black floral gown that had a high waistline and had black lipstick on said sternly.

The aura emitting from the elderly woman was eerie and dark.

As the elderly woman took a good look at Gerald, a look of recognition flashed across her face, and she gasped as her face immediately hardened.

“Get that boy!!!” The elderly woman yelled as she commanded the soldiers, and the soldiers immediately charged toward Gerald and Gwendolyn.

“Never!!” Gwendolyn yelled and whispered something after taking out a cloak to cover herself and Gerald.

They disappeared immediately after the cloak touched both of them.

The elderly woman whose name was Ophelia sneered with anger, “So the prophecy was true? The time King Nebeus has been dreading has come; I need to warn him,“ Ophelia thought to herself.

“Find that boy in the whole kingdom; no matter what, he won't be in hiding for long. Find him!!!” Ophelia being the head of witches for King Nebeus, the usurper of the Gorkazur kingdom, commanded the soldiers, and they all scurried away to find Gerald, not knowing what awaited them.
