Chapter Eight: Party 2

           Alina was cut off guard with the sudden hug from her best friend, and she patted Joy's back.

Later, Joy pulled away and took a deep breath.

" I didn't mean to surprise you Ali."

And she looked up at her.

"Well, it okay and mind telling me what's wrong?"

She asked, and the duo started walking out of the garden to the courtyard.

Joy scratched the back of her head awkwardly and replied Alina, " It nothing, don't worry."

Alina stopped and turned towards Joy. She crossed her hands over chest and squinted her eyes. 

"Now, now, Joy, be a good girl and tell me what's wrong."

Joy shook her head and uttered in a taunting tone, " But I don't want to be a good girl, and I will not tell you."

Then, she laughed. 

Sensing Joy wasn't ready to talk about it, she sighed but she knew Joy will later spit it out, maybe she didn't feel like saying it right now. 

"Forget it then. I know you will talk about it later. Let's go."

Alina voiced out indifferently. She wasn't going to force Joy to say anything but wait till she expressed herself out.

"Oh by the way, I asked the King to assign Eris as my personal knight."

She looked at Joy and smiled smugly.

Joy frowned but almost immediately she changed it. She didn't understand why Alina will do that but decided to asked her before coming into any conclusions. 

" Why Eris?"

" Nothing. I know he doesn't like me, because of what happened six years ago, I just did it because of you."

Alina curled her lips up and dit. She loved the weird expression on her best friend's face. 

Joy frowned again and wondered what Alina was up to. She really can act mysterious sometimes.

" What do you mean?"

Alina leaned over Joy's shoulder and whispered, " C'mon Joy, we have been best friends for over a decade now, and three years ago I discovered you have a crush on Eris but too shy to voice out your feelings, so am helping you instead."

She grinned widely and shrugged.

"Wait!"

Joy stared at her ginger head friend and shouted.

"What?" Alina asked innocently and continued walking.

"You mean.....you knew all along and kept quiet and..........is that why you want Eris to be your personal knight? So, that way I can be close to him?"

Alina smiled and blinked her eyes. "Well, what can I say???"

Joy jumped at Alina and showered her with kisses. " Muah, muah!!!! I love you so much, even though am embarrassed. You are really my best friend to the core Alina."

Alina giggled and shook her head at Joy's display.

" Yeah, but am sure he is not going to take it so well. Let's just remain cool ok."

"Sure Alina."

Joy smiled and replied her.

"You know, your birthday is coming next week right?" Joy beamed, and they both continued their walk.

"Yeah, I Know. The king and Queen actually want to make it a big party, and you know am not a fan of parties, but I just had to agreed to it. So, I can please them and the worst is, they thought I could find the right one for me there. Huh! It really annoying!" 

Alina was finally able to let her piled up emotions out. 

Joy sighed. " The king and the Queen meant well. Don't forget you are the Princess, and it only right for you to find the one or would you mind marrying your passion instead lady?" 

She arched her left eye brow at Alina and twirled around before she continued her walk.

"I wish I can!" 

"Oh, my dear Alina. You know you can't hide from love princess."

Joy held Alina hands and uttered gently.

Alina groaned and exhaled. " I know but...let's just forget it. I don't have a crush, and I don't think anyone can make my heart to skip a beat."

She doesn't want to have anything to do with love and wished everyone could understand her, but she knew it wasn't possible. She was a Princess and needs to sire an heir to the throne, but sometimes she fantasied on having a simple life. It really wasn't easy for her.

" Haha look at you, am sure you will find that person one day, and I promised you once that day comes, you will have to treat me out for a week." 

Joy grinned, flashing her two well indented dimples on her cheeks at Alina.

" Whatever." Alina rolled her eyes and suddenly smiled widely. 

" But am anticipating something special on my upcoming birthday."

She suddenly remembered the present the King said to her, about inviting dark faes to her party. 

He really knows me well, she thought.

"And....what's that?"

Joy commented and was curious to know what actually made Alina smiled so widely.

"Guess my dear." She curled her lips and chuckled at Joy's confused expression.

"Huhh not fair lady! You know I hate guessing." Joy pouted and complained. 

She was really bad at guessing, and Alina tends to get her through that.

"Okay, okay fine! I will burst it out then. There will be dark faes coming to the party!!!!!.... Isn't that exciting!" She exclaimed.

They both looked at each other and squealed, 

" Haaaa oh dear goodness! It going to be awesome."

" I can't wait for that party to come. Dark faes are cool and their beauty, oh it breathtaking!"

Joy continued. She almost tripped, but Alina helped her in time.

" Easy there. I know right? I can't wait too."

"Even their wings!"

"And their aura."

"So cool!"

They continued their gists, until they arrived at the courtyard.

After they arrived at the courtyard, the duo were welcomed with a fighting scene between Eris and one other special knight.

Joy blushed and tugged Alina's left arm. She was over excited to see her crush fighting so coolly.

Alina just rolled her eyes. The sword fight was nothing to her, cause over Six years she has become one of the best sword fighter and Archer. She also perfected in hand to hand combat. 

Eris swung his sword easily from one side to the other and jabbed his opponent straight up from the bottom unexpectedly, which led him to overthrow his opponent.

"Oh my god! Eris was so cool, and he easily knocked his opponent down. He was like pah, dah and whoosh!...."

Joy blabbered and seems not wanting to stop until she pulled Alina with her, and they both strolled to Eris side.

Alina just sighed and silently let Joy dragged her anyhow.

To her, Joy was a sily noodle.
