A Ferry On The Sea [II]

"It's okay, it's okay..." At this moment, Garvin, who was sitting in the cabin, suppressed his uneasiness and comforted himself silently. Although he had been very unlucky recently, after all, all his experiences of unholy encounters so far had been limited to the area where he worked within the City's First Affiliated Hospital. Once he left the hospital, everything was calm except for that nightmare. So he should be fine away from the hospital.

The fisherman never thought of the impact his words would have on Garvin at this moment. When he saw that his unremitting efforts finally paid off and attracted the attention of the beautiful woman, he beamed with joy. After laughing, he lowered his voice and pretended to be mysterious: "Actually, a friend of mine has seen things in that haunted house!"

The stewardess glanced at the man and seemed to be finally interested in the topic. "Your friend?"

The fisherman uncle nodded vigorously. "An unlucky guy, he used to work on a fishing boat. He was usually very courageous and did not believe in evil by nature. Once when the fishing boat docked to rest, this guy got drunk and joined other people on the boat. People were bragging and betting on who was braver."

The stewardess looked at the fisherman and said nothing, but it was easy to tell from the look in her eyes that she wanted to hear him continue talking.

The fisherman suddenly became excited and continued energetically. "This guy bragged that he was not afraid of any evil at all. He would go to the haunted house to see what was going on. He even said that if there was a female ghost there, he would just catch her as his wife. There was a rumor that a beautiful female ghost was also in the house."

"Did he really go, or was he just bragging?" The stewardess sat up straight, with a look of curiosity on her face.

The fisherman spat and said, "Of course he went. The time they were making bets happened to be during dinner and drinking time in the evening. My buddy drank a lot of wine. He was in the mood and no one could stop him. He picked it up right away. With a bottle of wine in his hand, he staggered to Hacken Cliff, saying that if he really spent the night in that haunted house, the guys who bet with him at that time would lose a thousand dollar to him. "

"Then what?" the stewardess asked.

"Those who bet against him were not fools. When they saw that he was really going, they immediately asked two people who were not drunk to follow him. First, they were afraid that he would cheat, maybe he would not go to the haunted house at all but spent time somewhere else. And secondly, they were worried that it would be unsafe for him to walk on the mountain road alone because he was too drunk. So, the three of them set off towards Hacken Cliff one after the other."

To be honest, the fisherman uncle's story-telling skills were quite good. Not to mention the stewardess, even Garvin, who was sitting closest to the service desk, temporarily forgot his previous uneasiness and listened with great interest.

Although a series of strange experiences in the past six months told him that although unnatural encounters may sound exciting to others, for the person involved, it was by no means a wonderful experience. The so-called contradictory feeling of "the more I am afraid, the more I want to listen, and the more I listen, the more I am afraid" referred to his current situation.

The man continued: "At that time, the fishing boat my buddy was working on was parked at Beige Pier, which is not far from Hacken Cliff. My buddy borrowed a bicycle and rode to the bottom of the cliff when the sun just set. But it was not completely dark yet, and he could still see the road clearly. He parked his bicycle and followed the mountain road to the cliff. The cliff was not high, but it took him more than ten minutes to walk to the top. "

Having said this, he did not forget to stretch out his hand to indicate the height of the cliff before continuing. "The two people following him also went up the cliff. They saw that this guy really went to the haunted house in front. He originally planned to return...You know, that place is really weird. According to what several of them said later, the atmosphere changed once they reached the cliff."

The stewardess and Garvin beside her were completely attracted by his vivid narration, and each one was more fascinated than the other.

Seeing the beautiful woman paying so much attention to him, the fisherman spoke with even harder tone. "They were on the cliff at that time, and they felt like there was a ghostly atmosphere everywhere they went. Even the temperature around them seemed to be several degrees higher than the ground in other places, especially on the ground. It was that old house, and cold air kept coming out of it. They said it was like a morgue. As a result, just when the two couldn't stand the weird atmosphere and were about to run away, they heard my friend in front of them yelled."

The fisherman screamed like his buddy, successfully startling the stewardess and Garvin who was eavesdropping. The stewardess couldn't help but pat her chest and said with lingering fear: "Why, did he really see something?"

"That's right!" The fisherman slapped his thigh hard, "It was said that as soon as he walked towards the haunted house, less than seven or eight meters away, he saw a white shadow emerging from the broken window on the second floor of the house!"

"Did he really see something?" the stewardess asked doubtfully, "Did the two people following behind see it?"

"My buddy thought that he was dazzled at first, so he rubbed his eyes and took a closer look. He did indeed see a disheveled white figure standing motionless in the window frame. As for the two guys behind, because of the distance, they didn't see it at all. They just heard the guy shouting. The two of them were so scared that they just shrank back. The only reason my friend continued forward was that he was too brave and already burned his head with alcohol. So, he walked up to the haunted house to see what was going on, but guess what?"

At the critical moment, the fisherman did not forget to wet the appetite of the audience.
