Chapter 38

Adrian scurried upstairs to his room where Avery was staring at the painting on the wall, even while he stepped in, she still had her gaze fixed on the painting like she did not notice him come in.

“Avery hey”

“You are back from work, I heard you made a mess at the board meeting today?”

“I guess we all make mistakes, or wouldn't you agree with me?” he asked softly and she nodded her head before she finally turned to meet his gaze. “Freya kept insisting that you wanted to see me, what is this about?”

“Are you still angry with me?”

“Shouldn't I, even my dad is still angry about the fact that I dismissed Marcus and yet I could not give him a reasonable answer. It is not like I can just tell him that I made a new friend who has some spiritual powers and thinks that Marcus has an evil aura around him”

“Yeah, I get you, and I think that you have every reason to be angry with me, but how about you calm down while I have a shower and then we can both have dinner here”

“Shouldn't you be having
