Avery froze right there, her eyes had turned red while she stared at Adrian trying to comprehend what just happened and after a while of her brain not being able to process the scene before her, she took to her heels, running towards him.

She grabbed him and tucked him so hard into an embrace, crying more deeply. “Don't you dare pull such a stunt on me ever again, I thought that I had lost you, I was so scared and I could not breathe with the thought of not seeing you ever again”

She cried out with her hands still wrapped around him and Adrian who could not believe he had survived this, let his hands find their way to her waist.

“Thank you so much, Avery, you saved my life” He whispered into her ears while he gasped in relief, although she did not understand what he meant, she was so excited that he was alive and nothing else mattered to her.
